- We had a BLAST building this little guy.. the 1983 honda atc200x
We picked this up roughly a year ago - and decided to do a full restoration + modification type rebuild.
While doing this project we designed a invert front end suspension kit with our billet triple clamps, billet hub / axle .. allowing us to run CRF150R forks and brakes - and ofcourse the popular 10x5 atv front wheel and 23'' tire.
The swingarm needed some upgrades also, the OEM adjusters just do not work great.. so i built a custom pivot bolt/ block to convert the pivot point to a normal style (modern style) with a +2 fabricated and tig welded arm... we then added all TRX450R axle components in the rear so that we had ease of chain adjustment and the ability to run all modern parts from bearing carrier to our billet anti-fade nut - and TRX brakes and hubs. we chose beadlock rear wheels along with 18'' back tires.

Got an 86 200x that I’ll definitely be upgrading with this kit in the future and a 84 200x frame fitted with a Yamaha blaster engine still working on the pipe but I’ll just use the old forks and triple tree on it for a little upgrade over the stocker forks. Can’t thank you enough for what you do as I love these machines and want to keep them around for when my boys get a little older so they can experience the awesomeness of 3wheels!
We do everything we can to upgrade and keep them alive 🙏🏼

My first three wheeler! Nice! Dad bought a 110, 185s & a 200x. The 200x was and is the unsung hero.
I pick up my new 83 200x tomorrow, so stoked! Perfect timing for me for this video.
I won't be ashamed to say I'd love to see more vintage machines. My '84 200X is still my favorite trike to date. Factory chain adjustors suck without a doubt! LONG LIVE THE HONDA ATC 🤙🏻

One of my really good friends growing up Howie Holcomb had one of these things that he beat the living dog crap out of . You couldn't kill the damn thing.i swear it have like 2lbs of compression and still ran. What a great bike and build
It ran and a clean tank on a 30 plus yead old machine is not what I call rough. I like all the upgrades you made.
I had an 82 200X and put a stage 3 from Kerker in it, then had it stroked by a company in California. Had Otsu rear tires, cut the steering stops and raced once in the 200 class and from that time forward, raced the 350 class and won every race. Love seeing the 200X.

I absolutely love this, I live in Alaska, I have a hoard of 80s honda trikes, including a 1984 250r I had the frame powder coated honda blue , I would love to modernize it ,i also have a 85 & 84 200x no tanks & plastics are rough to say the least. Super cool build guys ! I've got an 83 and an 85 200x. The 85 , I rebuilt . Trying to source good used parts was tough. Please make new parts for these machines. Your builds and matching is great quality. You'll have no problems selling anything you make. Keep up the great work !
Wow, a partial resto with a bvc twist it looks fantastic ! I have an 85 200x I cleaned up as a rider I'm definitely interested in the decals, I wet sanded my shrouds and they are way passed being saved.

that looks badass ! I have a couple 200x myself an 85 and one made up of a 84 frame forks and swingarm but 85 seat fenders etc , they are fun to play around with !
I had a 200X as a kid. I bought one a few years ago for nostalgia reasons and tricked it out with some old school parts, e.g., Westcoast swinger, Supertrapp pipe, etc. It's fun, but after riding 50 to 60 hp machines its not the most exciting machine. Mickey Dunlop will do a 250cc big bore kit for you, makes around 27hp I think.

I want a 200x to mod it like a Mickey Dunlap race bike or similar for the Era. As much as I love the 2 strokes, those smaller 4 strokes are just a blast to have fun on. Also have those Carlisle trail pros on my tri z. Lol They're 22s but they are huge and wide compared to the stocks.

Very cool. I had a 200x back around 1986 or 87. Loved it. My only complaint was it was a bitch to start. If it had an electric start, it would have been the perfect 3 wheeler.

I still have my 85 200x it needs plastic badly had tons of fun groing up with it. Would like to put a big wheel kit on it also and have both kits to switch back and forth.👆

At idle they will do that but should go away? You can run it on a battery if needed.

I have an '85 200X that I want to put a new exhaust on. All you can find new is DG and they are just too loud. Would you guys consider building a new exhaust for it.
