My father is extremely racist towards every single person that’s not black. One time he was being extremely rude and doing the eye thing that people do to mock Asians with monolid eyes. I told him to never do that again and what he said was so stupid that I felt embarrassed. He said “I can’t be racist to Asians because they’re smarter than us.” What the actual fuck! That made no sense whatsoever.
Dang bra
I guess asians cant be racist to blacks either cuz theyre taller than them? hahahaha
The funny (or sad) thing is that he in self-internalizing the racist truth that he believe in, that Asians are more INTELLIGENT and therefore SUPERIOR to Black people in that sense, so he feels it's ok to stoop low and make fun of them, because they wouldn't do that in his face.
It's actually pathetic in that sense, because he is outwardly announcing to the world "HEY! I'm INFERIOR and I KNOW IT! And I'll REINFORCE THAT NOTION!"
It's such a toxic self-defeating circle, I hope he sees the irony in that, and makes him look weaker.
Just be glad you are not caught in that same trap, and I hope that you can one day break through to him, for his sake as a rational man..
@Just got faded Ah ha ha I always try to make him see that he’s being a dipshit but he doesn’t care. He’s very ignorant. He was like “I’m going to call all Asian people Chinese because they are all Chinese and all eat disgusting things.”🤦♀️

@@aBLA910 NICE. So all Asians are from China now. But. That’s not a racist statement at all. I guess stupid people can’t be racist.
J. Bra I have never had a white person say it to me
@pat p i'm not an expert so i'm not saying i am right but from what i understand xenophobia correlates more with fear. feel free to correct me if i'm wrong, that's just what i can gather... that situation didn't sound to me like a statement rooted in fear, more rooted in disrespect.
@pat p we can make up as many words as we want. It all means hatred of something people cannot help. Plus. Does “xenophobic” make it any better or more right or less wrong?

@Tyrone Simmons did you even read the original comment?
My great-grandma still calls Asian men chinamen :)
@Tyrone Simmons but your question has nothing to do with the original comment. It's literally apples and oranges
@Tyrone Simmons Your analogy makes absolutely zero sense, my guy
@Tyrone Simmons present-day whites haven't put blacks into slavery. And to even suggest that that is a reality is not only disgusting and degrading to blacks who actually lived, suffered, and died in slavery, but is so far from the truth that it makes me wonder whether you even live in reality.
I dated an Indian Sikh (who wore a turban & beard) for 6 years, and people called out racist shit to him on a regular basis - calling him Talibani, terrorist, Osama bin Laden, etc. He said that, without a doubt, the majority of people who gave him shit like this were black.
You left out the part where he had the white house lego set and big "fireworks" in his apartment.

For most tho, it's just disliking white people and turning their words into something racist, so I'm not that worried.
you don't have to worry about their racism, it becomes a problem when it's affecting other people with their lives
@@siddharthnandi8567 It does effect other people's lives. If we allow minorities to be racist, it will cause more white people to become racist as a result of how they're being treated by minorities. And white people being racist effects other peoples lives, right?
@@Remember_the_Time Of course it can be the other way around! Forms of discrimination go in all ways, and it's seriously harmful to let people in society treat others differently for how they look, no matter what they look like themselves.

Hearing "black people can't be racist" always made me so angry. It doesn't make sense whatsoever
It does make sense if you think about it in a systemic hierarchy. The "oppressed" cant be the oppressors. If they could be, then they wouldn't be...oppressed.So even though blacks can have just as much bias, prejudice, and even hatred towards the "oppressive races..i.e Caucasians, Koreans, Chinese, etc. Because they are the ones with the foot up their asses, they cant be deemed racist, because they aren't making the rules. I'm from Mexico and people around here have started repeating this stand. It makes sense because this allows them to do the exact same things they say they hate but remain on "the good side".
It sucks because I'm in the middle of all things; If I'm hanging with actual white people they don't see me as one of them but brown people dont think of me as brown either. I'm also middle class (scalated from the bottom) so poor people call me rich but wealthy people would never call me rich...
Some how, someone with darker skin can look at me and just assume everything about me based on the color of my skin alone, make hurtfull comments and think he did something good by calling me out. It is down right absurd
Same man being a middle class Mexican American can be weird, especially when it comes to the way your family from Mexico or even friends perceive you.
As a South American, I always found Mexicans to be incredibly arrogant. They see themselves as superior to us, and always love calling Mexico the greatest place on Earth (despite leaving it in droves). They have this really weird and completely unearned cultural God complex and they tend to be super racist against blacks, whites, Asians, etc. Basically anyone that doesn't "look" stereotypically mestizo/criollo. The children of Mexican immigrants in US are often worse.

The fun thing is, they were white, while me and some friends who told them "that's an stupidity " are brown.
The thing is I don't think white people really care what color you are so they don't try to treat you as "one of their own" based on color but how you are and treat others whereas Mexicans can be very tribal. Im from Tijuana and not as dark skin so guess who is more r@acist to me? Not white people.

I get your point, but being stupid and uneducated are 2 completely different things. You can be very Intelligent, know how to socialize with people and how to carry out deep and meaningful conversations and be quick witted and fast learners but not know how to solve a math problem because they’re uneducated however, they have the potential to learn anything only if they were taught. And stupid people can regurgitate information which might make them look smart but they don’t have the ability to pick up information and analyze it like an actually clever person.

I am Latino, and unfortunately, there are instances of xenophobia present, particularly among some older individuals and a few younger people. This xenophobia has historically been directed towards individuals from Peru, Colombia, and Haiti, often based on the color of their skin. It is important to note that not all Latinos are xenophobic, and these incidents are not typically openly displayed on the streets but rather felt or experienced indirectly.

One of the problems is the value placed on racism, compared to bigotry and prejudice. Everyone can be a bigot. False. Prejudice isn't the same as the systems that support the dominance of one racial group (white people) over all others. Where do the dominant forms of entertainment come from? (western nation's)What is the most widely spoken language? (English, even with China beating it with native speakers, English is still the number one spoken language.) What are the beauty standards in the world? Who were the primary colonizers in the world? (There were only 5 countries that weren't colonized by European countries and even those made deals. )
The system of racism creates a racist culture that bleeds into how people treat/see one another. And it's based in a white dominant model.
So no, POC can't be racist, but they can participate in the racism of the dominant culture, through prejudice and internalized racism/oppression.

But yeah: I didn’t mean jokes, and I hate that it takes a lot to show what I mean with our current technology.
AKA: Typing more words than I originally wanted.
Edit #2:
I’m keeping my mistake up for everyone to see, so I’m not going to change it.
i agree, but it becomes a problem when you're treating someone differently, not when you're making jokes.
Honestly another thing people need to realise that mixed race isn't just black and white too, my great grandpa is black, there's also a bit of Asian in there due to his wife and I still came out looking white as fuck when technically I'm far from it genetically
So I assume what this means is to you, if anyone makes a joke about another race, to you, that is racist?
Nah making racist jokes are fine as long they are actually funny. Something like calling a black person a monkey and claiming it to be okay cuz its a joke is racism. Its kinda like someone making some super dark and sadistic situation and claiming it to be dark comedy even though they forgot to add the comedy.
@@mac-iv5gs There's a problem with that first part though - Comedy is wholly subjective. That means what some find hilarious, others may find unfunny and potentially offensive. And that's why these days people want to cancel and ban insult comics all because they personally don't find their jokes funny and also take offense to them. Just because you or someone doesn't find the joke funny does not make the person telling it racist, that lacks all logic.

I'm a black girl and I go to a predominantly black school. I LOVE Kpop and Asian culture, I love many foreign cultures cause they're so different and cool but Kpop and many other Asian cultures stood out to me. I was basically made fun of for liking Asians, they would hold up the corners of their eyes, they'd call them all “Ching Chongs” and so much more. My brothers would even say I was adopted because my eyes “look” Asian, I'm not adopted.
TRUST me when I say the black people CAN be racist and we should start speaking up about this.
Edit: I thought saying my eyes “looked” Asian was a bit disrespectful but what I meant was that my eyes have a slight slant to them and look a bit small. Idk how to describe it. Also thanks for the likes, I’m glad people wanna talk about this.
Edit 2: To clarify, the only reason my brothers would say I “looked” Asian is because my eyes are kinda small and have a slight slant. With that said, those are not facial features that Asians are defined by. All Asians can look completely different from what they have been stereotyped as. I apologize for any confusion or anger.

Idk, just wanted to share this, I also agree with your point.
In my situation its vice versa, i live in an Asian country and there are still not enough education about racism towards black people bc we don't really see them that often in this country, so when they actually see one, half of the people tend to mock their skin colors and appearance, saying the N slur or things like "m*nkey". Agreed. I do think the 'black friends' argument is actually valid though. If someone was asked to prove that they're not racist, there would be few things that would convince me like a testimony from their best friend since childhood that happens to be black. I mean, with all of the racist accusations flying around these days, how else would you prove it?
@@darnelle4532 You don't. The only way someone can rationally assume you're racist is if you say racist things or display racism with your behaviour. Thoughts can't be proven, only actions can. Anything else is bs and you have every right to ignore it. You're not going to try to prove to a random person who approaches you on the street you didn't steal their wallet, same applies here.
@@Caellyan I was speaking hypothetically of course. I do believe the idea of trying to prove something like that is absolutely ridiculous, but you hear about all of the career-destroying accusations of racism with no evidence of it to be found. If one was faced with a false accusation, how might they defend themselves if their job was on the line? If this random person was accusing me of stealing their wallet, I would present evidence. Eyewitness accounts, CCTV, or perhaps an alibi. When it comes to accusations of thought crimes you're SOL if they're coming from a so-called, 'marginalized group'. Even being on the receiving end of racism several times, I suppose I could have proved the occurrence only once, but I didn't need to. People believed my word. My anecdote aside, It's not something I have to worry about, because apparently, I can't be racist due to the "institution of layers". Either way this irrational problem is an interesting thought to entertain.
I think that's a terminology problem. Of course black people can be racist, and I am saying this as a black person. As a matter of fact, we're even more racist between one another. However, in the context of the United States, racism usually means systemic oppression. This is something that black Americans don't have the tools to perpetrate, so seen like that, yes they can't be racist.
Isn't saying black people can't be racist a racist statement in itself... therefore..... racist? Idk
Wdym exactly?
I'd argue it's racist in saying that black people are above human in that they don't have biases and denies them humanity. But that's a weird argument, I'll admit.

I think they mean like why is it that people say black people can’t be racist? Because they aren’t powerful enough and never will be powerful enough in life because of what white people did to their people in the past and how they built modern day society on their backs, right? Saying that is like declaring a curse on all future generations of little black girls and boys who are born into this world, saying that we don’t have that kind of power now and will never be powerful enough, NEVER be powerful enough to insult other people in the way they insult us. Just because of our ancestor’s history. Aint that messed tf up! Why do you think all these young black kids be feeling so defeated all the time in comparison to their peers? Because both black AND white people are telling them that because of what color skin they have, they don’t have a voice, they don’t have power, they don’t have the capability to be violent and evil to other people but that’s something we will always have to endure. It sets a child’s mind up for failure and disappointment. Maybe these white kids that are on the same level financially and family wise as us doing well are only doing well because they’re always told they have some inherent power to themselves, just cause of their skin. I would much rather be told I have generations of power behind me in my skin that will never not benefit me in my life. That type of talking perpetuates racism because it gassed up all these mf white ppl’s skin!!! Tell your black kids they have some inherent power just in being themselves and they will take advantage of that encouragement, just as the white kids are doing today because of all these stupid black mfs saying they above us and we arent on their level enough to be racist to any race. I am not a racist, I would never judge anyone on their appearance to the point that I simply ask the closest person for help. Regardless if it's a black person who I happen to find intimidating(I find some white people intimidating too, intimidation is a thing based on patterns and social expectations, not necessarily based on racism), or an asian woman in a car dealership. However, I could still make a comment that will sound extremely racist, even though the intentions werent racist at all. Or I can make a very racial based joke, and while it is a joke, some people simply take too much offense to that. Claiming you cant be racist is a claim you cannot possibly fill. Especially since the only way not to come over as racist, you'd have to explain every single detail after having stated something that could be percieved as racist.
I could say in a restaurant "oh that man has some amazing chicken for dinner" while pointing at a black man who obviously is having some extremely tasty looking chicken for dinner. @@malorie8557 Yes and no... I mean, we're not the top percent. Two thirds of the whole world have running water. 5 billion people have a cell phone today. Sure, it still means that 30% of people don't have that stuff and that's a big number but it's not most people.
In Europe (even Eastern Europe) almost everyone has that stuff. Same in Oceania. Same in North and South Africa, and a good portion of Asia too. North America isn't any more privileged than any of these places.
@@DamonDraven well, for one. Asia is a CONTINENT that includes China, India, Russia, Japan and so fourth and probably has the most poverty disparity.
And no, you have that backwards, two thirds of the world IS POOR not rich.
There's entire world out there besides Western socities. The minimum wage in Mexico alone is below 2.50.
The average person in India, doesn't have a toliet.
Some parts of Africa only recieve food should a hunter come in and donate to a local tribe.
Don't even get me started on China, North Korea or even Middle Eastern countries.
The majority of the world is most CERTAINLY not rich but in fact poor. We have far more than the majority of the world. Period.
@@DamonDraven : Google GDP by country. First World countries are way out in front of almost everyone else.
@@malorie8557 Then being rich doesn't mean having the products you mentioned since two thirds of the world have them.

@@KitKat-wm9lq well damn, now I know.
I think a lot of people mistake "white privilege" for "economic privilege". There's a very distinct difference.
white privilege is an assumption and yeah the thing is when you assume...
And being rich isn't always economic privilege. It's not privilege if you worked for it.
@@MistyGlades567 after you attain wealth you are treated differently
@@MistyGlades567 actually it is but to think privilege is a bad thing is beyond me
white privilege is the equivalent of saying all black people are super good at basketball.
"That's a multilayered question"
No such thing it's a are you or are you not question. If your dodging a question with a statement like this you might as well say yes. Because it won't stop anyone from thinking you are simply by deflecting.
I don't care what race, religion, sexual orientation or skin color you are. If you are a good person, then you're a good person. If not, then not. Doesn't get much more simple then that
Edit: thank you all for all the love ❤️ makes my day to know that their are still good people in this cruel world
Same here my dude 👍🏾🤙🏾
Absolutely
!!!! THIS. IS. IT. just don't be an arsehole, and you wouldn't have to be like "i have institutionalized privileged unconscious bias" or whatever new word you learnt from a twitter rant. This whole idea of race determining good character and personality traits is eugenics and therefore straight horseshit
I go by this as well but over time I also learn that what I think is good person might not be what others think. Then problems go on then if I ever call someone (that just happened to be) of color a bad person then I’m called racist. I swear we can’t win this war.

The worst part about today's wokeness is it gives actual racists talking points. I thought racism would be a thing of a past within my generation but idk anymore..
Sometimes the wokeness can be ironically very racist, sexist and homophobic
I once heard from a scientist explain that racism is a nature human trait and that even animals experience some sort of racism but us as intelligent beings are supposed to me smart/wise enough to remove and to step away from negativity in our society so I’m not excusing racism I’m just saying I don’t think it will never end in our society
@@kaoe145 This is the redpill everyone needs to take. You are very close. Racism used to be a survival instinct thousands of years ago. When humans were hunter gatherers, identifying your tribe from others was important, and race helped with that. If you chose wrong, you died. Nowadays, modern society doesn't (or at least shouldn't) need race to tell your kin from others apart. A lot of people consider racism as an absolute evil when in reality it's just a hardwired tool, like fear and anxiety. It's a tool a perfect society wouldn't need anymore.
I think seeing true racism is rare in my world. My community isn't racist, my friends aren't nor is my family. But I think racism is now subjective. People call racism if there is a magazine article critiquing someone who happens to be black, even if their race isn't spoken about. Or if a celebrity made a statement or joke that was taken out of context, people will call for them to be cancelled in the name of racism. People have forgotten what racism actually means, it is the definition of true hate towards a person only based on their skin colour, and I really think it's rare to meet someone like that. But people are pushing the boundaries wider and wider on racism and it lessens that label. So a kid is bullied at school because he is black, they call him racial slurs and only pick on him because of his skin colour, then you have a celebrity filmed singing the 'n word' during a rap song despite them loving and supporting the artist, yet people will call both examples racist. Only thing is, that kid won't get any media attention because people will only be focused on the 'racist' celebrity.
I've seen posts on twitter saying "if their were schools only for minorities the world would be a better place"
Like some people don't even think before they speak
I'm white as hell, and ginger. My great grandma is straight Africa african, my grandfather is half. I cannot tell you how many times poc have told me that I have privilege, that I don't deserve certain things because I'm white. I had my first job when I was 14, and grew up with no dad.
Treat people the way you want to be treated, respect people. We will always see color, but we can also see character. That's all.
Yes, exactly. We need to bring back individualism. We have a problem today in America where we look at people in groups far too often and forget that just because two people are white or black doesn’t mean that they are alike...they’re just 2 people.

ANYONE is capable of racism. Hate breeds hate (unfortunately).
Riddle me this, can hate also breed peace? We talk so much about the atrocities races have committed, hear the rhetoric constantly but at some point with enough time, understanding, and change in societal behaviors, the very anathema to it forms and sometimes either peacefully or very bloody. Hate begets action, action produces results and the results dictate what you'll get end the end be it positive or negative but that depends on what actions you take. Sorry for the rambling but I guess I pick at the idiom "hate begets hate" more than I realize. That and "the customer is always right". If you do retail, LIES!
sessy01 I get what you mean and I completely agree. I just guess that currently in our society some people choose to alleviate the hate they face by showing it towards others. But your right. Maybe those people can eventually come together and utilise the hate they receive into finding a solution
@S Morgan Yeah, that used to be a sad reality. This has fortunately changed a lot and continues to develop in the right direction. Not saying that there is no racism anymore, because there definitely is, but this new cult of intersectionalism with its extreme identity politics has been the single most divisive concept since white supremacy.
@S Morgan I think you need to do basic fucking research, racism is literally judging people on the skin of their color (Basically what you are doing)
S Morgan I agree black people are looked upon as lowest because I’ve experienced that many times escpecially in a country like Ireland where I was born. I did not say that we are all equal I said that in the future we as black people should not channel the racism we receive onto other people but come together and use channel all our hurt and pain towards finding a solution. I also said that unfortunately that’s not the case currently. The whole point of the discussion here is that said we can’t be racist because we are black is lowkey justifying ourselves if we were to make a racist comment towards another race
