Such a masterpiece... I don't know why but I strangely like the train sequence where she sits in the train and see those painting-like landscapes and shadowy people on the platform. It's so beautiful and nostalgic.
The train in general is so magical for me.. just imagining deserted train stations in a magical world and a lonely train that goes to magical places.. the train in this movie is possibly my best memory from any movie. It's really hard to explain haha
+jikotaka3 I think thats the magic of his work. At first it may look trivial and unimportant but sometimes these are the scenes that you really remember. Like how My Neighbor Totoro's most memorable scene for everyone is the waiting at the bus stop,
Oh, that's my absolute favourite moment in that film. You rarely feel quietness in a Western animated film and that's what separates Miyazaki (I haven't seen much other anime yet) from his Western inferiors.
The American dubbing of Spirited Away is quite excellent, but as with most foreign films, it's best to watch it in its original language with subtitles.
Well, I kind of agree but I think they used too much Disney actors and American voices in the english. Plus the dialogue, vocals and acting are better in Japanese, it's the only one I'm able to watch. Also did anyone think it was strange that haku was voiced by a 12 year old boy in the Japanese version but he was voiced by a 27 year old man in the English version? I mean there was supposed to be a love story between chihiro and haku right?
I saw the movie in english ( just 30 minutes) and in jpn and portuguese-brasil. The english version is so weird! The haku voice is wrong, very very wrong. In japanese is perfect, and the portuguese dubbing match with the movie.
Heh I thought it would be interviews of the Japanese animators and of how they came about the film and the works that they did but it's literally just them westerners talking about the story and only 2 Japanese appeared amazin
Fantastic film much to my surprise. I watched it just to keep kids quiet and found that not only were the kids silent but I was completely taken back by this movie. A stunning piece of work that you have to see to appreciate.
this film left a deep impression on my childhood:)i was quite terrified to watch it when i was only 7:))but such a phenonomenon story:) i imagined myself like that little girl dragged into such a world:)i would be terrifying yet exciting:)
me too me too:Di watched it many times when i was a kid then recently watched it again:)still hooked:D though i dont get goosebumps when i watched the 1st time:))
This is just the greatest animation movie ever made, by far. The first time I watched it I was just experiencing the movie, the atmosphere sorrounds you completely, the desings blows you away. This was a stroke of genius in history, thanks Master Miyazaki for this piece of art.
Got so upset after watching this movie. This movie is SUPER GOOD! And yet, I asking myself pretty long, WHY DIDN'T I WATCH THIS MOVIE REALLY SOON? I feel really glad, happy and day dreaming at the same time. Feel like I live inside.
Castle in the sky, Howls moving castle, Spirited away. Hayao makes the best animated movies that are so fascinating but would also scare me when I was little lol
This film as good as all miyazaki's masterpieces deserves wholly to have been a studio ghibli film only with no interruptions from a said company Disney.
I've watched the movie for the first time lately and just after the first minutes I was so relaxed. Idk, there is something magical about Miyazakis movies, i'm starting to watch all of his other films too! The music, the beautiful way it is drawn/animated, all the little details, the voice actors. It is just perfect! I instantly fell in love with this film.
This movie brings back so many memory's I remember when i was a kid I'd watch this movie all the time....this movie makes me feel like a little kid again :)
Ah, Spirited Away. The second I saw it on Cartoon Network, I instantly fell in love with it. One of the best animated movies ever (I'd go as far as to say it's one of the best overall movies ever)
This is a masterpiece of animation, and of film work in general. Just seeing some of these clips from the movie hits me in the feels all these years later. The magic never fades.
@@sunnyday6951 the movie "how do you live" is based off the book and has interviews done about it in May of 2020. The a actual release date though... is some time away as they figure it will take about three more years of animation to complete the project.
Spirited Away and Princess Mononoke transcend the movie genre. Not only are they arguably the two greatest animated movies ever, they are two of the greatest movies ever.
i agree with Glenn Keane about the moment when Chihiro tapped her shoes to the floor. Miyazaki really captured a rhythmic and pattern of a little girl's behavior.
Yess the River god!!! We walked to the Ghibli Museum in Mitaka from the station along the river and saw the huge fish in the river! I knew Miyazaki took part in cleaning it every year, but did not connect it to the river god until now.
I feel like when the movie arrive in america , Walt Disney tried to tell everybody that they created the flim and the original creator dont get the credit
Happy Birthday and New Years Eve Jason Marsden. U were awesome legend. I love Spirited Away, Fallout New Vegas, Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy, A Goofy Movie, Teen Titans, The Fairly Oddparents, Kim Possible, Codename Kids Next Door, My Life as a Teenage Robot, Garfield Gets Real, Tarzan and Hocus Pocus. Star Wars Jedi Knight Jedi Academy and Fallout New Vegas really kick-ass. Love those games. I seen The Fairly Oddparents and My Life as a Teenage Robot and Spirited Away, when I was little... good times. Spirited Away is kind of like a Disney movie. Love this guy. i think its was shit :P the hungarian dub is far more better :D just like with south park
The added last lines in the american version dumb down the movie. Disney, urgh
Agreed. Even this video sucks out the soul of this great movie. Watch the dubbed version for sure.
This is the first ghilbi movie that i've watched this is really amazing
Same
denairasama same ;)
denairasama
My First was this one and the Weird Racoon one
I Hate 2D animation profiles Totoro?
ByTGM
No the 0ne Where They All Had BallSacks
I hope Disney won't come up with the idea of buying studio Ghibli.
TheBikeOnTheMoon well, considering their recent purchase of fox it wouldn't surprise me unfortunately
Hayao will never sell it, he despite the fact of Disney ruining his movies and the fact that USA fought on wars across the world
I don't think he'd sell it. Miyazaki is a Grandmaster. Money couldn't give him what he gets from making these masterpieces.
Why would that be a bad thing?
I will kill Disney if they even think about it cause its bad enough they presenting it like they made the film and own it
i have a major crush on haku :P
...same.
same😆
me too
Haku is handsome. But Howl is the one that makes no man is handsome enough to beat Howl
Haku and howl😉♥️
OMG... Chihiro and Haku's voice lol
I love Japanese ver.
I think so too!
ありがとう
same
Just seeing and hearing HAKU speaks soothes me. When I look at the voice actor I kind of die inside
I know right!!!!
LOL I FEEL THE SAME WAY. I used to have a crush on Haku when i watched Spirited Away as a kid. But the voice actor tho...
Kiri n I love his voice in Japanese
Chester Marshall Taylor agree!!!
How rude. :/
Heh I thought it would be interviews of the Japanese animators and of how they came about the film and the works that they did but it's literally just them westerners talking about the story and only 2 Japanese appeared amazin
i watched spirited away SO many times as a kid, even at my birthday party i had everyone watch it, my favorite film yet.
Miyazaki is a GOD of animation!
Its so Sad to know that mayazaki Will not make any more movies.
... but he is. Just search for it :3
No he won't
Yasmean Ben actually a new movie's coming out called "when marnie was there", it's coming out this year, the trailer was released like this week
Larissa A yes i know and it´s the last one
*now* you know ;) and yes, it is actually his last movie :(
Fantastic film much to my surprise. I watched it just to keep kids quiet and found that not only were the kids silent but I was completely taken back by this movie. A stunning piece of work that you have to see to appreciate.
hayao miyazaki loves air plane, thats why he always put flying scene in every movie he has.
+Tessa Lonika Yes! There's nearly a flying sequence in every movie!
And then The Wind Rises is all about planes😂
Britain Reynolds And Poroco Rosso!🙂
Spirited Away is a truly beautiful movie
It's one of the greatest movies ever made and probably the best animated movie ever made. I don't say that lightly.
Hayao's movies are so rich in creativity and visuals you never get bored no matter how slow the scene is. Absolute legend.
this film left a deep impression on my childhood:)i was quite terrified to watch it when i was only 7:))but such a phenonomenon story:) i imagined myself like that little girl dragged into such a world:)i would be terrifying yet exciting:)
I saw this movie so many time when i was a kid. And i keep watching it 12 years later! Is favorite animation hahaha
me too me too:Di watched it many times when i was a kid then recently watched it again:)still hooked:D though i dont get goosebumps when i watched the 1st time:))
I love Miyazaki!! He is Awesome!!

The Walt Disney of Japan
tripp cory Nah Walt was a racist, Miyazaki is his own legend
***** Uh oh, it's one of these people
This is just the greatest animation movie ever made, by far. The first time I watched it I was just experiencing the movie, the atmosphere sorrounds you completely, the desings blows you away. This was a stroke of genius in history, thanks Master Miyazaki for this piece of art.
Spirit away is great bud titling it GREATEST is tough because there’s tons of movies that can take that spot, mainly Diseny movies
Hayao makes the best animated movies that are so fascinating but would also scare me when I was little lol
i love mr.miyazaki to an extrordinary extent...he is.. an inspiration to me... and spirited away will forever be my favorite movie
Miyazaki and Takahata, thank you...just thank you.
This film as good as all miyazaki's masterpieces deserves wholly to have been a studio ghibli film only with no interruptions from a said company Disney.
He's such a genius, a role model...i'm about to cry
Hayao Miyazaki : One of the most amazing men on Earth.
I've watched the movie for the first time lately and just after the first minutes I was so relaxed. Idk, there is something magical about Miyazakis movies, i'm starting to watch all of his other films too! The music, the beautiful way it is drawn/animated, all the little details, the voice actors. Lets all be honest, When we first watched Spirited Away we gained a crush on Haku
how Chihiro met Haku is one of my fav scenes...rewatched it over and over...

Hayao Miyazaki is the greatest! I LOVE his work!!!
Miyazaki is so talented it's not even fair anymore. Have my deepest respect, sir.
This movie brings back so many memory's I remember when i was a kid I'd watch this movie all the time....this movie makes me feel like a little kid again :)
I honestly love all the Studio Ghibli films I've already seen! Also, Hayao Miyazaki is totally adorable - my hero!
Ah, Spirited Away. The second I saw it on Cartoon Network, I instantly fell in love with it. One of the best animated movies ever (I'd go as far as to say it's one of the best overall movies ever)
Miyazaki is a genius! Please do not stop making wonderful movies!
+Florian Haffner Too bad... he's farewell masterpiece is out like 2 years ago :'( and I believe it's The Wind Rises
This is a masterpiece of animation, and of film work in general. Just seeing some of these clips from the movie hits me in the feels all these years later. The magic never fades.
6:40 Tbh I tried to hold my breath when I was a kid at that scene...
I haven't watched this film in years, but I remember watching it tons of times when I was younger and I loved it. I'll have to watch it again. :)
I was always a little sad/disappointing that they didn't show the reuniting of Haku and Chihiro at the end of the movie! Love this movie :)
KelBell812 they admitted that Chihiro forgets about everything that happened at the bathouse once she crosses the river :(((
Breaking News!
Hayao Miyazaki will come back to feature film in 2019‼
Y-your kidding Right?! If this is not *TRUE* You'll ruined Mah Wait cuz it's 2019!
He decided to make a film in 2019. But it was unfinished. Perhaps it will take another years.
@@sunnyday6951 the movie "how do you live" is based off the book and has interviews done about it in May of 2020. The a actual release date though... is some time away as they figure it will take about three more years of animation to complete the project.

spirited away is my favorite one of those movies
Spirited Away and Princess Mononoke transcend the movie genre. Not only are they arguably the two greatest animated movies ever, they are two of the greatest movies ever.
This movie was such a trip, especially on the first sober night after a week long alcohol and drugs binge.....jesus i will never forget it.
why does the translation have an accent
Because he's Japanese? Other people can learn english.
I'd say, why are there no subs? It's stupid to talk through it.
nah that's a textbook white guy doing a japanese accent. If you've ever lived in asia you know the difference.
George Cruickshank
You dont have to live in asia to notice. ;)
true
very true
Childhood movie and still love it
Both Jason Mardsen and Suzzane Pleshette were in this film together, but they're also in The Lion King 2: Simba's Pride as Kovu and Zira. Cool! :)
i agree with Glenn Keane about the moment when Chihiro tapped her shoes to the floor. Miyazaki really captured a rhythmic and pattern of a little girl's behavior.
I used to have a crush on haku when I was a small girl lololl lololl... SPIRITED AWAY IS MY LIFE AND CHILDHOOD!!❤️❤️❤️F O R E V E R

I’m Russian so I watched the film in Russian and in my personal opinion, the Russian dub is waaaay better than the American one. It adds so much to the experience. Wish you English speaking guys could watch that 💕
I watched the Russian version too! It seemed to fit the characters a lot more and it made it so much more fun to watch
