Can’t wait to watch your glamping adventures. This tent is amazing. I found a lot of videos with people glamping a while ago with these tents and I’m mesmerized. I was so surprised to see that you are going to do it since I’ve been watching them for a little while now.
Absolutely love the detail you go into here! Always a pleasure to watch one of your videos! Just discovered your other pages last week, and as a fellow Ohioan, I greatly appreciate your passion for the Midwest!
Looks like a great giant tent! The review seems pretty thorough to me. As a wheelchair user, I would wonder if such a tent would work well it has lots of space inside - definite bonus), aside from that issue you mentioned with the room divider, as the entrance to the tent also has a bottom edge to go over which would be difficult with a wheelchair I'm guessing, or maybe any device on wheels (such as a stove for camping maybe, if it goes inside?) That being said, I don't really think of camping or glamping for wheelchair users.. not that it can't be done for those who are willing and determined. Haha, there's a more off roading wheelchair device called "The Rig" that is made by a company called Not A Wheelchair, and I'm assuming if you were adventurous you could bring one of those on an outdoor trip and explore more easily without use of your legs.

I was so surprised to see that you are going to do it since I’ve been watching them for a little while now. I believe the small zipped pocket at the far end is for an Electric Hook Up (EHU). Power lead. Also pretty sure you can get fitted carpet for these tents. Which zip together, may solve the divider issue.
Definitely ON POINT and explains EVERYTHING! The small shit helps, too! Making me want to save for one!!!! Very detailed! #1 reviewer i ever came across!!!
Excellent review, the best I've watched thus far. I do wish the rain fly had a stove jack. Warming the tent and then can only partially cover the tent.
I agree, it doesn't make much sense to not have the stove jack in the rainfly, the tent itself is water repellent enough that most people dont even use the rainfly, and if rain doesnt make it through the stove jack without the rainfly, you should be able to create one in the rainfly, and the little bit of water it lets through shouldn't matter... in theory lol.
Excellent presentation. I wish the manufacturer would present like you just did, because I probably would have purchased one already. Of course I was dealing with the originals from China, not Amazon. 👍🏼
I have the same exact tent. Used it for the first time this weekend while hunting. It exceeded my expectations. I used an electric pump, took about 6 minutes to inflate. My only concern is the pressure behind the valves when deflating. Awesome tent!!
@RTSoutdoor yup, the first time I deflated it when testing it in my yard, scared the crap out of me. Lol. Had to check to make sure I still had all of my fingers.
You are the best, thanks for that very complete review. I have a question for you, where, what brand and how much did the green base that you placed under the tent cost you? I think it is great and very strong. If you can leave us the link, I would be happy. Thanks friend for your contributions. Never change.
Thanks! YEs so that is a 28mil tarp I got from amazon, I'll leave the link from the exact listing I used, but it looks like that size is not available at the moment so you might have to do a search to find one. 28 mil is nice and thick and provides a good base. Doesnt need to be that thick but I like it lol, it's like rubber on one side and canvas on the other, I put the rubber side down.
Your detail on the whole tent is fantastic. What's your opinion on the chimney opening? Once the chimney is through the hole is there the potential for it to leak?
that is something I wondered myself actually and don't yet have experience with, however.. the opening is a ... sort of fabric I guess? Which you would think would absorb water if it were raining, and eventually begin to drip, but there are alot of videos of this tent being used in rain and snow, and it doesn't appear that is an issue, so it must be a waterproof fabric that is very tight fitting around the chimney. I'll be unboxing the stove soon, so hopefully I can get a better answer for this.
In other air tent videos I've seen a pvc mat laid down beneath the tent. Also, made to measure floor carpets. Are these available as x-tras when purchasing the tent? BTW, there has to be some kind of workaround to make an opening for the stove in the rain cover.
Those options are unfortunately not available on the rbm website right now but I've been keeping an eye out as well. And yes definitely I've been looking at boot kits to put in my own stove jack
When you were talking about black absorbing heat, it made me think... I wonder if there's any solar panels that could go on that roof. Looks like there's plenty of space where solar power could be harnessed over that roof space!
I've seen there is a video on YT of a tent with solar panels but I havent watched it yet. I would think if you used anything like that one this one, it would have be very light and pliable, cause the frame is tough but the tent itself is canvas.
This is my second time watching this particular video. I will tell you from eatching your other video on the smaller tent i stand with my recommendations that all three pieces be on the inside the mesh, the seetheu plastic the shade cover. And the stove jack is too high on this one, it needs to be lowered. The rain fly on this one doesn't accommodate the stove jack👎and you dont get the poles for creating the awning. Whats the dimensions on this tent?
since the plastic windows use a different zipper than the mesh couldnt you just keep the mesh down as well and install the clear plastic for the windows or would it not work? Also is the rain fly needed to be waterproof or just for extra storm worthiness?
Good morning :) So, yes you definitely could leave the mesh windows down and use the plastic windows at the same time, they each have their own zippers. The rainfly is recommended but Ive seen alot of videos of people using this exact tent in the rain and they are not using the rainfly.
According to the description on the website, the tent itself is made of a fabric that "wards off condensation". The description on the instructions says to avoid using it in heavy precipitation, and to use the rainfly. TH-cam is full of videos of this tent being used in downpours without the use of the rainfly, so we know it is treated, but the purpose of the rainfly is to prolong the durability of the tent, as prolonged use in those conditions would eat away at that treatment.
@@RTSoutdoorright. These tents aren't used in the tropics here. The UV rays will destroy it in months and the constant rain from our rain forests..yeah, I wish!
@chrisgatlin5832 you can definitely keep them in place, but what I found is that the more you leave in place the heavier it is. Especially the clear windows and door.
No one covers the fact the rain cover lacks a stove opening. How important is the rain cover? My point is do you have to choose between cold and dry or warm and a tent that potentially leaks? Potentially a deal breaker and its not covered at all by anyone. Confused why they don;t bother with a stove opening?
well if you watched the whole video you know that I did cover that issue. I truly don't know why they would leave that out as it's obviously important for the rainfly to have that stove jack, like on the Panda. However, even though you shouldn't have to, adding a stove jack to the rainfly is something that can be done. The kits are available on amazon.
If the panda was the same size as this tent, you then would have the perfect tent. In my opinion this tent is lacking in four areas (again my opinion). 1st This tent NEEDS the back door with the windows. 2nd having the same ceiling windows as the panda would be 🔥. 3rd the rain fly NEEDS the stove jack. 4th this tent is too big to be pumping it up manually. Imagine doing it in the freezing rain 🥶. An included STRONG rechargeable IP rated airpump would be nice. The Koala v.2 should be just a bigger Panda. You could call it the Sloth 🦥
Totally agree :) I love this tent but it definitely could be better with those changes! I did buy an electric pump actually lol, I even had it when I made this video but I wanted to use the manual pump for the video just to show it. Never again lol! That was grueling! Now I plug that electric pump in and 5 minutes flat it's up :)
Suggestion, go to the party aisle at wallyworld and get some glow in the dark bracelets/necklaces and ziptie to guylines so there's no tripping during the middle of the night pee run.
The whole combo including the tent and stove, is around $3000 right now. Yes you can definitely use a pumppowered by your car cigarette lighter, you just have to have the correct attachment to fit the valve.
I could be wrong but I don't recall saying you had to have the windows closed with the rainfly on. What I did say is if you have the canvas window covers rolled up outside, and the screens in place letting fresh air in, and then it starts to rain, you have to go outside of the tent to roll down the canvas over the windows. Having the rain fly on from the get go, just in case it rains, defeats the purpose of the windows altogether, especially the ones on the roof. That being said... if you roll into your campsite knowing it is more than likely going to rain... I can see applying the rain fly and being prepared, and yes, in those circumstances, you would then not need to do anything more to keep out the rain, including having your windows in whatever position your little heart desires lol :)
@@RTSoutdoor thanks for the response. Do you like the tent? We are a family of 6 and I’m seriously looking at this tent. Ps. Your video was excellent. Maybe I misunderstood the window part.
Yeah sorry I haven't unboxed that yet. I was going to do it last week when it was down in the 30s here, so I could show the temp outside vs the temp inside with the stove, but my wife had a heart attack and we ended up in the hospital a few times for stents. Hopefully will be doing that soon though.
I do agree, the price seems up there, but I'll tell you, everything this tent has to offer has impressed me so much, that I immediately contacted the company and requested to become a brand ambassador, and that is something I just don't do as a rule. I've always felt that anyone promoting a certain product in their videos, is biased with their opinions, but the fact that I paid full price for this one and was so impressed, I just had to have more, and I am beyond proud to now be a representative of this company. And even moving forward with this company, you can completely trust that I will give my honest opinion on the products, because if I feel something could be improved on, it doesn't help the company or the consumer, if I don't say it.
