- MSCS Race at Tri-State Speedway In the Amatti racing 66. Started the night off with the helmet camera in practice. Had a solid heat race running second. The night looked hopeful till a car parks in front of me in the main and I jump a wheel and go for a wild ride. This one hurt! Haven’t crashed this big for a long time. Hate it for the team. Beautiful race car destroyed in seconds. I made a video the day after this crash talking about things that might help if you get in a wreck like this. Link below 👇

Glad you didn’t get hurt. Wild ride, no sudden stops. Car owners know this can happen, can’t help as a driver to feel some pain for them along with the pain your body felt.

Glad you’re ok, always tough to scrap a car - but everyone understands the deal. Love the comment on racing hot rods rather than trailers. Too many folks think you have to have a $1Million trailer to race.

Two days after having one of those is usually the peak of pain and soreness. Glad you're OK enough to not need a meat wagon ride. Several years ago I was there when Brad Sweet hit one out of the park in a non wing car. Your flip reminded me of that. That was a beautiful race car.

Man, first I am glad you walked away from this crash! I so wish when I was younger, I would have gotten into auto racing. I would have loved to race in NASCAR, I have always loved racing, but my health never let me do anything like that and now at 55 years old I would think that opportunity has past if it would have ever been there. With as heavy as I was growing up, I couldn't even fit into a go cart until about 10 years ago after I had weight lose surgery. I remember that day I finally got into a go cart, I think I spent about $400 that day riding as many different types of carts and tracks as possible that weekend. Remember it like it was yesterday, I have nothing but respect for any man or woman who put on a helmet as go racing. Those of you who are on the tracks be as safe as you possibly can!
I was always into cars and performance. I did some drag and street racing, but was scared of go carts till I tried them. 1st time I tried, I won every race, even with my father in law bashing me up against the wall (in good fun of course). I loved it. Wish I had the money to race circle track professionaly. I'm slowly working on my first car (77 Chevy Vega with a 355 SBC) to hopefully drag race sometime soon. It'd be a monster on the strip with 600 HP.

Used to help a buddy out with his asphalt sprint car, he hit the wall so hard it imprinted the pattern of his fire suit into the aluminum knee guards!

I know what it is like to flip end over end. It is not great and I ended up with 3 fractured ribs. The next day I was stiff and sore every where. Glad you're ok.

Thank the lord for the safety of these cars. I race pro late models and I've had some serious crashes that I have walked away from unhurt. I am very thankful for the safety of these cars, cause without the level of safety they have, that could have been far more serious

If there is one thing I can say good about Jack over at J&J is that he builds the car with passion he may not be able to help you very much once the car is yours but when it’s in his possession he does it right.
Glad your back in the saddle, looks like the fuel cell is okay I hope the motor is okay feel bad for the owner looks like they had a lot into the car and an open trailer and all, maybe we could pass the helmet somehow for them. Well Thomas , I know that's difficult to share. Appreciate that you did. You got some hangtime on that one. Car did it's job. Yes it got wrecked. That's what's supposed to happen. It protected you. Absorbed quite a bit of energy that's for sure. The non winged crashes are always worse the winged. All things considered you did well. I saw the video you posted a day or 2 later. How sore your were. I'd certainly expect that after seeing the video. Main thing is you walked away. Maybe a little bit dingy ,but you have to be a bit dingy to drive sprint car anyways right? Keep on keepin' on brother. Your day after video adds a bit more perspective after watching this one. I'll bet the flagman had to go change his shorts!
