- The wreck at @knoxvilleraceway with @WorldofOutlaws driver Carson Macedo was one of the biggest we have seen in recent memory. Miraculously, the driver was able to walk away, and even raced the following weekend at Beaver Dam. We catch up with the driver of the Jason Johnson Racing #41 at the $250,000 To Win #Husets High Bank Nationals. Where there is also a discussion around the format of the event, which pins drivers deep in a heat race starting spot.

I have not heard SHIT HAPPENS in a long time but SHIT DOES HAPPEN Carson you have a beautifil smile
Dude half-assed looks like Jason johnson..sure as hell races like him! Great interview
This guy is down to earth and he is badass behind the wheel. Big salute Chaz😎
Keep up the great content bud.
One of so many reasons to love these guys. Absolutely genuine professional character is a given. Just great honest people for the most part.
That was a hard impact to the wall! Glad he didn't get seriously hurt!
Carson is a class act guy and I am proud to say I saw him get his start racing in California! When he won the 410 KWS series I knew he was the real deal!
thank God he doesn't remember that is one of the greatest gifts God gives us when He puts our brains together
Great interview!
Carson is a class act between him and Gio central Cali is well represented in the sprint car industry
I have newfound respect for Carson.
Awesome interview Chaz
Thanks
Thank you for talking to him. Scary crash, fire is bad, great the safety features and response. Even with the failures. Very fortunate, great getting his story out to us. New fan. Love it.
kinda hard to pull the lever for the fire system if your knocked out. deff should have a proper fire crew
Hardest thing ever is to not remember
Super hard to choose to root for with this current top three Outlwas guys. All extrememly badass drivers and good dudes. Thats being said.... Let go Gravel!! Wont be mad if Carson gets it tho either.
Great interview
Thanks
Hell yeah, Chaz! Great interview
Glad your doing good hope to see you back in the car
The best description of sprint car racing is controlled chaos!
Great interview Chaz, as always. Lots of respect for Carson and glad he’s in good spirits
Great interview sir.
Blake in the back ground
I am hoping the “higher up’s” at the WoO will use this near tragedy to make the needed adjustments! I’m so tired of living in a “reactive” world; common sense will tell most folks to look both ways before crossing the street.
What are the "needed adjustments" you propose?
@@ricmcclemons9438
The interview was in the context of his accident. The Elephant in the room is how to improve on safety at the tracks. Having a dedicated Safety Team at each WoO event, has been on the table in the past.
@@ricmcclemons9438 The first one would be for WOO to have a traveling fire suppression team. Certain tracks do,the IRA does.
After watching this video, I don't think I dislike Carson anymore. His aggressive driving always turned me off but he seems like decent human. Mind changed, for now.... until he RR's someone over the fence then I'll forget about this interview.
Steering Box? Switch from KSE to Lee. He looked wide open to me.
Carson had his steering brake on the straight-a-way @ Terre Haute, last year he drove Larson's car.
That's 2 more times than some drivers have their entire carrier.
Is a broken box what happened to Hodnett?
So glad carson was okay I thought for a sec it was bad
Very hard hit into the wall. Was knocked and on fire when they got to him. And safety crew got him out and walked him 200 foot to the Ambulance. If he would have had a neck/spinal injury they could have paralyzed him or killed him. Stupidest move I have seen in a long time.
Carson, thanks to God you are okay 6/24/23 Carson do you have night mares or your memory lost takes care of that?
I think they need to have the fire supression system built inside the roll cage tubing behind the drivers seat. Who ever designs it and patents it will make a boat load of money as it will become the standard across all motorsports.
Someone also thought the yugo was a good idea.
@chrisburnsed6349 attitudes like yours is why people die.
Ya gotta have it to where it can be replaced if it goes bad or if ya end up using it, if it's in the frame rail then once it's used ya gotta junk an entire chassis, that's jus not feasible...... Did ya really not take 2 min to think about the idea before ya decided to post the comment my man??!?!?
@diychad7268 my neighbor works for Kidde, the largest fire suppression company in the world. He is chief engineer for aircraft applications, they have systems implanted in military and commercial jets within the wing structure and fuel cells the diameter of a broom handle, they last for the life of the jet. Some of these systems were installed as early as the 1960's and have been in continuous use since, they are totally rechargeable and evacuated units, easily maintained. I suggest you educate yourself before you stick your foot in your mouth again lol.
At least he was ok.
Here is my thoughts. Why didn't they just cut his belts so they could have pulled him out of the car?
They did cut his belts
@rickycorbin4626 okay didn't know that
Glad carson is doing good 👍 remember doug Wolfgang got burned really bad in 91 and 2 fellow drivers pulled hem out saved hes life but ended hes racing
It broke his back in that one
Sprint Cars need to slow down, it's just not worth the risk.
All the other sports have their own safety and/or medical team. Racing, action sports, and ball sports I can't think of any other professional athlete that doesn't have it. It is hard to believe that one of the most dangerous ones doesn't have a safety team.
Even the Knoxville fire crew wasn't all that impressive
What are you talking about?? Other than them just straight up putting themselves Into the flames like the two drivers did what do you suggest that they coulda done better exactly??
@@diychad7268 putting the fucking fire out quickly would be a good start.
Good stuff. But with all due respect, please stop talking over the drivers when they are speaking!!
I help sometimes with doing that, sometimes not. Oh well..
Hate the Huset format. Outlaw format is the way to to do it. Gotta be bad fast.
You interrupt and try to finish their sentences way too much it gets annoying
Driver error. Carson drove in too hot, over corrected and lost it.
Wrong IMO
Have you watched the video? Do you know anything at all about physics? The car snapped really hard to the right. That was a mechanical failure and not an over correction.
@@ricmcclemons9438 you see it one way, I see it another way. Either reason can cause that type of wreck. That's the physics of the situation.
