At least Kyle Larson, Kasey Kane, Jeff Gordon, Tony Stewart, and several others still know where their roots are. I've gotten to meet several of them there in Knoxville Iowa.
Because these are descended from old IndyCars. Used to be that back in the early USAC days, the Championship Car series (an ancestor to the modern NTT IndyCar Series) ran on both dirt and pavement, so teams would build cars for both surfaces. Well, the dirt cars and pavement cars eventually split off from each other entirely, with IndyCars becoming the F1-like, cutting-edge machines we know today while the sprint cars retained a version of the shape and layout of those old IndyCars - including the gas tank being right in the back, behind the rear axle.
Believe it or not I was at the track watching the race for the second clip. The scariest part of that has to do with a prior crash, the track used to put the camera and cameraman in the middle of one and 2, but after a car flipped and nearly hit the guy, they moved the camera guy outside of the turn away from any potential crashes. Had they not moved the cameraman’s location a week or 2 prior, it probably would’ve ended much worse
Wondered when they were gonna show some from the greatest sprint car track. Knoxville Iowa. Cars had flipped out of 1 an 2 out onto hwy 14 before.then an old clip with Craig Kinser. I actually met an old couple in a truck stop, when I drove truck.they had 4 midgets and had Kyle Larson drive for them for a while.talked with them for at least 3 hours.oh the stories they'd told.hitting the chili bowl and such
Nah he actually started after larson got him into it. He has improved alot but he's still far off from winning a national 410 sprint car race. He is quite good in a midget which is a different type of open wheel dirt car.
0:17 i know i accidently put Oswego speedway in, not a dirt track
Your good I was just letting you know
They have super dirt week their every year October 2nd - October 8th
Thanks for bringing my attention to those awesome supermodifieds
Finally someone NORMALIZED every clips volume so we didn’t go from hearing nothing to getting our toenails blasted off the next clip! Well done!
Besides the screeching teenager screaming to the top of her lungs at 6:05
Yes man she was loud@@T1C45
@T1C45

2:50 is incredible and terrifying at the same time.
Good crashes and the announcers are hilarious, some of them really get into it. Those sprint care bounce at the slightest wrong move.
2:53 y is the gas tank in such a vulnerable spot? Looks easy to pierce

Kraig kinsler what a im calling that a save what a save that car shouldve been in the fence great driving
2:13 the modified roll at eldora is a buddy of ours
1:27 crazy how much downforce sprint cars make/how much lift they make when backwards

Please do more of these
Lots of ‘ooh upside down’! Here’s an idea…. Put wheels on the roof!

@@dirtracingwa9430should see some of the big crashes that have happened here at the Plex over the years, some absolute doozys
4:57 is a crazy crash into the pit wall he almost caught on fire people who think it was crazy👇
These look like video game crashes.
Some of these announcers are hilarious!!!
Is every crash in dirt racing a red? If so why?
A red flag is raised when a car rolls over, if they don't its a yellow flag
@@Code1EmergencyResponses red flag flip, fire, or driver injury
It depends on severity
What type of cars were those in clip 3?
Supermodifieds
@@crazycars81 oh thank you I’ll probably look them up in a bit
0:41 whats this one?
Some bomber race
Sorry if off topic
1:22 i was here when this happened
3:11 Alex Bowman? He was in these races before NASCAR?
Nah he actually started after larson got him into it. He has improved alot but he's still far off from winning a national 410 sprint car race. He is quite good in a midget which is a different type of open wheel dirt car.

Why so much aggressiveness on grant?
Btw love this
You have to be aggressive to win and there's no spotters in this type of racing so it's all based on sound and limited vision
