That dark square bishop is so elegent and powerful! It was the key attacker AND defender! Literally the star piece. The light square bishop is excellent too but the star of the gamr was Korobov’s dark square bishop 😍
@@amun1040 He had a funny interview when he was playing the Croatian leg of the Grand Chess Tour talking about how his wife sent him to win a lot of money.
At 09:50, if black played knight to b2, then after rook captures pawn with check white has no other good attack. White bishop can't deliver check cos of knight on b2 and if black captures knight with bishop then castle takes black bishop and the 'monster' is off the board and the exchange is equal (white up a couple pawns)
I always enjoy watching 1.d4 games immensely, especially nimzo indian. I may never understand the actual reasons behind it, but doesn't hurt my enjoyment.
#suggestion Arjun Erigaisi won Tata steel rapid and he is 17-18 as well. Alirezza's achievement is way bigger. But not a single game from Tata steel rapid really?
Alireza recent winning streak is up there with the old time great win streaks: Bobby Fischer and Capablanca. Let's hope he continues this great ratio wins for at least a few years!
At the first pause the video - is bishop to d5 bad for black? I think it’s worse than queen captures but what is the response from white for bishop d5?
This kind of reminded me of a game I played recently (although of course it wasn't nearly as good), but some of the themes were the same. Or in other words: This game was simple and complicated, mine was more on just the simple side.
Instead of Ne4 g4 and white threatens Ba6+ queen blocks and mate. If you move queen to protect from it, Ne4 and the same stuff as in the video and if you go f3 then Rc2+ Ke1 gxf3 gxf3 Bxf3 and it seems that black still wins. Oh I thought it was instead of Qb3. Well g4 still works, threats of Ba6 and Rd2 are unstoppable
Maybe this has been already told dozens of times but... Can I say your camera is out of focus (or to be precise it is focusing on your background)? Just a suggestion... anyway great video, as usual!
Since suggestions are being offered I would like to suggest or ask, are there any notable games where the Hippopotamus Defense is played or games where the Hedgehog is played.
#suggestion Agad, you are requested to turn on 'block the comments with link' option on your channel. Because only the spammers are posting comments with links here.
Impressed with the early resignation. No way I would have known it was hopeless at that stage.
@Sharknado Attack do you have a link to the video?
If it was a 400 elo game they would fight for the last second lol
Profile pix: The young version of the semifinal boss in queen gambit

Sargissian’s picture looks like he’s calculating the windmill and realizes it’s lost
Where Koborov's photo looks like he finished the game and looked back at his opponent.
Moral of the story: Do not advance the pawns in front of your castled king before your opponent has also castled on the same side of the board.
@@tigaputradeta4351 This is also a good point!!

"The classic line or the traditional line" yeah agadmator you are quentin tarantino of chess .
Everyone is gangsta until Korobov's wife ask some money.
That's the secret, get him a mistress he also owes money to, Korobov for WC 2024.
I don't get the joke. Isn't he married to Fiona Steil-Antoni (AKA fionchetta)

Lesson of the day: Trade your queen for a rook not a queen

Korobov tilts at windmills and prevails! What a quixotic character.
I see what you did there Sancho! 😉
no bar or library tonight, it's pissing down in Barcelona, I'll share with my friends there in a few days.....
This is the earliest I have ever been for a video
Sargissian is such a cool name I was rooting for him
"There's no escaping the windmills!!" 😂😂...I love it!
Hell yeah brother
5:49 "Nothing really matters" - Ah, the ghost of Freddie Mercury is among the spectators.
Agad going for that Rxe6 check without actually checking on 12:00 made me smile 😅
12:06 that damn rook!!
Korobov's games are always a pleasure to watch.
LMAO. no. it was completely lost no matter what black played
I always enjoy watching 1.d4 games immensely, especially nimzo indian. I may never understand the actual reasons behind it, but doesn't hurt my enjoyment.
#suggestion Martirosyan - Volokitin also from the final round, second board, I believe.
Thenk you very much. I didn't find the second move in the sequence but I was glad that at least the first one was correct.
I was tempted by 20. b4 and lining up the Q with the B on the a1-h8 diagonal.
I bet Sargisyan saw that b4 is nothing )
Same, thought you had to save the Queen
Same, I thought b4 followed by qd4 was going to be the answer but no.
#suggestion Arjun Erigaisi won Tata steel rapid and he is 17-18 as well. Alirezza's achievement is way bigger. But not a single game from Tata steel rapid really?
Yes, he resigned rather than face the onslaught that was to come
Nothing is better than a new agadmator notification
#suggestion To make a Caruana mini saga in Sinquefield Cup 2014 :)
No more extra content till end of Championship
@@equal7958 But I didn't say to make the saga now
One of the nastiest windmills I have seen in quite a long time
Great quote of the day! Every time I think I've got it won, something comes out of left field...
Agadmator. I am one of the first to reply this video. Straight from Uganda❤️❤️❤️❤️
"Damn that Alireza for playing that well" 😄😄
Good that Sargissian resigned early, otherwise he would have worried a lot of discoveries
at 11:34 Rd2 can be played, only the bishop HAS to capture the Rook or white loses the bishop on d5 and if Bxd2 then Kxg7.
Your wind after meals were so funny -------- remember Antonio those good old days when we were together and you were so breezy
Wtf lol
What the fuck did just happen here
There is no escaping the windmills. Well done Agadmator.
Great game
Nice and relaxed. Thx!
Alireza recent winning streak is up there with the old time great win streaks: Bobby Fischer and Capablanca. Let's hope he continues this great ratio wins for at least a few years!
Capablanca*
There's no chess hell worse than being on the wrong side of a windmill.
great move with the bishop
Rather than face b4 Black decided to risk facing a potential windmill. Good Stuff.
There’s no escaping the windmills
Beautiful stuff
Why no coverage of Tata steel India??? #suggestion
its not "it never amazes me", its "it never ceases to amaze me" 10:00
The windmills reminiscent of the Mexico immortal game; that I enjoyed immensely and saw once a while :)
The Korobov looks like Newman from Seinfeld
Simple yet complicated......exactly as everything is.
i miss the "continuing the Morphy saga" sentence
I could tell Korobov would win - just by his mysterious picture.
If this game had gone any further, Don Quixote would have showed up to attack the chessboard with his lance
At the first pause the video - is bishop to d5 bad for black? I think it’s worse than queen captures but what is the response from white for bishop d5?
Qe4 and black's knight is hanging, which is also one of the defenders for the bishop if Bd5 is played. But that's just my take on that position.
At 11:01, why can't white play Rf7 for a discovery check, then capture the black rook?
This kind of reminded me of a game I played recently (although of course it wasn't nearly as good), but some of the themes were the same. Or in other words: This game was simple and complicated, mine was more on just the simple side.
If Czec Republic won it and I were their prez I would name it 'Mate Republic'
Isn't Rc1 check possible on move 24?.Then if white King plays d2 then black can play Rc8?.
I had a windmill once but the sails broke off
Oh shoot!
The first pause the video.... why doesn't black queen to D5 work?? Cos that's what I would play.
Korobov's picture looks like a classical painting
🔥🔥
King escape from discovery king again comes under discovery escape from discovery ah shit here we go again
Pain.

When will you make a video about vincent keymer?
"There's no escaping the windmills" should be the title!
True that! Show someone trying to get off of one lol
1:14 A bit confused, isn't classical/traditional the same meaning here? Qc2 maybe the modern line?
Lichess calls 4. Qc2 the "Classical Variation" (E32) and 4. e3 the "Normal Line" (E40)

Absolutely insane!
Should do a ff7 playthrough on stream sometime brah, would be chill af
#suggestion duda vs nisipeanu poland vs germany nice king walk and beat gm in 25 moves
5:50, isn't Qb4 a defense? Or I missed something
still gonna play rook and the queen is lost
If white plays Qb4 then black can play a5 attacking the queen.
Oh I thought it was instead of Qb3. i didnt understand bobby fisher 60memorable books annotation can you please explain what is P-K4, P-K3,N-KB3?? what are all these moves?
Why I didn't see such moves in my games🥲
Maybe this has been already told dozens of times but... Can I say your camera is out of focus (or to be precise it is focusing on your background)? Just a suggestion... anyway great video, as usual!
that rook is pure humiliation, glad he resigned
you should remove the 5 euros next to elias's birthday message to preserve the sanctity of the gift ! :)
France failed to get first place despite Alireza's winning streak and MVL's 2 win no loss.
Guy won without moving his king, bishop and rook
Since suggestions are being offered I would like to suggest or ask, are there any notable games where the Hippopotamus Defense is played or games where the Hedgehog is played.
Throwback: His wife
Is it just me that find korobovs pic very disturbing?
simple and complicated 😆
“Damn that alireza for playing that well”😂😂😂😂😂 if super GM draws then there’s a problem if he wins thn other problems 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
#suggestion can you cover one of Javaba games where he found a wonderful knight move to gain an advantage
#suggestion Baadur Jobava - Mustafa Yilmaz, round 6 European Team Chess Championship
I dont get why you just cant win the rook with lightsquare bishop check on d3 in the last sequence. Agadmators line seems unnecessarily complex
If bishop capture, you only win the exchange; in the line from the video, you win a full rook
There is a Knight on C3. The bishop would be captured.
For a second I thought: "RORY SUTHERLAND plays chess!!!!!!??"

Amazing how white won this with an undeveloped rook and light square bishop & the king still on e1.

Why the windmills?

Agad, do you know who are Magnus' and Ian's seconds for the world chess championship?
GM Vladimir Potkins is second to GM Ian Nepominyatchi .Not knowing of Magnusses stuff.
sometimes bishops are worth more than queen...
After queen takes rook, is there a forced mate combination......
