It would be great for me if this "parallel universe" has to do with the ending of the first. Thinking they may be using your save file or ask about some choices you did on first game, or at least ending, so the Alternate reality is the "what if" version of the one you did not choose and it had these extra ramifications. Also, it would be a great reason on why Max would use her powers again, since learning or seeing that you your choice had more consequences years ahead than thought, affecting even on people she is close to in the future would certainly be enough to shake one's "determination" again, specially when you thought that whole topic was "closed". Maybe it's a stretch, but even without that, I will still play it since the 1st one has such a unique feeling and Max was a great character. Also really liked having those little differences when talking with someone about how my story differed or how I handled certain events from them.

Yes I completely agree! I’d like this game, and its themes, to connect with what she went through in Arcadia. I wonder how they’ll incorporate it??
