This would only last a few hours most likely. For a multi-day even you would be better off creating an either latex or silicone prosthetic that can be attacted with pros aide. But even prosthetics would optimally need to be removed daily for your health and safety.
You may be able to recreate it using clay and casting it in latex, but you will need to have some alcohol activated body paint to color it or make sure you seal the color on with some form of sealant if you end up using pretty much any other type of paint
I am wonder does this stiffen and hurt the skin or make it feel tight like you can’t stretch with it? I want to do this on my kids arms and hands because they want to be dragons for Halloween but they hate stuff making their skin feel tight or stiff.
I apologize for all the questions but how do you make the scales?? Everytime I try to do them it always sticks and it never shapes itself. Do you have an tips??
Dont apologize, I love getting the questions. My biggest tip for using synwax is to make sure you coat your tools in a thin layer of petroleum jelly and reapply it to the tools when the material begins to stick to it. Try to make sure that whatever tool you are using is either metal, plastic, or glass (i.e. smooth and non porous) which will help keep the synwax from sticking as well. As for shaping the scales, I use the tool to carefully dig into the synwax but make sure your not going all the way through the material to your skin, and cut out small circular shapes.I hope this helps if you have any more question feel free to ask :)
Thanks for the feedback, I agree it was a terrible choice of music. I've been working hard learning more about audio and video production so that future videos are less irritating ❤️
U must be a very cool mom! 😎 and I love the shiny silver scales!

Thank you, this is perfect! Now I can do dragon scales for my next cosplay, definitely subscribing!
Awe thank you, I'm glad that you learned something from the video. I was hoping that I explained the process well enough for everyone to recreate it.
Same I'm doing a dinosaur and this looked the best even if it's for a dragon lol
Wow, thanks
You are very welcome! Thanks for watching
Been practicing this technique for a bit, thank you so much for the tutorial!

I'm glad it could help you out 😊
Thank you for your tutorial. I am just wondering how long this would last, looking at a few days wear for an event.

This is going to help a lot!!!

Yes please more scaly makeup tutorial videos
I'll get right on that 💛
Nice tutorial
Thank you 💜
Is there any chance to make this reusable to save time for next appliances?

Amazing! what is the sealer you talked about? I always been scared on using wax because it can come off easily!
It's called Fixative A by mehron that's mostly used for prosthetics
How does she only have 11 subs
Hi, thanks for the tutorial. Most of your links aren't active anymore, including the ones inside your blog/page
Thank you for letting me know. I will update as many of them as I can. For now you can access all of my active links via linktr.ee/slperryman1
Question. What's the difference between scar wax and synwax?
Scar wax is harder and you need to use pros-aide or some other adhesive to get it to stick to your skin from my experience
Hello ! What are you spraying into the eye shadow palette when doing in between the scales
It was setting spray but you can use water, the setting spray just evaporates a bit quicker and allows the shadow to dry.
I am wonder does this stiffen and hurt the skin or make it feel tight like you can’t stretch with it? I want to do this on my kids arms and hands because they want to be dragons for Halloween but they hate stuff making their skin feel tight or stiff.
No it doesnt get stiff, it actually gets more pliable as it warms up on the skin, it is super sticky though and kind of a pain to clean off.
muy bueno!
Gracias!
I'm considering doing a cosplay that would require scales on my face, would this be safe for facial use? It wouldn't be near my eyes, but still.
Yes it's safe for facial use just a pain to remove because its sticky
Thank
You

I know petroleum jelly and Vaseline are a bit different. Can we use Vaseline or is petroleum jelly recommended
They are both petroleum based so you can use either and get the same results.

Vous pouvez toujours créer un moule en silicone ou en latex à l’avance avec de l’argile, ce qui éliminera le besoin d’utiliser le mastic.

Have you ever watched this video yourself? I did enjoy watching it, but the terrible background tune is really driving me nuts!
