Actually adding another powered rockville sub will boost it another 6 db not 3 db. Remember 3 db for doubling the cone area and another 3 db for doubling the power.

Great video! What low pass for the Everse 8 on the ELX12? They don't have a setting.
How would the Rockville compare to the $350 Behringer B1200?

One of sound presets on Everse8 is realy close to ZLX performance (compare charts). But the best results (subjective) I obtain using 120 Hz crossover setting on both.

Actually it takes an increase of 3db for it to be noticed. It takes +6db for the sound level to seem twice as loud for the most part.
The Rockville has a peak output of 115db while the EV has a peak rating of 129db. As he pointed out I found that the EV can keep on going even though the clip indicator is on. It's just a much more reliable product designed for the working pro.
I learned over the years to go with pro level gear such as QSC, EV, JBL. The warranty is better and the gear has been road tested before they release it.

Reviewers always try to compare speakers at the same 12 oclock setting on the volume control. This is meaningless and misleading as it has different gain values from one speaker to another. It is not an indication of equal power applied to the speaker cabinets at that setting. It doesn't even tell you what the sensitivity of the driver is unless you place an oscilloscope at the amp output to measure voltage. We don't know if each driver is receiving the same amount of power so the comparison is meaningless unless you confirm both drivers are receiving the exact same power. The maximum volume test is the only thing valid and that's really all you should show unless you're willing to open the cabinet and take careful measurements of amp output.

The Rockville Sub has no vent nor fan. you have to remove the amp plat and install fans as well as drill holes because the amp is sitting in like a shoe box with no way for the amp to cool down. so it gets HOT ASAP! great pounding speaker though. @Discjockeynews can you add fans, and show us the results of that please? Im going to do it to my sub today when my fans come in.

No disrespect sir but I think you might want to put in a little more time and get those speakers dialed in with some mains you’re not doing justice to either one. I’ve got 10” powered Rockville subs that I pair with 2 with 10” powered alto mains. Granted not top of the line but I’ve got them dialed in and let me tell you the little rig PUMPS! I’ve been doing this for a long time and no matter what brand you have it’s a must to dial them in so you’re able to push your equipment to the limit and a little bit more. It’s possible trust me. For the price point I’d go with the Rockville all day long.

Realy love compact elx200-12sp, hate lack of delay and reverse polarity in its DSP. If only one piece of Rockville 12 is enough for your purposes forever, buy it. In all other cases is EV better choice.

How MUCH extra $ is the EV!? I have 4 passive Rockville PBG-18's.. no problems with a Rockville RPA-16 for each pair.. I bet the EV is 4 times as much money..LOL

A few mistakes here in this video, it takes 10db for the sound to be perceived as twice as loud. 3db is the bare minimum the human ear can differentiate a difference in perceived loudness. So 4db or 5db will not be perceived as twice as loud, it would just be a noticeable change in perceived loudness. As expected though, the results reflect their respective price points.

Wondering if the 18 inch rockville is a good sub for theater LOL 18s just sound so much better than an 8,10 or 12 in my personal opinion.

dONT BUY ROCKVILLE SUBS. They are crap. I used 2 of them, and had amp replaced on both of them and the woofer in one under a year of use. They only have one year warranty. After that you have to buy replacement parts yourself. If you are in the business, just spend higher and get better stuff instead of paying again and again.

Yup Rockville is shit. Had to replace the amp twice on the bar system sub we use. It never even clipped. However Rockville makes decent uplights. Speakers no the EV would own that Rockville when pushed hard.

A Yamaha DXS12 Mk2 will eat that EV junk for breakfast and it costs less.
