One question do you think the q600 would work with a different brand sub, and still use the swa9200s speakers? It is amazing in my size room for movies, but music loses the low warmth a lower bass tone would give. While I'm ranting again, I find the sub sound smoother in Bluetooth mode, which I use for TV games and music, but definitely hdmi for movies. Thanks again 🙃
A word of caution when it comes to the klipsch cinema 600, the power supply is known to be faulty. I had a issue after a year and a half of use and it died. With no help from klipsch and no replacement parts offered, i had to DIY a fix with a aftermarket power supply. Luckily I was able to fix it with a 15 dollar part that saved my investment of almost 1000 dollars.

I just purchased the Q600C to replace the Q60C that was causing nothing but problems with the Samsung TV. We live in an apartment, and I really appreciate the improvement in the sound quality. I have to be careful with the volume of the sub as the neighbors upstairs will start complaining. This is a great system for the price ($399) and I am really pleased that I can understand the dialogue much better with the improved Q600C.
There are quite a few Samsung 8" subwoofers popping up for sale lately and they pair with the 600 (at least from the R series forward), and this makes a huge difference in the impact of this bar. I picked up a sub from a pawn shop for $20 for my son's 600, the difference was night and day.

I just ordered the Sammy Q600C and I’m so excited to use it! Got a brand new on sale here in the Philippines from around $450 to just around $270. It will be my first Dolby Atmos soundbar. Oddly enough, the compact and underwhelming sub box was what sold me on the q600c. As a considerate apartment dweller, the lady downstairs would have a fit if I started pumping that giant down firing klipsch thing.
With the q-cinama series now being at the C version, the q700b is about the same price as the q600c. It would be interesting to see how these two match up!
Just an addition for Samsung TV owners, the graphic eq is shown on screen if you press up on the home bar sound setting, the Bluetooth speaker select is above the sound output for soundbar, and picture setting is above picture mode. Hope this is of use 🙃

@@DF-ec9de from a sound point of view, and lounge aesthetics, it's great. The only "issue" I have is that sometimes it doesn't wake up properly via eARC, and I need to switch my TV's sound output to something else and back to eARC I cannot say if this is an issue with my TV (LG CX), or the soundbar
No - you can manage interactions with the remote -- but for bars with WiFi capability (the 600s don’t have WiFi) you will need to connect for AirPlay and other streaming app capability. I don’t have all the changes on hand … it could be the upward firing drivers were changed but I would double check on that

Hi, i really hope you will reply. I have the Klipsch Cinema 600 and it just stopped switching on after just under 5 months of ownership. I dont know whether they will refund me, but should I go with the Q800C? Will ot be powerful enough? I enjoyed the powerful bass and the 107db of the Cinema 600 5.1. It just seems very unreliable.
My 600 has been good for 3 years now … but its homey style makes it believable that it may not be extremely robust over time. If you really like the bass output then there is a decent probability you won’t be satisfied by Samsung. They should refund and or replace

Go for q800 if you want Atmos. I have the q600, and with the rears it's a fantastic 5.1, but not heavy on the Atmos height.effect. Its really good all round tho 🙃
Hey dude, should I have this in surround mode and should it be getting 5.1 or 7.1 sound going into it? (600c) I'd like to set and forget and use it with nvidia shield. I watch a lot of dts and atmos :)
Plug your main source into the input, but any settings will be on your device. Standard is the only setting worth using for straight out Atmos or DTS 🙃

It's a little more expensive, but any chance of reviewing a 5.1 roku system? It's about $700 for a full 5.1 system (with the 10" sub) and has a built in roku. I'd be really interested in your opinion. Thanks.

Good review/comparison. The more flat/neutral base is attractive to me. I'm one of those weirdos who likes really flat, unaccented sound and I have a really small room I want a bar for. I really like the appeal of a little less base and more sunshine in the upper end and mids. Guess it's the Q600 for me ( edit: that and the fact I can pick it up for just over £200) Thanks for your work.
I'm confused about the up firing drivers from the Q600C that you mentioned. I read elsewhere that there are no upfire drivers for the Q600C, that it has wholes that leak sound up from the front drivers. Is that information incorrect? Here is the info: "Unlike the HW-Q700C series, it does not include upward-facing speakers, which makes Dolby Atmos playback less spectacular. It does, however, use the Acoustic Beam system, which emits sound upward through ported tubes, providing virtual Dolby Atmos playback. It also features HDMI eARC, 3rd generation Q-Symphony support, and the option to add rear speakers for a surround sound system."
Samsung calls the system 3.1.2 ch system so they are claiming two discrete upward firing channels (I had a number of discussions with them). There are 9 speakers - please tell me how these 9 speakers could be distributed if 2 speakers were not up top - you get really goofy answers
I think this came from Q600B version where they had up firing speakers in housing but supposedly didn’t work? I read this when researching so don’t quote me 100%
I have a open floor plan with no wall behind my couch but instead a kitch and dinning room. Ive been looking at the q700 but i dont know if its worth the extra coin then the q600 but then at the same time i wonder should i save more and go for the better 800 900 series 🤔
Have not compared them. It you’re gonna for a higher tier make sure the sub is a different form factor that would make a significant difference in the sound. Also a t some point your surround option gets better which may be appealing in the future - so pay attention to those details
Where has the world come to. There were times it was embarrassing, taboo to buy Hi Fi speakers from manufacturers which specialized in audio components (Sony, Denon etc..). But it seems that mainstream electronics brands are catching up. For me , being a Klipsch admirer, it is disappointing to aee it lose to "a Samsung". But i guess that's due to the smart move Samsung did acquiring Harman Kardon. Although i would have liked to see them differntiate the soundbar business with a more Audiophile 'aroma', branding the higher end models to be Lexicon or Mark Levinson (both HK brands, owned by Samsung). I think Samsung strategy is mainly focused on mainstream consumers, trying to to bundle them up to a one brand TV / Soundbar setups. i think thats a marketing mistake, since no audiophile would buy a Samsung branded soundbar, be it the Q990 high end model. Thats like trying to sell Toyota Crown in America....you have Lexus for that!
Thank you so much for this. I have the Q600C and I couldn’t find any real reviews of it on TH-cam. The dry humor is great and the review is comprehensive, thanks again! One last thing, I actually thought the bass was hitting pretty decent while playing my music but I’m comparing against my TCL alto I previously had so maybe I’m not the best judge lol. I will be getting the accompanying rear speakers soon so maybe I can update on my thoughts after but so far I love this soundbar.
Appreciate the comment …. I saw there was not a serious review … partly why I did this one. Your bass observation is likely similar to my thought that not comparing side by side with superior subs … and you’re not hyper bass sensitive … it will come across as fine or maybe more than fine … but if you were to listen to the cinema 600 side by side the difference would be extremely clear … I think deeeep bass is not as critical for music as big cinematic scenes. Rears make a big difference!
*I wanted to update if I may* I’ve had the rears for close to a month now. A few things I’ve noticed. If you have the Voice enhancer on, these rears become almost nonexistent because you don’t have to put the volume up very loud to hear and for most cases, these rears don’t kick in all that much unless your volume is a little higher than usual. How much sound you get from these rears are truly dependent on what you are watching. Some shows or movies truly utilize wider sound ranges and gaming on an Xbox Series X definitely utilizes it well. Sounds like a person is behind your shoulder while playing, pretty cool. All in all, I wasn’t blown away by these rear speakers at first but once I found the niche for them, I actually like them quite a bit. Adds some nice depth to your listening experience that you would not be able to achieve otherwise.
I think there may be some wattage differences and other features like wireless Dolby Atmos … I’d recommend just going into comparo mode on the website to be sure
I have them both, the unit is bigger in 700 , including the 700 have real upfiring dedicated speaker unlike the upfiring aqiustic beam tweeter in 600 series
I have the Q930b as my main SB but in my Bedroom I have the Majority Sierra plus and I have to say I've always been impressed and it still amazes me from time to time, I got it for a lot less than these two in review and I reckon it beats them as it still pleases after hearing the 930b which can be found in this price range if you shop around, Q930b would be game over here
I agree the Q930B would be game over - but these bars drop lower than what I advertised (all over the place ) - I think on average these are significantly lower in price but not enough for comfort

Finally a review on the Q600c!! I’m thinking about getting this for the tv setup at home. We finally upgraded to A75L and I feel like this will be a big jump in quality without breaking the bank. I just wish the subwoofer was a little more heavier Would the POLK S4 do the same or better job than the Q600c?
The sub is great in a lounge, it's not earth shattering but will definitely enhance your sound more so than reviews state. Not a home cinema sub by any stretch but very good response down to 30hz. Try ready player 1 or bladerunner and you will see 🙃
I have Sony A80K, between Samsung Q990c and Sony Ht-A7000(with sub and rears)which is best given that q990c does not support q symphony and Dolby Atmos for sony tv, please any advice
Well the C absolutely supports atmos if you plug right into it and use as a pass through. Maybe the 4K 60hz limitation is not acceptable - idk I have trouble recommending the 7000 over the C.
The S series is more lifestyle and prioritizes slim so the bar probably won’t be as cinematic. Though don’t have experience with this series so can’t advise that strongly
Is it worth going for the Q800C for an extra $150? I have never bought any soundbar before, so I dont really know what to expect. The Q600C is currently on sale for around $200 which seems like a steal.
Are you saying you can get the 800C for $350? If so get that one - it would be a far more enhanced product. Further I think it opens up the possibility of better rears of your wanted to expand further down the line. If you always just had tv sound then expect a great awakening and a nugget of resentment that you have not gotten a SB earlier. SBs these days “though people gripe about them” are transformative

I don't know if I am thinking too much about it though. Also, I plan to use it in a very room, so I don't know if I will have the space for the satellite speakers.
Hello, I have a Sony KDL-55W805C TV (or 808C, I don't remember), I bought it in 2017, so only now, after so many years, I want to change something and test 2 soundbars: Bose TV Speaker 3.0 100 W soundbar and the second one 200W Samsung HW-Q600C. Both prices are identical, approximately PLN 1,150. Of course, the difference is noticeable even to a deaf person - the TV speakers are no longer suitable for listening after connecting both devices. I have a dilemma which one to leave. Even though Bose does not have a separate bass speaker, it does a great job and I am very pleased with it, it does not take up much space under the TV and is elegant. The Samsung, on the other hand, is much larger and has a separate speaker for the bass, so the bass is more noticeable and catches my ear better than the Bose (but I must emphasize that I like both). Recently, I listened to a Soundbar for PLN 2,600 at my family's house and for me the bass was like crazy :) I connected both soundbars to the TV with an HDMI Arc cable and this is how I listen to and test them. I feel like it would be quieter when viewed optically, but I'll check it out later. At the beginning, I couldn't handle the Samsung because I turned the volume up to 100% and it played much quieter than the Bose, e.g. at 40%, I set something in it and now it's at 12-15% and it's loud, the night mode was turned on, which makes it quiet. probably everything except the sopranos :) I have a TV with Play via optical fiber, I run Amazon Prime, TH-cam, Netflix, etc. and only on TH-cam it is the quietest, while on the rest of the applications it is loud. I noticed something like this: a Disney cartoon is playing in English, it's very loud at volume e.g. 15, I change the language to PL and I have to turn the volume to 100% and there's nothing great either. Why is this the case with Samsung? I'm still checking if it's the same with Bose, but I think it will be the same everywhere. Does YT or the Polish language have a different sound coding and that's why it plays so much quieter? I still need to check what the sound will be like from PS5 and from a pendrive with a movie.
My C600 died after 3 years of usage. They have many issues with their power supplies. It was also giving some kind of software lag to my SONY X90J TV when connected through HDMI ARC. Unfortunately, mine had a problem with the other board which was too much for me to figure out. Don't waste your money.
I own both and tbh the Klipsch is way better even with that codecs of the Samsung, cinema 600 has crisp notes and BIG DEEP BASS over the Samsung The Atmos experience on this samsung is not really good at all
yes the Klipsch 600 is a good soundbar. One of the best i have owned especially with rear speakers. To bad it's not up to date on features, connections and sound codecs. I would have kept it. The new Yamaha's look good to but again No DTS support. kills it for me.

I also have the same issue, after two years my 600 won't turn on anymore, it would be helpful and much appreciated if you can provide a link to a fix.
I unplug mine wait for a while then plug it back in and it will come back on

Same here. Mine is currently in default mode, which sounds good, but I may play around with the settings to see if I like it even more.

You don't need it, you can adjust your preferred settings via the remote once and forget about it

You have sound modes … you don’t have traditional controls you may be seeking from AVR.

Hey dude, should I have this in surround mode and should it be getting 5.1 or 7.1 sound going into it? (600c) I'd like to set and forget and use it with nvidia shield. I watch a lot of dts and atmos :)
Plug your main source into the input, but any settings will be on your device. Standard is the only setting worth using for straight out Atmos or DTS 🙃

Q600 with rears sounds amazing. Mine cost £420 all together. Does give some height, but mostly in Dts, which is odd, but true 🙃

I thought the q990c was the newer Samsung Soundbars ? Or is the 600c version like a mini version of the 990c ?
Both 23 models… indicated by the C - the number indicates its mini as 600 is less than 990

Ok so the 600c seems great with one major flaw: the bass. So with that being said, how can I upgrade the subwoofer? Any help would be appreciated!
You would need to DIY a solution … Frankenstein a bigger sub using parts from the original
Honestly I don't see the issue with the sub. Do people want super explosive room shaking bass at low overall volumes?
Different people have different needs for the sub, for me it's already enough

I'm one of those weirdos who likes really flat, unaccented sound and I have a really small room I want a bar for.
I really like the appeal of a little less base and more sunshine in the upper end and mids. Guess it's the Q600 for me ( edit: that and the fact I can pick it up for just over £200)

I'm confused about the up firing drivers from the Q600C that you mentioned. I read elsewhere that there are no upfire drivers for the Q600C, that it has wholes that leak sound up from the front drivers. Is that information incorrect?

Samsung calls the system 3.1.2 ch system so they are claiming two discrete upward firing channels (I had a number of discussions with them). There are 9 speakers - please tell me how these 9 speakers could be distributed if 2 speakers were not up top - you get really goofy answers
I think this came from Q600B version where they had up firing speakers in housing but supposedly didn’t work? I read this when researching so don’t quote me 100%
The upfiring use samsung aqousic beam tech( for treble only) .. not real speaker drivers such as on the q700 series
I have a open floor plan with no wall behind my couch but instead a kitch and dinning room. Ive been looking at the q700 but i dont know if its worth the extra coin then the q600 but then at the same time i wonder should i save more and go for the better 800 900 series 🤔
Have not compared them. It you’re gonna for a higher tier make sure the sub is a different form factor that would make a significant difference in the sound. Also a t some point your surround option gets better which may be appealing in the future - so pay attention to those details
The klipsch cinima 600 or Samsung q800? . Samsung wints in movie options but for bass ? Klipsch sub goes about 20 hertz. How about Samsung sub
Where has the world come to. There were times it was embarrassing, taboo to buy Hi Fi speakers from manufacturers which specialized in audio components (Sony, Denon etc..). But it seems that mainstream electronics brands are catching up. For me , being a Klipsch admirer, it is disappointing to aee it lose to "a Samsung". But i guess that's due to the smart move Samsung did acquiring Harman Kardon. Although i would have liked to see them differntiate the soundbar business with a more Audiophile 'aroma', branding the higher end models to be Lexicon or Mark Levinson (both HK brands, owned by Samsung). I think Samsung strategy is mainly focused on mainstream consumers, trying to to bundle them up to a one brand TV / Soundbar setups. i think thats a marketing mistake, since no audiophile would buy a Samsung branded soundbar, be it the Q990 high end model. Thats like trying to sell Toyota Crown in America....you have Lexus for that!

One last thing, I actually thought the bass was hitting pretty decent while playing my music but I’m comparing against my TCL alto I previously had so maybe I’m not the best judge lol. I will be getting the accompanying rear speakers soon so maybe I can update on my thoughts after but so far I love this soundbar.
Appreciate the comment …. I saw there was not a serious review … partly why I did this one. Your bass observation is likely similar to my thought that not comparing side by side with superior subs … and you’re not hyper bass sensitive … it will come across as fine or maybe more than fine … but if you were to listen to the cinema 600 side by side the difference would be extremely clear … I think deeeep bass is not as critical for music as big cinematic scenes. Rears make a big difference!

I’ve had the rears for close to a month now. A few things I’ve noticed. If you have the Voice enhancer on, these rears become almost nonexistent because you don’t have to put the volume up very loud to hear and for most cases, these rears don’t kick in all that much unless your volume is a little higher than usual.
How much sound you get from these rears are truly dependent on what you are watching. Some shows or movies truly utilize wider sound ranges and gaming on an Xbox Series X definitely utilizes it well. Sounds like a person is behind your shoulder while playing, pretty cool.
All in all, I wasn’t blown away by these rear speakers at first but once I found the niche for them, I actually like them quite a bit. Adds some nice depth to your listening experience that you would not be able to achieve otherwise.

I think there may be some wattage differences and other features like wireless Dolby Atmos … I’d recommend just going into comparo mode on the website to be sure
I have them both, the unit is bigger in 700 , including the 700 have real upfiring dedicated speaker unlike the upfiring aqiustic beam tweeter in 600 series

I have the Q930b as my main SB but in my Bedroom I have the Majority Sierra plus and I have to say I've always been impressed and it still amazes me from time to time, I got it for a lot less than these two in review and I reckon it beats them as it still pleases after hearing the 930b which can be found in this price range if you shop around, Q930b would be game over here
I agree the Q930B would be game over - but these bars drop lower than what I advertised (all over the place ) - I think on average these are significantly lower in price but not enough for comfort
Got the Q600C for free with a Samsung S90C TV in the UK. Definitely great sound in my small living room and Dolby Atmos blows the walls off.

The sub is great in a lounge, it's not earth shattering but will definitely enhance your sound more so than reviews state. Not a home cinema sub by any stretch but very good response down to 30hz. Try ready player 1 or bladerunner and you will see 🙃
I have Sony A80K, between Samsung Q990c and Sony Ht-A7000(with sub and rears)which is best given that q990c does not support q symphony and Dolby Atmos for sony tv, please any advice
Well the C absolutely supports atmos if you plug right into it and use as a pass through. Maybe the 4K 60hz limitation is not acceptable - idk I have trouble recommending the 7000 over the C.

The S series is more lifestyle and prioritizes slim so the bar probably won’t be as cinematic. Though don’t have experience with this series so can’t advise that strongly
Is it worth going for the Q800C for an extra $150? I have never bought any soundbar before, so I dont really know what to expect. The Q600C is currently on sale for around $200 which seems like a steal.
Are you saying you can get the 800C for $350? If so get that one - it would be a far more enhanced product. Further I think it opens up the possibility of better rears of your wanted to expand further down the line. If you always just had tv sound then expect a great awakening and a nugget of resentment that you have not gotten a SB earlier. SBs these days “though people gripe about them” are transformative

I have a Sony KDL-55W805C TV (or 808C, I don't remember), I bought it in 2017, so only now, after so many years, I want to change something and test 2 soundbars:
Bose TV Speaker 3.0 100 W soundbar and the second one
200W Samsung HW-Q600C.
Both prices are identical, approximately PLN 1,150.
Of course, the difference is noticeable even to a deaf person - the TV speakers are no longer suitable for listening after connecting both devices.
I have a dilemma which one to leave. Even though Bose does not have a separate bass speaker, it does a great job and I am very pleased with it, it does not take up much space under the TV and is elegant. The Samsung, on the other hand, is much larger and has a separate speaker for the bass, so the bass is more noticeable and catches my ear better than the Bose (but I must emphasize that I like both).
Recently, I listened to a Soundbar for PLN 2,600 at my family's house and for me the bass was like crazy :)
I connected both soundbars to the TV with an HDMI Arc cable and this is how I listen to and test them. I feel like it would be quieter when viewed optically, but I'll check it out later.
At the beginning, I couldn't handle the Samsung because I turned the volume up to 100% and it played much quieter than the Bose, e.g. at 40%, I set something in it and now it's at 12-15% and it's loud, the night mode was turned on, which makes it quiet. probably everything except the sopranos :)
I have a TV with Play via optical fiber, I run Amazon Prime, TH-cam, Netflix, etc. and only on TH-cam it is the quietest, while on the rest of the applications it is loud. I noticed something like this: a Disney cartoon is playing in English, it's very loud at volume e.g. 15, I change the language to PL and I have to turn the volume to 100% and there's nothing great either. Why is this the case with Samsung?
I'm still checking if it's the same with Bose, but I think it will be the same everywhere.
Does YT or the Polish language have a different sound coding and that's why it plays so much quieter?

My C600 died after 3 years of usage. They have many issues with their power supplies. It was also giving some kind of software lag to my SONY X90J TV when connected through HDMI ARC. Unfortunately, mine had a problem with the other board which was too much for me to figure out. Don't waste your money.
I own both and tbh the Klipsch is way better even with that codecs of the Samsung, cinema 600 has crisp notes and BIG DEEP BASS over the Samsung

yes the Klipsch 600 is a good soundbar. One of the best i have owned especially with rear speakers. To bad it's not up to date on features, connections and sound codecs. I would have kept it. The new Yamaha's look good to but again No DTS support. kills it for me.
