I just received an email, the stylophone DS-2 Drone synth will be available for purchase tomorrow. An email link to buy now will be sent to those who signed up.
I'm a huge fan of the RX-1602 mixer. I started with one of them 3 years ago and I'm now up to five of them in my setup. They have truly been a blessing in allowing my GAS (I can relate to the picture at the end of the video) to actually make music rather than simply collect gear. I use them just like you said- multiple stereo synths into my audio interface. I keep two on my studio desks to be able to just reach over and tweak the sound when mixing and the others chain into these "master" mixers. So much better than using my large and now unused console mixers. Thank you Behringer for such a great affordable mixer that provides so many inputs in a 1U form factor. They sound great too!
A quick tip, match the mixer with an Ultrapatch patchbay underneath it. With that and a few leads you can 'normal' (connect directly) your synths, but use the sockets to temporarily override that with a different synth, or add an effects loop. It saves a lot of fiddling about in the back of the rack having all your sockets on the front. Just a shame I can't post a photo here to show you what I mean 🙂
That little 1602 mixer is a great piece of kit, I use 2 as submixers because due to Behringer I've been buying lots of synths & drum machines & my main mixer is full. However, as you'll find soon enough, using the 16 inputs for diferent pieces of gear introduces limitations. That's why I got the second 1602. Keep up the good work.
once again great video guys definitely going to order the behringer eurorack pro rx1602 looks a very useful bit of kit cheers lads like you still waiting for my lm drum & wave come on Andertons
STEPS looks like a clone of the Mutable Instruments Stages module. A good choice, it's very flexible. And I've had an RX1602 Mixer as a central fixture in my setup for I think, more than 15 years-- a critical piece of kit. Just bought a SPICE as well, I'm impressed by how solid a build it is, and started getting great sounds out of it straight away.
I had to look up the Behringer 1602 just to see up close what it is? I actually got one last year that I haven't wired it in yet. It was part of a lot which included that several other 16 channel 1 rack space line mixers, several XLR Behringer 16 channel line mixers, and several multi-channel TRS snakes. My goal is to use all this with my synthroid once I get it all set up? I am still awaiting arrival of the 960 sequencer in rackmount gizmo, darned snow!
I just got one of those RX1602 mixers for all my Behringer gear and it's great value. It sounds decent, with not too much noise. Only downside is I need to buy more cables because my micro and mini synth cables don't quite reach my rack.
I've got the same RX1602 mixer. Let me warn you now about head room or the lack thereof. EQ in post is not going to be enough depending on what, and how much, you're sending into it. I had the same thought of 16 channels mixing down to 2 and then adjusting it from there but you will quickly run out of head room in the mix without processing your signal chains before going into the mixer. Where it really shines is as a mixer of mixers, which is how I'm using it. I've got about 280hp worth of Eurorack modules with mixers at the end of them where I do all the EQ, panning, etc before going into the RX1602. For my smaller standalone synths, I'm using the little Bastl Bestie mixer to bring them together before sending them into the RX1602. So I'm doing a ton of sound treatment before it hits the RX1602 because without it, it just can't handle it, even with EQ and compression afterwards. You're going to want those things going into the mixer too. Other than that, it's a great unit for mixing down. I'm sending it out into the Behringer MDX2600 compressor for smoothing out the final signal before it hits my interface. That was only $20 more than the RX1602 mixer and it's the same size. These old school rack mount units get overlooked these days but they used to be all the rage and for good reason. They pack a lot of utility that you don't know you need until you do.
Hello Gents! Thanks for another great video! Though I love the EMU and I would never tell Behringer NOT to build something, I'm not sure it's the best direction. Arguments about virtual instruments aside, a cheap used laptop and any version of Kontakt can serve up as good a sample as you'd want. I would much rather see Behringer make good on its promise to make a copy of the CS-80 or better yet a new Oscar synth! They teased those a few years ago and I'm still waiting.
Question: If I'm over 71 now. How long have I waited for the Behringer VCS3, DS-80, PRO16 etc??? Correct answere! And because it's been that long so far, the likelihood is... Hell will freeze over first!!! Or, I'll go and meet my maker first!! Oh well, until then I guess I'll have to make do with my 5u MoonDot Modular, Grp A4 etc, No... not bragging, not wealthy either believe me, I'm just expressing that I was just as serious and excited as anyone else at Behringer's announcements all that time ago 😢
just got a s2400 ISLA instruments its a sp1200 super charged sd card time stretch muti mode and it syncs like butter etc. i will get a behringer Lm because of the sounds (Lm1 , Lm2, 9000) my new Drum machine chain SP 1200 Kicks off my MPC 3.12 Which kicks off the S2400
rx-1602 should be upgraded with stereo send. I have many 1U rackmount line mixers, they are the best thing, I have 6... but I miss a replacement for my 12 mono inputs with 2 sends in 1U that is essential for mixing drum machine outputs. The SM10 is my go to nowadays with 10 stereo ins and 2 stereo sends
MXR Pitch Transposer? Oh, HELL yes! That's the rack unit that gives you those broad chorusing sounds, the sort of thing we all know from the early 1980s and on. VERY effective on guitar! SP1200 clone? Maybe. But there's an even BETTER choice out there...Sequential's rare AF entry into the fray, the Studio 440! Just do a search, check the specs...not only have some hiphop greats used it (Money Mark, Dan the Automator, Prince Paul, etc), it's another one of Aphex Twin's secret weapons, as well as one of The Orb's sequencer/samplers. SP1200 is OK...but the Studio 440 is far harder to find, and a more capable unit. Plus, Uli's team already has experience with Sequential's design philosophies. And that, PLUS the LM1, would be utterly devastating on live work! Also, we have (expensive) versions already, but NOBODY is trying to clone the stoopid-rare Studio 440. I'll bet Dave Rossum would be happier as well. And...uh, Uli, where's our VCS3? Or simpler still, the BCR32? Anyway, Behringer throwback I'd like to see? The EDISON. This was an early 1U rack device that's a clone of the Bedini Aural Spatial Enhancer, better known as BASE. It's a "holophonics" device, uses some phasing trickery to expand the width and depth of the stereo field. It might sound like something you'd use on an entire mix, but the real fun happens when you put it on a stereo signal (pads!) and mix that BASEd (couldn't resist) stereo signal in with an un-BASEd mix. Orbital has used an original BASE on their stuff since the "green album", and we'd probably see more if the original wasn't several grand AND rare as hell. But we DO have the EDISON.
Please Behringer - I’m going to keep asking: make a keyboard and rackmount clone of the 8 bit Ensoniq Mirage! My favorite sampler. Please extend the length of sample memory. 😊
Thanks for the updates, guys! Back in the 1980's I owned an Emu Drumulator (until it got stolen). I really loved it and was just getting to know it when some low-life took it from me. It's the only drum machine I'd buy a clone of (perhaps in the "Mini" form factor?).
...Great info lads ...I didn't know about the SP1200 clone ...and for around $500 ...I want one !!! ...love the channel ...and keep up the good work !!!
If Behringer releases a SP1200 ohboy!!!!!!!!!!!
Let's propose that Behringer make a clone of the Access Virus Synth..... Would be brilliant.
I just received an email, the stylophone DS-2 Drone synth will be available for purchase tomorrow. An email link to buy now will be sent to those who signed up.
Thank you for the incoming news, mates! An SP-12 clone is once again exactly what Doc Benway ordered! "Let's fighting!"
You guys are awesome! Keep the news coming!

Dave Rossum's Rossum Electro-music still has the SP1200 in production. His invention
And it’s expensive like hell 😞
Haha tiers will😂 be shed
Not at that price sorry
You know what Patents are, and the rationale behind them, right? Any Patents on this are long since expired.
I got an RX1602. Good line mixer without taking up real estate. I got a second one on order.
Yup I'm a big 1602 Fan, I've been using them since 2010 or so, I'm up to 3 of them now, along with 2 x Yamaha MV802's on my 19" rack
Steps = MI Stages. But likely built worse.
Hello fellas . I've been asking for sp1200 for months .felt like Christmas when it came up on my feed .can't wait
I've had the RX1602 in my studio for the last year and it is brilliant. Super quiet, 1RU, never a problem, use it every day.
Thanks!
Keep us posted when you get your LM Drum. Look forward to your review.
Is that Eurorack - a digital mixer? I have X-Air XR18 but it takes space...
Still awaiting release of the Beremin theremin coming!?
I would love behringer did something in a format of Yamaha DX100 for modern talkboxers
Sp1200 I’m down for that and the drums
What's going on with the Enigma?

Behringer should buy the rights to make the Isla Instruments S2400. Or at least go into some sort of partnership with Isla Instruments.
Better (and cheaper) to make a ‘1200’ with expired patents.
