This is exactly my beautiful little sister. She is the sweetest person and it shows here on You-tube just like in real life! She is truly beautiful inside and out! My husband and I just built our dream home on a lake in the Adirondack Mountains in New York. We are from here and my children and grandchildren are close by so my retirement entails helping my daughters watch my grandchildren. My husband would love to go to Florida for the winters but I think I could only handle a month at the most away from my kids and grandkids. I love you Tina! So glad you got to come to New York in June for our 40th Anniversary party and see our house! ❤️❤️❤️❤️

love your advice for your 13 year old self and enjoy these videos. trying to think about something you may not know about me. Since you would like to visit Italy; when i was in high school, I dated a foreign exchange student from Italy. We were 15 and 17 and after dating for like six months and he had to return to Italy we were "madly in love" and were sure we were destined to be together. Well that didn't happen but we continued to write back and forth as friends by airmail, yes I am old, for probably 6-8 years even after we were both married to other people. Approximately four years ago my sister in MD (I live in Iowa) texted me and said she had gotten an email from a man in Italy that said he had dated me in high school and had been looking for me for over 30 years. Of course I thought it was a scam and sent him an email asking him to tell me something only he and I would know. He sent me back an explanation of how we met which was spot on and a picture of us as teens going to prom together. What a shock! Well long story short, we continue to exchange emails back and forth ever since and enjoy a nice long distance friendship between families. I always say it could be a Hallmark movie! Maybe they will read this and call me. LOL❤😊

He’s such a talented artist and nearly all his songs remind me of certain people or situations in my life at that time, 45 + years ago. If you get the chance look on TH-cam for David Grohl singing Copacabana, it is brilliant. I read an article that he actually cried at some of the lyrics in BM songs. Great video! ❤ Habe also been to the Chica Lodge, many years ago, what a lovely reminder! I don’t remember the food so much as the bathroom! We had a huge tube that you could sit in & open these shutter-like dividers that allowed you to look out onto the ocean, like taking a private bath on the beach. My husband had a work meeting there for 3 days & I got to tag along. Just incredible. Hmmm, I’ll answer the retirement one. Not new hobbies but I want to get back to my genealogy research, I writing a family book on our Riverboat Captain & want to finish that, organize my photos & papers, take a few classes. I want to read more (mysteries here❤) & cook again. We also have a gre home renovation projects we want to tackle. We also lived in NC & have thought about going back but like you, our child is here in IN & I don’t want to be to far away. Right now, it doesn’t pay to sell what we have & move but I’d love to downsize to half of what we have so we can take care of less. We’re looking at retiring in Dec 2025 & will celebrate with a trip to Germany & the Christmas markets. Also having pet sitter issues. Right now our son does it for us. We have 2, about 6-8 years (rescues so exact age unknown) but one does not kennel well & has a tough time when I go away.

Fabulous video. I enjoyed getting to know you a bit better. Regarding Stitch Fix. I find I do better with the Freestyle option. I find that when they curate a box, it is sometimes not my style even though I’ve been clear about what I like in my Notes. I love to read. My favorite genre of books is Mystery. I also like History, Biographies and true Crime as well. While we didn’t elope, we met on a blind date. The wedding was so stressful that I sometimes wish we did elope. Going to celebrate our 33rd anniversary this year.My favorite meal is anytime my husband smokes something in the smoker. Smoked meatloaf is my favorite.

Hi Tina! This was such a fun post, hopefully you will do some more of these down the line. It is always nice getting to know someone a little better. I retired earlier than planned but my husband is still working, so no real travel plans yet. My favorite place hands down is Bermuda. I have been multiple times & would just stay there if I could, maybe no one would notice me lol. Someday I would love to see Scotland, Ireland, England, Italy & Alaska. With the career I had + being a definite workaholic, it was a very difficult transition into retirement for me. It has been a few years now & in recent months I finally found an interesting hobby…genealogy/family archivist for future generations. I have always been the keeper of old family photos, mementos, etc for both sides of my family, so it was a natural fit. I have always been way more into music than tv or reading but when I do read it is either biography/mystery/thriller & an occasional romance. Right now I am about to start The Cliffs. My music library has everything under the sun except true country. Hope you are having a fabulous week my sweet friend ❤️

You have totally touched my heart. You are a dear friend. I'm so glad that your sons pushed you to start a channel. I love your content. You are genuine, and so incredibly kind. I'm so with you. I couldn't imagine not living in the same state as my girls, and of course, my Henry. We have no travel plans for the same reason. Luna needs meds, and she's just getting into mastering the litter box. We have a schedule for her, and there's no one who could come and stay if we were to go away. She's nearly 10, was extremely abused, and never had a real home before we took her in last December. Being vegan, the hardest thing for me to give up was fish. Your anniversary dinner sounds incredible along with the ambiance. People who leave mean comments are unhappy with themselves. I love Copacabana! I love the elopement! My answer would be the same as yours telling your 13 year old self how not to care what other girls thought of them, and that many of the things we worried about back then never came to fruition. I will be retiring in the next year, or two, and believe it or not, there are so many options that I sometimes feel overwhelmed and get stressed about it. My sister did get so stressed about retiring-she actually got sick for a couple of months. She is doing great now, though, and traveling all over the place. My own overall plan is to live life simply with a small place that allows me to have a dog and cat with a wooded area that's safe to walk my dog, and an area to grow a few flowers and some herbs for cooking. I would like to do some volunteer work with those less fortunate that need help getting to the doctor or basic stuff like showering and getting to the store...and I'd like to do more reading. I could do anything though- live in Arizona for a year or go to Alaska if I want, but I do have a man that I've known for years and recently discovered that we are both pretty committed to wanting a relationship to develop between us, so for me, I honestly don't know where my feet will land in the near future.

We are in the process of retiring; we sold out house and are renting an apartment. We bought a condo in a nearby state we are using as a vacation home for now. Our oldest has moved out (got an apartment near our condo, yay!) and our youngest has been given a deadline as to decide what he wants to do. My husband is starting to look for his next semi-retirement consulting position, updating his resume, etc, and waiting for the day he can put in his retirement notice from his job. He's done one thing for almost 35 years, only working at two companies. He's earned his time to do something different. I on the other hand, work remotely so I will continue to work from our new place until we are old enough for Medicare. Haha.

Good morning Tina. Looks like your taste in books is pretty similar to mine so I am choosing that question to answer. I also like mysteries and espionage. Also books with interesting women characters and their relationships usually with a little romance thrown in. Appreciate your desire to stay home with Louie. My husband and I only travel together once each year, in the fall to Estes Park and have found a cabin that allows us to bring Hugh. Other than that my travel is with my sister and Mike stays home with our sweet dog.. Enjoyed the video. 😊

I did my final test dive in Key Largo in Pennekamp Park which is close to Cheeca Lodge. I don’t dive anymore, but I gained much mental power from the experience: You must live in the present and enjoy and adjust accordingly. I realized that I was an alien in a supernaturally beautiful world who enjoyed coming back to her natural, “alien” world! 🌎 Keep the videos coming! ❤🎉😀

I went to Elvis Week every August for over 20 years and still go to multiple Elvis festivals every year. I've made many lifetime friends through Elvis and we have so much fun. Molly, we actually got married at the Treasure Island Wedding Chapel. My husband surprised me with a trip to Vegas two years ago for my birthday and it had been over 24 years since I had been there. I was so disappointed to see the state of Treasure Island😢 it has gone downhill and was nothing like when we got married there.

I don't know how I missed asking you a question but it was great to hear your answers. My favorite answer was the fact that you and your husband eloped! How cool! Do you feel like you missed out on having a typical wedding? As a huge reader (it's my "escape" from daily life!) I do read seasonally, so the question about your favorite summer read spoke to me. This summer I've gotten into reading Elin Hilderbrand's books and have read 7 of them already (I'm a fast reader). She writes about Nantucket and Martha's Vineyard, and having been there, it's fun to read about some of the areas I've visited. Her books are light and easy reads, which I prefer in the summer. Definitely 'beach reads' even when I'm not at the beach. Thanks for sharing a bit more about your life Tina!
Hi Sallie! No worries on some questions. Eloping is something I have never regretted. It was so exciting, I would do it again. Although you might laugh. I joke with my boys that they better not do that! I want to be there when and if they decide to get married! lol! I am writing down Elon Hilderbrand to check out her books, because they sound right up my alley. I also like reading novels that are set in places I have visited. It has been a long time since I have been to Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket, but at some point I hope to go back! I wish I was as a fast a reader as you so I could add other books along with the book club books. I think my problem is, that I tend to read novels only at night and I get sleepy so quickly, it takes me a while to finish! Hope you are having a great weekend my sweet friend! Hi Tina, I loved this video so much ! I didn’t realize you lived in IL, in the Chicago area. I’m from Rockford,IL, and relocated to Henderson, NV in 2010. (Henderson is connected to Las Vegas). I love Barry M too. 💞 When I was 13, I was always wishing I could be an adult. I would even go to the extent of figuring out an income and budget that I’d need to be on my own. Crazy right ? I would tell my 13 year old self, that being an adult isn’t always as much fun as being a kid, and not to dwell on it, wishing your childhood years away. My husband and I also got married in Las Vegas in 2007. Who knew that 3 years after, we’d be living here. Life is so unpredictable. ☺️💜☺️

@@tinasbestmidlife We got married at the Little Church of the West. My husband’s folks were married there. It’s been around since 1942, and has interesting history. It’s located on the south end of the strip across from Mandalay Bay. My sister-in-law was married at TI, but that was before I met my husband. When we moved here in 2010 the rooms there were all refurbished, and looks like they need it again. 😞Don’t miss the winters at all, but the summers here are unbearably 🥵 hot ! Stuck inside a lot, like winters in IL, but for 9 months out of the year it’s really nice ! I have a friend who lives in Carol Stream, and my Sister works also works in Chicago. I miss going into the city, and especially around Christmas. Our trips to shop on Michigan Ave. 🥰

We live in Chicago suburbs and we are close to retirement. We have two daughter who are married and live in other suburbs, two grandchildren and another due any day now, and I would never leave my grandchildren

Fun video. I don't read any particular type of book in summer. I read detective novels, true crime and thrillers mostly. Retirement: no clue. Don't know where my son will be. Right now he is having a lot of trouble finding a job after years of education. Since getting my dog I have only gone to pet friendly hotels within driving distance. He is too big to fit in a container to travel by plane or train. I don't know if he would do well with boarding. He has bad reactions to a few dogs. Food: I am a picky eater. I tend to like Asian food. I don't like dairy and do not like all meats. I love fruit.

@tinasbestmidlife Holly has been to hotels twice. I didn't ever leave him in the room alone. I know at least one of the hotels had a policy of how long the dog could be left in the room. He doesn't like being left at home alone either. Not sure what he does as no video cam in the house but always waiting at the door when I come back even if just to take garbage out. Couple of times neighbors complained about whining and howling. I think he might howl if left in a hotel room. We ate at places with patio seating that allowed dogs. Also took him on a visit to Edith Wharton house in Lenox MA that allows dogs on the grounds... not in the house...and Normsn Rockwell museum that allows dogs on the ground. He enjoyed sniffing around those places. Pet store that allowed dogs and Tractor Supply that allows dogs. If Louie does ok with being alone for a few hours I think most hotels allow that. Holly loves car rides.

Since you would like to visit Italy; when i was in high school, I dated a foreign exchange student from Italy. We were 15 and 17 and after dating for like six months and he had to return to Italy we were "madly in love" and were sure we were destined to be together. Well that didn't happen but we continued to write back and forth as friends by airmail, yes I am old, for probably 6-8 years even after we were both married to other people. Approximately four years ago my sister in MD (I live in Iowa) texted me and said she had gotten an email from a man in Italy that said he had dated me in high school and had been looking for me for over 30 years. Of course I thought it was a scam and sent him an email asking him to tell me something only he and I would know. He sent me back an explanation of how we met which was spot on and a picture of us as teens going to prom together. What a shock! Well long story short, we continue to exchange emails back and forth ever since and enjoy a nice long distance friendship between families. I always say it could be a Hallmark movie! Maybe they will read this and call me. LOL❤😊

He’s such a talented artist and nearly all his songs remind me of certain people or situations in my life at that time, 45 + years ago. If you get the chance look on TH-cam for David Grohl singing Copacabana, it is brilliant. I read an article that he actually cried at some of the lyrics in BM songs. Great video! ❤ Habe also been to the Chica Lodge, many years ago, what a lovely reminder! I don’t remember the food so much as the bathroom! We had a huge tube that you could sit in & open these shutter-like dividers that allowed you to look out onto the ocean, like taking a private bath on the beach. My husband had a work meeting there for 3 days & I got to tag along. Just incredible. Hmmm, I’ll answer the retirement one. Not new hobbies but I want to get back to my genealogy research, I writing a family book on our Riverboat Captain & want to finish that, organize my photos & papers, take a few classes. I want to read more (mysteries here❤) & cook again. We also have a gre home renovation projects we want to tackle. We also lived in NC & have thought about going back but like you, our child is here in IN & I don’t want to be to far away. Right now, it doesn’t pay to sell what we have & move but I’d love to downsize to half of what we have so we can take care of less. We’re looking at retiring in Dec 2025 & will celebrate with a trip to Germany & the Christmas markets. Also having pet sitter issues. Right now our son does it for us. We have 2, about 6-8 years (rescues so exact age unknown) but one does not kennel well & has a tough time when I go away.
Isn't that Cheeca Lodge just amazing! And yes to those bathtubs!!! We really hope to get back there someday.

Fabulous video. I enjoyed getting to know you a bit better. Regarding Stitch Fix. I find I do better with the Freestyle option. I find that when they curate a box, it is sometimes not my style even though I’ve been clear about what I like in my Notes. I love to read. My favorite genre of books is Mystery. I also like History, Biographies and true Crime as well. While we didn’t elope, we met on a blind date. The wedding was so stressful that I sometimes wish we did elope. Going to celebrate our 33rd anniversary this year.My favorite meal is anytime my husband smokes something in the smoker. Smoked meatloaf is my favorite.

Hi Tina! This was such a fun post, hopefully you will do some more of these down the line. It is always nice getting to know someone a little better. I retired earlier than planned but my husband is still working, so no real travel plans yet. My favorite place hands down is Bermuda. I have been multiple times & would just stay there if I could, maybe no one would notice me lol. Someday I would love to see Scotland, Ireland, England, Italy & Alaska. With the career I had + being a definite workaholic, it was a very difficult transition into retirement for me. It has been a few years now & in recent months I finally found an interesting hobby…genealogy/family archivist for future generations. I have always been the keeper of old family photos, mementos, etc for both sides of my family, so it was a natural fit. I have always been way more into music than tv or reading but when I do read it is either biography/mystery/thriller & an occasional romance. Right now I am about to start The Cliffs. I'm so with you. I couldn't imagine not living in the same state as my girls, and of course, my Henry.
We have no travel plans for the same reason. Luna needs meds, and she's just getting into mastering the litter box. We have a schedule for her, and there's no one who could come and stay if we were to go away. She's nearly 10, was extremely abused, and never had a real home before we took her in last December.
Being vegan, the hardest thing for me to give up was fish. Your anniversary dinner sounds incredible along with the ambiance.

I will be retiring in the next year, or two, and believe it or not, there are so many options that I sometimes feel overwhelmed and get stressed about it. My sister did get so stressed about retiring-she actually got sick for a couple of months. She is doing great now, though, and traveling all over the place. My own overall plan is to live life simply with a small place that allows me to have a dog and cat with a wooded area that's safe to walk my dog, and an area to grow a few flowers and some herbs for cooking. I would like to do some volunteer work with those less fortunate that need help getting to the doctor or basic stuff like showering and getting to the store...and I'd like to do more reading. I could do anything though- live in Arizona for a year or go to Alaska if I want, but I do have a man that I've known for years and recently discovered that we are both pretty committed to wanting a relationship to develop between us, so for me, I honestly don't know where my feet will land in the near future.

We are in the process of retiring; we sold out house and are renting an apartment. We bought a condo in a nearby state we are using as a vacation home for now. Our oldest has moved out (got an apartment near our condo, yay!) and our youngest has been given a deadline as to decide what he wants to do. My husband is starting to look for his next semi-retirement consulting position, updating his resume, etc, and waiting for the day he can put in his retirement notice from his job. He's done one thing for almost 35 years, only working at two companies. He's earned his time to do something different. I on the other hand, work remotely so I will continue to work from our new place until we are old enough for Medicare. Haha.

Good morning Tina. Looks like your taste in books is pretty similar to mine so I am choosing that question to answer. I also like mysteries and espionage. Also books with interesting women characters and their relationships usually with a little romance thrown in. Appreciate your desire to stay home with Louie. My husband and I only travel together once each year, in the fall to Estes Park and have found a cabin that allows us to bring Hugh. Other than that my travel is with my sister and Mike stays home with our sweet dog.. Enjoyed the video. 😊

I did my final test dive in Key Largo in Pennekamp Park which is close to Cheeca Lodge. I don’t dive anymore, but I gained much mental power from the experience: You must live in the present and enjoy and adjust accordingly. I realized that I was an alien in a supernaturally beautiful world who enjoyed coming back to her natural, “alien” world! 🌎 Keep the videos coming! ❤🎉😀

Molly, we actually got married at the Treasure Island Wedding Chapel. My husband surprised me with a trip to Vegas two years ago for my birthday and it had been over 24 years since I had been there. I was so disappointed to see the state of Treasure Island😢 it has gone downhill and was nothing like when we got married there.

As a huge reader (it's my "escape" from daily life!) I do read seasonally, so the question about your favorite summer read spoke to me. This summer I've gotten into reading Elin Hilderbrand's books and have read 7 of them already (I'm a fast reader). She writes about Nantucket and Martha's Vineyard, and having been there, it's fun to read about some of the areas I've visited. Her books are light and easy reads, which I prefer in the summer. Definitely 'beach reads' even when I'm not at the beach.

I am writing down Elon Hilderbrand to check out her books, because they sound right up my alley. I also like reading novels that are set in places I have visited. It has been a long time since I have been to Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket, but at some point I hope to go back! I wish I was as a fast a reader as you so I could add other books along with the book club books. I think my problem is, that I tend to read novels only at night and I get sleepy so quickly, it takes me a while to finish!

Hi Tina, I loved this video so much ! I didn’t realize you lived in IL, in the Chicago area. I’m from Rockford,IL, and relocated to Henderson, NV in 2010. (Henderson is connected to Las Vegas). I love Barry M too. 💞 When I was 13, I was always wishing I could be an adult. I would even go to the extent of figuring out an income and budget that I’d need to be on my own. Crazy right ? I would tell my 13 year old self, that being an adult isn’t always as much fun as being a kid, and not to dwell on it, wishing your childhood years away. My husband and I also got married in Las Vegas in 2007. Who knew that 3 years after, we’d be living here. Life is so unpredictable. ☺️💜☺️

@@tinasbestmidlife We got married at the Little Church of the West. My husband’s folks were married there. It’s been around since 1942, and has interesting history. It’s located on the south end of the strip across from Mandalay Bay. My sister-in-law was married at TI, but that was before I met my husband. When we moved here in 2010 the rooms there were all refurbished, and looks like they need it again. 😞Don’t miss the winters at all, but the summers here are unbearably 🥵 hot ! Stuck inside a lot, like winters in IL, but for 9 months out of the year it’s really nice ! I have a friend who lives in Carol Stream, and my Sister works also works in Chicago. I miss going into the city, and especially around Christmas. Our trips to shop on Michigan Ave. 🥰

Fun video. I don't read any particular type of book in summer. I read detective novels, true crime and thrillers mostly. Retirement: no clue. Don't know where my son will be. Right now he is having a lot of trouble finding a job after years of education. Since getting my dog I have only gone to pet friendly hotels within driving distance. He is too big to fit in a container to travel by plane or train. I don't know if he would do well with boarding. He has bad reactions to a few dogs. Food: I am a picky eater. I tend to like Asian food. I don't like dairy and do not like all meats. I love fruit.

@tinasbestmidlife Holly has been to hotels twice. I didn't ever leave him in the room alone. I know at least one of the hotels had a policy of how long the dog could be left in the room. He doesn't like being left at home alone either. Not sure what he does as no video cam in the house but always waiting at the door when I come back even if just to take garbage out. Couple of times neighbors complained about whining and howling. I think he might howl if left in a hotel room. We ate at places with patio seating that allowed dogs. Also took him on a visit to Edith Wharton house in Lenox MA that allows dogs on the grounds... not in the house...and Normsn Rockwell museum that allows dogs on the ground. He enjoyed sniffing around those places. Pet store that allowed dogs and Tractor Supply that allows dogs. If Louie does ok with being alone for a few hours I think most hotels allow that. Holly loves car rides.
