My 2jz engine has been running roughly at idle since a while with the same symptoms and I did everything from replacement to cleaning and paid a lot of money but never got the real issue. Now about 1 hour ago, I did ECU scanner and issue appear with this sensor and yes I'm here now knowing my issue. Thank you for the video and don't waste your time and money fixing everything, just do ECU scanner first, it's about 10$ in my country and sorry for my bad English 😂
@@aidenthe420 No and my mechanic couldn’t either, and he’s a certified mechanic - supervisor at a local mechanic shop . But I think it was the vvt solenoids. I watched a few videos that had the same symptoms and the cure was vvt solenoids.
if a vvt is bad can it cause a no start? i have a code and my car trys to turn over but nothing. I took it out to test and it dident click or clicked super fast, wondering if wiring on the inside of it is busted. its from a 2007 mazda 6.
Generally, VVT issues wouldn't directly prevent a vehicle from starting. typically, starting problems are more likely related to other engine components like the battery, starter motor, fuel system, or ignition system.
If I change both intake & exhaust camshaft sensor but still get a check engine light, does it’s mean I need to change my vvt solenoid? And how many do I get ?
A check engine light is triggered by various sensors associated with the car I'd first recommend you visit a qualified mechanic and diagonise the fault code that triggered the check engine light before taking any action
I have corolla VVTI model 2017 mileage 84k kms. I have not track down the issue because engine seems to hesitate on acceleration for almost 10mins after cold start up in the morning and then runs fine the whole day
Hi ! I have checked everything. I have a good idling, but I have jerks when applying the accelerator pedal on the road. My last solution is this solenoid valve. I only have one on the intake manifold. I have on engine warning light. Do you think these jerks could come from this valve ? Thanks for your kind answer ! Regards.
@@arturojaimes8021 (308 1.6 156 THP) Hi, Thanks for your clues. I have bought this car second hand one month ago because in France to get rid of the pollution, you need a #1 sticker on your windshield. This car it. However I have discovered that it has a shitting engine. I knew it had jerks when I drove it. I thought it was nothing . I have changed all the sparks, all the electrical rods. I have the timing chain redone, changed the chain tenser, changed the oil in the high pressure pump. I have changed the solenoid. The mecanic told me it might be a valve issue. So I want now to test the cylinder compression, but I doubt it is a valve issue as it has passed the mot. Results are 0.18 for idle, the same for the accelerated idle, and 1.005 for the lambda value. Could someone tell me if these values match a valve issue ? Engine starts normally. Idle is normal. It's just that when I press the accelerator pedal I have air gaps = jerks. So now I am going to try clean the injectors via the rear pump. Someone told me they could be dirty... I know some mini and bmw have the same engine and the same problem... All the best to all ! 😉
@@markvermeulen1372 I have not touched my ECM. I have bought a new high pressure pump. I am expecting it, hoping the problem comes from the pump. If not, I will return the bought pump for refund. I will tell you if it works. I have bought a second hand pump from Aliexpress, it's worst, so perhaps jerks comes my worn out pump. I will tell you in a few days 👈
Good breakdown and explanation. Thank you for the video.

اهلا اخي هل من طريقة للتواصل معك ؟؟

From now on, I will be replacing my VVT solenoid every time I get a check engine and rough idling lol.
Dirty engine Oil also causes the Dvvt solenoid to malfunction.Changing the oil on time is important.
Do aftermarket VVT solenoids work the same as OEM? And is there a difference in performance from a Chinese brand vs American brand?
Not much maybe how long it’ll hold up
Very good explanation well done
My Nissan rogue, runs good until it warms up then it vibrates… no check engine light …scanner says vvt bank 1 fail .. could that be the same problem?
Did you ever figure it out?

Will make the engine nocking? I'm having some nocking noise on my Tundra I believe the timing chain
I don’t think knockin is the best way to describe that

How do i can check if the connector is working properly?
I connected it to electricity
No longer working from the inside what to do
Which years of Toyota engines use this selenoid?
Thanks brother Jesus Christ is lord great video

Does it affect the transmission?
Not really

I have jerking when accelerating. Replacing the spark plugs solved it.
