FF XIII was where my Final Fantasy adventure began, and I have to say, they gave such a fitting ending to the series with Lightning Returns and we were accompanied with this amazing soundtrack through all 3 games. People by bash XIII for being linear and disliking it's gameplay style, but it'll always be one of my favourite Final Fantasy games I've ever played!
Its was also my first journey into a Final Fantasy game. My uncles would always play it and i i was hooked from the beginning! XIII was wonderfully made and the story is intriguing. I instantly fell in love with everything and it gave me feels. And it also influences my art style as well! Its indeed a Golden game that is unfairly under rated for change sadly.
The game definitely had its flaws with gameplay, in the fact it was VERY linear until the end of the story, in which pretty much you were only 50% done with the game and had this huge open world now to explore with 0 direction aside from the achievements. That being said it was still wonderfully done with both the story and artwork. There is no reason to bash the game completely over something that doesn't really take away from the overall story and experience of the game. VII, IX, and X are my top 3. XIII Definitely sits at a solid 4 only because my childhood is also connected to those 3 games lol.
7, 10, and 13 all have the best music in a game ever. And it’s a split tie. These games shaped my child hood greatly and the nostalgia is overwhelming when I hear this music
this will never stop to be one of the most well done masterpiece in the franchise... the music, the ambient, the spells, the story, the emotions the emotions the feelings.... the lecture of the will to defy ones own fate... you're bad in something but you have to deal with it if you want something? well thats too bad THEN DEFY YOUR OWN DESTINY, this was so badass when i entered to biochemistry in the school, even tho i almost never passed chemistry in the low school, i still decided to fight back and get into biochemistry, as a challenge and defy my own fate, because i love biology, but is not enough science without chemistry.... and i decided the hard way, took me a while and a lot of lifespawn, but i did it.
13 years....13 years of FF 13 has been a journey of a lifetime. The soundtracks are Masterpieces and whenever i feel the need of being HYPED for a big boss fight on FFXIV, i normal come back to this video. Thank you so much for this and it never grows old.

Ff13 was my starter ff and when I got it I wasn't sure on playing it I'm glad I did. Loved the whole series and story's including ff13 lighting returns' finish to it all. Personally my favorite ff game.music is also amazing and has a special place in my heart. Overall way ahead of its time.

Caius Ballad Well... Lightning Best Girl and Caius Best Antagonist. I even prefer him over Sephiroth, but that's only due to their personalities. Otherwise, both are awesome.
Lightning.... They may have gone a little heavy on the angst, but aside from that, she was one of the few good things to come out of a mediocre (by Final Fantasy Standards) series, along with the perfection that was Caius.

I am unfortunately not so familiar with the Final Fantasy series so I wouldn't be capable of comparing Zidane and Lightning. However, I can say for sure that Lightning in Lightning Returns was the best of the three. She had her moments of doubts in FFXIII, then you see her less in FFXIII-2, but which sort of prepares her for her motivation to fight once again in LR: FFXIII. Her character development goes from a strict and almost cold sister to an eternal warrior who fights for a deity in a realm where time doesn't exist only to become a half goddess who saves souls before becoming a full fledged goddess herself and finally meet her "end". Yep. She has a great character development.
How has it taken me 8 years to hear this mix. This is incredible. I have a bit of a love and hate relationship with the XIII trilogy as a whole, but they absolutely smashed it with the soundtracks to all three. They have some of my all time favourite FF tracks, and you've provided a great compilation here. Thanks.
Would like a Serah's Theme/The Promise/ Fabula Nova Chrystallis Mix... I think it is one of the most poignant themes of the final fantasy series and it appears in so many arrangments throughtout the FFXIII OST
Severely underrated series. Fantastic Music, Fantastic Story, granted the combat could have used a bit more polish and I wish they had actually delivered on the reactive-combat in 13-2 that they had for like, all of two bosses.
This makes me wonder if SE intended for the songs between the 3 games to flow so seamlessly together I mean. Forever fugitives into To Hunt L'Cie is beautiful. Prologue into The Warpath Home as well. What am I forgetting? Oh, right, 5:42. That. i mean, it gives me goosebumps how well the link is. Great job, man!

While not the best FF game out there, imo, the experience of this game is truly one of my most cherished moments in gaming and was one of the last times I ever really felt magic from gaming. And you just caused me to relive all of that. Hard to believe this is almost 10 years old. Thanks for the nostalgia trip. The transition and mixing of this is so spot on. You should be working in audio production.
Amazing, I'm only on the second piece but I already know im in for a real treat. I finished the final part (lightning returns) early this year and the final scene was perfect for me. And the end of two was heartbreaking and unfair. So I played FFXIII 2 until I had 100 percent completion so I could access the true secret ending and guess what! It still was not right. Very good ending but still not right. And when I finished FFXIII I was straight up annoyed. But thats a whole different story. Anyway, the music rules. One of the best. Serahs theme - memory? (I think) is my favourite but they are all wonderful. Even the chocobo song. Yeah, I said it.

Lightning easily DESTROYS most FF protagonists as the most in-depth, compelling, badass character to ever grace the FF name. With the exception of MAYBE Clive(from FF16). Any other protag could barely hold a candle to those two when you compare the sheer depth of their respective stories/arcs.

don`t hear to the others. FFX was LInear too but everyone loves X. My most beloved Final FAntasy will always be XIII.
