Every now and then, I come and listen to soundtrack compilations like this to find all the people who love the XIII games as much as I do. It makes a beautiful change from seeing all the constant hate that these games are levelled with.
It's not that they're bad. They're just not amazing. If LR had been first and not third in the series people probably would've loved it. It's kinda the best one tbh.
The issue with the 13 trilogy is that the original 14 changed too much and was too Japanese for Western standards. The tropes and narrative devices it used were too foreign for us back then. After games like Yakuza and Persona made Japanese culture more mainstream, suddenly 13 was more palatable. But even then, the gameplay was too linear and hand-holdy to fully enjoy. It felt preachy and condescending. 13-2 and Lightning Returns were brilliant games with no flaws but the barrier to entry, through 13, was too high for many.
I gotta say, I loved FF13. Coming from a history with FF2, 3, 6, and 7 from my childhood then moving to 9, 10p1&2 and now 13p1-3, I feel like 13 is to me, what 10 was to a lot of people. 13 in my opinion, is the best set of FF games after 7. I absolutely loved the music, the atmosphere, the refreshing changes in combat particularly in part 2. All in all I just felt warm and at home playing these games. I struggle to compare my experiences I've had with FF-13 to any other emotional rollercoaster games, such as The Last of Us, or the Mass Effect trilogy. I guess all I can say is that listening to this music right now, causes a forgotten feeling of happiness to well up inside. And I can doze off to sleep with this nostalgic fondness for bittersweet good-byes, and rest with an incredibly sincere inner peace. I'm a sap for music, and I'll always feel this way when I listen to this particular soundtrack. No other game has done that for me, and I really thankful I have something like that in my life now.
I feel like FF15 will be focused more on showing the scale of the universe, with a lot of massive vistas and creatures. I think they will be constantly trying to make the player feel like a small speck in a massive world. I also have a feeling they are going to go for an epic an satisfying story with a focus for overcoming incredible feats. Whereas FF13 was heavily focused on relationships, family, and love. I can't say for sure, but that's why I think FF15 will be taking a lot of aspects from Lightning Returns. Expanding on the whole one person versus the world but on a much grander scale, through the world's size and the story.
Yes, but broventure. FFXIII had an amazing plot, anyway, and it looks like the themes of love, family and such will not be absent from FFXV, seeing Noctis' father is an important character, as well as Luna.
I didn't really like 7 much (not just because it's old - I did play it when I was like 15, but I loved Fallout 1 &2 and they're even uglier and more archaic) but I agree with you on 13. 9 & 10 are still my favorites but 13/2/LR are great games. Music is A+++++++ too, fav soundtrack overall I think.
My man, I've finished Fallout 1&2 just a couple years ago. I don't know why but that is a game that can look like a pile of shit and still be a masterpiece.
This game is my 3rd favorite FF title of all time. It is so unique and it tried out so many new ideas. I love everything about this game. I spent hours breeding the ultimate monsters and even more on chocobo racing. I enjoyed hunting the side-bosses hidden in each area. I adored every single track in this game and spent hours listening to each area's fantastic theme, especially Oerba and Academia-Old Town. I liked fighting in the Colliseum and testing my skill against tougher enemies. For once, leveling was fun and required strategy. I finally had the choice to optimise my characters however I wanted, stat wise, and the monsters were fully costumisable in terms of skill too. I ended up having a ravager, a medic and a commando which literary knew every single skill available in the game through breeding and Serah and Noel had about 7000-9000 HP I love everything about this story. It's easily the best story in the series if one is able to follow it (which is simple. I can't see people's problem with it.) And of course, I love the main cast. Serah and Noel feel like brother and sister and I haven't seen a duo like this, with a sibling dynamic so prominent, in Final Fantasy after FF 4. And I even liked Mog who's easily the best and most useful moogle in the series after FF6's Mog... There's nothing to not like in this game. Everything is flawlessly perfect. This game is a masterpiece in every sense of the word. I hated the world of Pulse and Cocoon in FF 13 but somehow, FF 13-2 made me love them more than any other world in the series. Even more than the world of balance (FF6) and Midgar (FF7). That's not something easily done. Thanks for this list.
+♞ Go Fuck Yourself ♞ I agree with you in every single point you mentioned. It's truly a masterpiece and for me it's my alltime favourite JRPG and my first Final Fantasy I played. I also played FF13, 13-3, 10/10-2 HD remaster, FF7, FF7 Crisis Core, FF Type-0 HD, FF Crystal Chronicles the Crystal Bearers and I'm ready for more ^^
Zeras light You should buy the HD remaster for X and X-2. If you liked 13-2, you will DEFINITELY like them. Also, you should eventually play FF 6. It's my favorite in the series and I highly recommend it. Ask me if you want help with the emulation. :P
The picture of Yuel and a kneeling Caius was such a perfect image for Yuel's theme. When I started playing XIII-2, I was hesitant to get sucked into the story because the opening premise somewhat failed to impress me until I realized that just like with most other final fantasy titles, the initial premise and plot are only the introduction before the characters realize that their own goals and missions and dreams pail in comparison to the peril the rest of the world is facing. At its core, FFXIII-2 was this kind of tragically beautiful story where both Noel and Caius cared so much for Yuel but in their own opposing ways. When I look back on this story, it's the struggle between these three characters that steals the show from the rest of the FFXIII cast of characters
Honestly, Serah's parallels with Yuel drive the plot for me personally. Seeing Noel trying to protect Serah as he couldn't protect his timeline's Yuel was a great dynamic. Plus, the fact they had a sibling-like relationship, each helping one another searching for their own lovers through time and space. Noel, Serah and Mog probably had the strongest presence in FF for me.
Plat'd this game (42 hours), Plat'd Lightning Returns (32 hours), and after 72 hours got about 80% of the trophies for XIII. All in all about 150 hours put into the trilogy. I'm sure 15 will be better received and remembered more favorably but I didn't mind my time with the 13 trilogy.
its a very good game with great story ,game play , music , graphics I loved it . buuuut its still not the same as the old ff's in ff9 I spend a total of 350 hours .
what in the actual fuck.........took me 95 hours to beat 13 with most of the side content and like 110 hours to get the "secret ending" of 13-2 . I feel like a slowpoke now....
I know this is unlisted now but this video and a couple others from your channel helped me study my college material for my entire undergrad. I honestly cannot thank you enough for it.
This music was quite different from Nobuo's but I really enjoyed the soundtracks. They're beautiful. And the game itself is gorgeous and it was quite an experience =) Not my absolute favorite FF games, but they are more than worthy of the title Final Fantasy.
Absolutely. If one gets into that story that is. It's grand scheme across all parts is just deep and glorious. It's definitely worth a classic title in few years.
Heya, saw your LR:FFXIII playlist earlier and noticed the time stamps were supplied by a viewer so following that here is FFXIII-2 edition: 1. Wish ( 0:00 ) 2. Memories of the Future ( 7:09 ) 3. Hope's Theme ( 10:29 ) 4. Fading Miracle ( 12:57 ) 5. Lightning 's Theme ( 15:36 ) 6. Etro's Gate ( 19:18 ) 7. Yeul's Theme ( 21:26 ) 8. Tears of the Goddess ( 28:08 ) 9. Village and Void ( 30:15 ) 10. Noel's Theme ( 35:45 ) 11. Closing Credits ( 40:05 ) Keep the music comming! :)
Can’t beat this compilation. Been listening for years now. I started listening to this during lunch every day because 13-2 has such a relaxing soundtrack and your compilation was the best of them. Still coming back years later…
I absolutely love FFXIII. I used to play it when I was 7 while my brother was gone. He would help me play it and understand it. Thanks to my brother I'm a gamer and love this one most of all! ^-^ FF is the best game in the entire world
This is an excellent compilation! One of the playlists that I keep coming back to when I'm depressed. This helps a lot to deal with emotions. Game wasn't that good but soundtrack keeps pulling me back all the time.
awesome soundtrack, half the reason to play the games again is to experience the chef's kiss music we were lucky to experience the greatness of an Uematsu-Hamauzu collab OST with ffx
the soundtrack to the entire ff13 is a mixed ball for a lot of people but to be honest, in terms of great tunes and original hums, ff13-2 had great themes especially the main theme. i actually like this soundtrack a little bit better than the ff13 and a whole lot better than the ff13: lightning returns soundtrack. good job uploading~ i wish i utilized youtube as a way to study back in college years but no doubt this soundtrack would not have been produced yet. but nowadays, i can use this for slow days at work when i wanna just hear instrumentals while working. i did not know that Origa had vocals in this game...seriously?! i have heard of passing in death. she was a great vocal in the ghost in the shell tv animated series.
City of Academia and New Bodhum's (both Aggressive and Original) music were also relaxing. This playlist is quite good! My favorite theme will always be Hope's Theme ~Confidence~. Anyways, Thanks for sharing!
Thankyou for getting me to sleep so quickly on so many nights🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼, had insomnia all my life but this track always knocks me out and gives me awesome dreams :)
This game was a step up from 13, but still not my favorite story-wise. But it is my favorite soundtrack of any FF game ever. 7, gets second only because of nostalgia. I absolutely love the music from the entire FFXIII universe.
Thanks for this :) FF13-2 was the only FF I played after FFX, and this music is so good :) Makes me smile, for what's worth...Such a sad story though, kupo :(
Years & years after listening to this marvelous compilation for the first time, i still come here oftentimes to profit from the soothing atmosphere and reignite my memories of the game, which i loved despite the apparently widespread disappointment from a lot of fans of the franchise. Anyway, amazing OST, fabulous mix. I'm glad i bookmarked this video along with the FF 13 comp so i can keep watching them even tho they're unlisted now :p Thank you for this amazing channel Yoonchi!
I'm glad you like it ❤️ I'm really sad my new version of it was taken down but hope to get it back up again soon I'm sad that FFXIII series wasn't as popular in the west but I will always love it!
I played the second one. Read the summary of first one n second one as well. Then for third part I just watched the ending on TH-cam. Although I am many years late, I have to say that this game had an amazing story and set of characters. I loved and adored the characters, especially Noel, Serah, and lightning. Seeing how much pain they went through, I just wanted to keep playing to see them get their happy ending that they deserved. The only thing missing to give me a complete satisfied feel to the game is that at the end we did not get to see a little bit of what their lives are afterwards. Overall, very great FF game. Good job SE
I already miss this game. I wanna go back and wake up in New Bodhum again... For some reason when Sera first wakes up on that sunny afternoon in New Bodhum and that silky voice of Orgia starts, it really stuck with me.
It's seems strange that this game fills me with nostalgia. I remember the first day playing it I chilled in New Bodhum for a good hour because everything about it was so peaceful and calming.
love the music thanks!, and is there any special order that i should play the games, i've never played them and i would preferably like to go through 1 to 15 but its hard to get the console and game etc. so a top 3 or any order please, thanks!
+Stormaggedn The Peasant no one really plays them in order ^^; I would say my top three are: 10 8 9 I also really love FFXIII-2 (obviously XD) but you can't play that one until you play XIII first, of course! I played #1 on my psp and it was interesting to see how it was all first set up but overall meh I guess (no plot) I'm so happy though because 6-9 (I think?) are on Vita yayyy ok there is my long post to answer your question lol I hope you like them!
Just start with FFXIII-2. Watch FFXIII Movie version here on yt. Cause that's what I did then after you're done with FFXIII-2. Go buy FFXIII-3 Lightning Returns Kupo! \m/
i know this is old af but 7 is a great one to start on. 9 is a throwback to the classic ones and 10 is the start of the next gen. but my favorite are 7 8 13 and then 10 in that order. just helpful advice. The classics are classics tho so even if you just did 1-6 you wouldn't be dissapointed...just a diff experience.
*Spoilers* (maybe o.o) I just love this game and whole XIII serie, it's so.... I don't even know how to describe it, but always when I see the ending in XIII, I'm thinking that it's just dreamed end not the true ending and that they didn't succeded how they all believe (I know, it's one of the paralel endings, you don't have to explain it to me) and than when I see ending from XIII-2 when Noel and Sarrah land from the Valhala on the ship, I'm crying, cause everything they did in order to save world, they actually just destroy it and all their trying goes in vain cause they're tricked by fate and paradox effect, this ending was predicted when Noel goes on the mission with Serrah... really sad...
+Gwen Wood While Noel is cool, I gotta say, Snow deserves to be repaid for the sacrifices he's made for Serah. I mean the guy turned back into a l'Cie just so he could live for thousands of years and search for her. He only wants to be with his girl, even if he has to wait ten thousand more. And I mean for god's sake, he even turned into fal'Cie, but his love for Serah brought him back from a place that you can't come back from. And that was AFTER she had been dead for hundreds of years! >,~,
+Yoonchi Ya You should change a word in the notes, there's an error. When you say "Rest in piece" what you meant was "Rest in peace" i think, because it doesn't make sense, "piece" means a smaller part of something bigger, literally of course. Just a heads up.
hahahaha thanks I had to go back and edit something else and did it on my iphone so I guess that's what happens um....I appreciate the English lesson though! XD
I didn't mean it like an english lesson, sorry... :| I didn't think the error was just by mistake, i thought maybe it wasn't your first language or something... i have seen people make this mistake before. XD
*PLEASE* the closing credits aren't *relaxing* at all! It scared the sh!t outta me because it instantly reminded me of fighting *Caius Ballad* 😂 The anxiety I felt.... gosh the PTSD is real🤣 All in all very nice mix😅👍
FFXIII and XIII-2 sucked...but the music was good. I'm glad FFXV was good though because I had such low expectations after the travesty that was the XIII series.
David James wow, I think the storyline in 13-2 was more compelling than 15. I play ff for the story. I mean 10? Wow that story line, so complex... 15s storyline sucked unfortunately. Game play was fun and all and the bros are a really nice bunch to hang around with, but I play final fantasy for the story, which I feel 15 didn't deliver, specially with so many years in development. If they had given is more story from the gods, world of ruin, that would have been so nice... oh well, I think I just need to accept that final fantasy will never again be ff10 xD
Every now and then, I come and listen to soundtrack compilations like this to find all the people who love the XIII games as much as I do. It makes a beautiful change from seeing all the constant hate that these games are levelled with.
Haters are all just braindead idiots and objectively wrong.
Especially XIII-2 is so good
Exactly. It's a nice sight, seeing so many positive comments.
This trilogy is special and I've always loved it. I'm always glad to meet another fan
I feel about the same. FFXIII was incredible - start to finish. I hope FFXV makes you feel the same way; I'm almost certain it will for me.
Final Fantasy XIII-2 is so underrated. I had some good times playing it.
I ended up having a ravager, a medic and a commando which literary knew every single skill available in the game through breeding and Serah and Noel had about 7000-9000 HP
I love everything about this story. It's easily the best story in the series if one is able to follow it (which is simple. I can't see people's problem with it.)
And of course, I love the main cast.

Sorry but i could not help and just laughed at your nickname. I would if i could. :D
NochalNTTS Happens all the time. :P
It's my third favourite too. 9, 12, 13-2
This music remains timeless. It has so much warmth and feeling in it.
It speaks to me so deeply you have no idea especially Lightning’s theme here
The picture of Yuel and a kneeling Caius was such a perfect image for Yuel's theme.

+Bigrog1988 you damn right Kupo, Lightning was a great lead character, though I'm still team FFX, XIII was a great story line Kupo.
its a very good game with great story ,game play , music , graphics I loved it . buuuut its still not the same as the old ff's in ff9 I spend a total of 350 hours .
It doesn't take longer than 80 hours to complete ff9. All cards, all optional bosses beat etc.
MattrickBT This
what in the actual fuck.........took me 95 hours to beat 13 with most of the side content and like 110 hours to get the "secret ending" of 13-2 . I feel like a slowpoke now....
such a gorgeous soundtrack! By far my most favourite set of songs from any final fantasy!
Hey pez I can't believe I found a comment of yours 😂😂😂 Love your channel long time supporter and fan
The music is so majestic, thanks a lot for mixing them together, Kupo! ^.^
+Steven Woodland my pleasure kupo!
suddenly *heavy metal chocobo song* AND I WAS ALMOST ASLEEP!!!
KupppppppOOOOOOOOO POOOOO !!!
Roserade Parade you know, ever since I played XIII-2, I've been traveling the world hunting down moogles for sport. KUPO!!
I know this is unlisted now but this video and a couple others from your channel helped me study my college material for my entire undergrad. I honestly cannot thank you enough for it.
I love ff13, I love fang, I love the music… if only I could go back & relive those days..
Greatest final fantasy ever concieved. Greatest form of art ever imagined. This is the sound of pure creation.
It's crazy how good XIII-2 is. Especially compared to XIII.
Olga Vitalyevna Yakovleva. Her voice is Angel-Like. Rip
Thanks a lot for this! It's really helped with a lot (studying, stress, homework, and of course relaxing!) You rock!

Can’t beat this compilation. Been listening for years now. I started listening to this during lunch every day because 13-2 has such a relaxing soundtrack and your compilation was the best of them. Still coming back years later…
Thank you Yoonchi Ya, I love working while listening to your compilations :)
I love this
Most of the songs (excluding battle themes) were really chill in final fantasy xiii-2 xD thanks for the complition :)
yes! it made the game so relaxing to play ^^
Ahem... that boss thing in the forest (with Snow) though... xD
I take all my baths with your soundtrack, its so relaxxing, its Final fantasy
I absolutely love FFXIII. I used to play it when I was 7 while my brother was gone. He would help me play it and understand it. Thanks to my brother I'm a gamer and love this one most of all! ^-^ FF is the best game in the entire world
This is an excellent compilation! One of the playlists that I keep coming back to when I'm depressed. This helps a lot to deal with emotions. Game wasn't that good but soundtrack keeps pulling me back all the time.
Thanks, I hope you like the remake as well
oh, so many thanks! You've done such a great work with these relaxing FF music videos
awesome soundtrack, half the reason to play the games again is to experience the chef's kiss music

This is my favourite relaxing music perfect to zone out and think about suff. thank you +yoonchi ya keep it up!
the beginning just makes me cry
Thanks for this majestic compilation mate hope you allow us to save the video offline too.
City of Academia and New Bodhum's (both Aggressive and Original) music were also relaxing.
This playlist is quite good! My favorite theme will always be Hope's Theme ~Confidence~.
Anyways, Thanks for sharing!
FF XIII-2 has the BEST soundtrack of all Final Fantasy games.
James TwentySeven nothing will ever beat 10, but I'm biased since that's my favourite game of all times
I absolutely love the music from the entire FFXIII universe.
mannn i play this game like im still 15 now im age 22, listening to this song make me really love to come back again sometimes.
i played 7 year ago ? this game is 13 year old , u should have played at 9 ,, 22 - 13 year = 9 old LOL your late !
何時も聞かせてもらってます。睡眠時のリラックスタイムとしてとても重宝してます。これからもFFシリーズのBGM期待してます!!
i put ff13 soundtrack in the top 5 of all FF soundtracks.
My favourite Final Fantasy and one of the best games I have ever played :)
i think ff13 had the best soundtrack out of all final fantasy games
Thanks for this :)
FF13-2 was the only FF I played after FFX, and this music is so good :)
Makes me smile, for what's worth...Such a sad story though, kupo :(
ffx and ffxiii-2 are my favorites! ^_^
the ending was such a depressing twist, kupo T.T
Years & years after listening to this marvelous compilation for the first time, i still come here oftentimes to profit from the soothing atmosphere and reignite my memories of the game, which i loved despite the apparently widespread disappointment from a lot of fans of the franchise.
Anyway, amazing OST, fabulous mix. I'm glad i bookmarked this video along with the FF 13 comp so i can keep watching them even tho they're unlisted now :p
Thank you for this amazing channel Yoonchi!
I'm glad you like it ❤️ I'm really sad my new version of it was taken down but hope to get it back up again soon
I'm sad that FFXIII series wasn't as popular in the west but I will always love it!
Thanks for uploading this ^^ it helps me focus while I work!
Good job SE
I love the Main Theme... Makes me feel Nostalgic and good as well... ~A Wish~
I already miss this game. I wanna go back and wake up in New Bodhum again... For some reason when Sera first wakes up on that sunny afternoon in New Bodhum and that silky voice of Orgia starts, it really stuck with me.
Perfect music to work on the computer with.
Some of the best music in the world came from and for the creation of a video game. wow.
Got Platinum trophy yesterday :)
using this while I read study an draw
It's seems strange that this game fills me with nostalgia. I remember the first day playing it I chilled in New Bodhum for a good hour because everything about it was so peaceful and calming.
Yessss I love New Bodhum
Ty Yoonchi
yes, Im really ready go now forward. Thank you
thanks i feel relax more thanks so much
This music makes me want to fall in love
dude, I love this music
THANKS SO MUCH I AM SO RELAXED!!!!
I love the opening of Wish
thanks for the song i really need this and the best is the relaxing song of my favorite final fantasy wwwwwoooooooowwwww
It's back!!!
You done did it.
love the music thanks!, and is there any special order that i should play the games, i've never played them and i would preferably like to go through 1 to 15 but its hard to get the console and game etc. so a top 3 or any order please, thanks!
+Stormaggedn The Peasant no one really plays them in order ^^;
I would say my top three are:
10
8
9
I also really love FFXIII-2 (obviously XD) but you can't play that one until you play XIII first, of course!
I played #1 on my psp and it was interesting to see how it was all first set up but overall meh I guess (no plot)
I'm so happy though because 6-9 (I think?) are on Vita yayyy
ok there is my long post to answer your question lol
I hope you like them!
OMGGGGGGGG THANK YOUUUUU SO MUCHHHH TT.TT
YOU'RE WELCOME!! I'm glad you like it :D
*Spoilers* (maybe o.o)
I just love this game and whole XIII serie, it's so....
Thank you so much
Love it :)
nice music
@Yoonchi Ya, dude, it's Origa, not Orgia.
ohh my bad, good catch!
since this final fantasy we don't have Fmv and cinematic anymore in game :(
13 > 15
Relaxing cribhouse music
Do a video for relaxing world of final fantasy music!
Noel x Serah 4 ever. ^.^
And that was AFTER she had been dead for hundreds of years! >,~,
Drake Blue YES I LOVE YOU, AND HOW COULD GWEN SAY THAT NOEL IS BETTER FOR HER??!!! 😭😭😭
As good as the ost for FFXV is, it doesn't have anywhere as many hard hitting tracks as the FF13 series
i love ff13
I think you should have wrote the start time of every track, it would be easier(?) to find a specific song
+Yoonchi Ya You should change a word in the notes, there's an error. When you say "Rest in piece" what you meant was "Rest in peace" i think, because it doesn't make sense, "piece" means a smaller part of something bigger, literally of course.
Just a heads up.
hahahaha thanks
I had to go back and edit something else and did it on my iphone so I guess that's what happens
um....I appreciate the English lesson though! XD
I didn't mean it like an english lesson, sorry... :|
I didn't think the error was just by mistake, i thought maybe it wasn't your first language or something...
i have seen people make this mistake before. XD
oh yeah, sorry, I was just teasing a bit gomen ne~ XD It's true--homophones are hard lol
kupooopooooooooowwww
timestamps maybe?
❤
Would have been perfect if you added missing link D:

@@YoonchiYacan you repost your remake please?i need it 😢
@@Rawgna it gone 😭
soo..... is this game worth playing? *ducks head*
+mysterydeciphered YES! It's one of my favorites of all time ^.^
+Yoonchi Ya Really? FFX is mine, with Kingdom Hearts being a close second... with that being said, do you still think I will like it?
mysterydeciphered same here! Though KH actually comes in first for me...I think if you like those games then you will DEFINITELY like this one ^^
+Yoonchi Ya awesome I think I'll give it a shot! I actually enjoyed KH's battle systems more, but FFX had a storyline that just had me
mysterydeciphered tell me how you like it! :D hmm yeah it's a tough decision between those two--I think KH just gives me more feels in the end XD
*PLEASE* the closing credits aren't *relaxing* at all! It scared the sh!t outta me because it instantly reminded me of fighting *Caius Ballad* 😂
The anxiety I felt.... gosh the PTSD is real🤣
All in all very nice mix😅👍
ja jajajajajaja jaja jajajajajaja jajajaja
Welp, at least we got this from FF13, at least the music isn't complete shit.
makes me want to come back to this game, ffxv kinda shit
I loved the story of FFXIII but the game sucked at the point of stop playing even kowing that i will not know that good story.
ff 13 to me were the worst out of them all. 7.8.9 to me were the best
