"Bagong Lipunan" - Old Filipino Patriotic Song

- Also known Bagong Pagsilang, the song was created as a march for the political party of the newly established dictator in the country, Ferdinand Marcos

To clarify the confusion:
This song is entitled “Martsa sa Paglikha ng Bagong Lipunan” or “Bagong Pagsilang”. This is not to be confused with the “Bagong Lipunan Hymn” or “Bagong Lipunan” (starting with the line, “Ang bayan ko’y may dangal...). It was actually made by the same composer who made this, Felipe Padilla De Leon, Sr. Although this song is also informally referred to as “Bagong Lipunan”.
And then to add more confusion, there is a bunch of other songs and marches titled “Bagong Lipunan” made during this regime. It’s quite confusing really haha.
Yo nandito ka na rin haha, he finally uploaded Bagong Pagsilang.
Marcos had a boner for songs named "Bagong Lipunan"

As a Filipino, I don't know whether to laugh or be concerned.
Truly one of the anthems ever, for a Philippine president ever.
For those who don't know, Ferdinand Marcos Sr. is the guy who made being Filipino a curse.
Curse??? 🤣
No he didn't lmao. Frankly I'm sick and tired of people blaming him for everything they don't like in the 21st century.
@@nghekkkk828 It's justified. You can say he didn't kill as many people, or that 'all the people he killed are communists'. But this is the guy who installed warlords, borrowed money for projects meant to please people but the debt remained virtually unpaid, mismanaged the economy. Then Cory Aquino gets blamed after inheriting the large debt that Marcos tried to hide to the public for so long. Marcos ruined Filipino patriotism. But real Filipino patriots would want to remove the brainwashing propaganda of Tiktok and memes and have a proper understanding of history and society.
@@KimJongUnGamingAndVlogging ?? your justification in that argument is literally just "umm akshually im the real patriot because i hate the current government" ultimately the point is that marcos sr. shouldnt get the blame from the incompetence of the leaders after him because they were supposed to REVERSE what he did.

Oddly enough, Marcos is the third time we elected the child of a former president. First was Gloria who is the daughter of former president Diosdado Macapagal, second was Peenoy aka BSAIII(RIP) who was the son of Corazon Aquino, and now Marcos Jr.
These sobs were elected within the past 20 years(Filipino presidents serve a single six year term) and the chain was broken by Rody D. Whose own daughter will be running in the next election.

For all the criticisms I have for the oldman Marcos, he's the last president that actually made an effort to strengthen our identity as a nation, also the one who truly tried to have an independent foreign policy.
After his successors took over, there were no longer any efforts to forge a common identity as a nation, no wonder what we have now is a rotten society that is without identity and values, a society that is naive, spineless and no direction.
You're the only one who seriously thinks that. Most people are ashamed of this country due to its embarrassing and corrupt leaders and i'd like to think that Marcos was the root of the rampant corruption which had unfortunately rotted the system.
Also Marcos had an independent foreign policy? He was America's puppet.

Imelda Marcos after sacrificing people to build an art theater in Manila: Sometimes my genius... It's almost frightening.
Sounds more of like a myth as rampant propaganda from the left and his opposition were flourishing back at those years.
@@dudemevill1699 True. Imelda Marcos in 1997 Batas Militar documentary said she did not sacrifice people for it and left them in the drying cement. They were quickly recovered.
Wasn't the accident caused by heavy rain that collapsed the cement?
Indeed. Some sources say she wanted the Manila Film Center to be completed in a year was too rushed to do so, which can cause lots of accidents. Others say that the workers completed the construction a year later without accidents to show that the Philippines was increasing its rapid development. The question remains, were the workers there buried under the cement to continue with the construction of the Manila Film Center? From a TH-cam video I watched a long time ago stated that it was haunted by the dead workers during her time as First Lady in the Marcos Administration.

Firstly, Thank you for featuring my home country on your channel :)
Secondly, the song is march for the Kilusang Bagong Lipunan party (New Society Movement), which was stated in the description. The KBL was founded by the former president-turned-dictator Ferdinand Marcos Sr. He also stated that a constitutional authoritarian rule was needed to create a new society, thus the name of the party.
Third, the song was used as a political chant during the Philippine 2022 general elections. You can look it up.
Just a quick share and hopefully it doesn't sound politically biased to a party.

Even with all the physical, ethnic and linguistic distinctions; we can all still sit down and enjoy a beautiful song from languages that we are fluent or not.
As a french guy I don't really know the history of Philippines except for the battle of Manilla bay between USA and Spain
And I think it's something I need to fix
I'd like to take this time to point out how powerful song is. For the past few years I have witnessed the controversial topic of the Marcos era and how it causes disagreements, arguments, and debates. Seeing how this song was made during the time and Era of the former president Ferdinand Marcos, I look at the comments and see how it is filled with mostly positive (aside from a few) comments and this shows how a song can truly unite people.
How can we say anything remotely positive about a Dictator? This song was made specifically for Marcos' regime, of course it would be received negatively by the anti-Marcos (which I am).May his name be cursed forever, I spit on him and his family.
