Also, they are known for having some of the best vocalists in the industry! They're great live merely for that, not even bringing up the exuberant stage presence they have.
xdinary heroes is a k-rock band consists of 6 members (ages 22 - 24). this comeback will be for their first full album. their music is mostly punk/pop rock I hope you check it some day. the drummer/leader was a former student from berklee and also the member who's been playing the longest (he also plays lot of other instruments but focuses on drums) the keyboardist plays piano when he was a child but stopped on his teenage years but you can still see his experience. the two guitarists plays guitar since they're in highschool but the lead guitarist specifically enrolled in a guitar academy and was taught by professionals which made the difference in their skills. on the other hand, the rhythm guitar mostly rely on his seniors and his own skill in learning the guitar (tho he also done some lessons in a short period). lastly, the bassist and the synthesizer were kind of new in their instruments. the bassist was actually a guitarist back in his highschool band and was told to learn the bass when he entered their company (bcuz they don't have a bass player). the synthesizer was a former athlete and was training to be a dance idol and don't have any experience in playing an instrument before. I believe the two of them are already playing each of their instruments for more than 3 yrs (including the trainee period)
16:56 you know what, the keyboardist is not trained to be in a band, they joined the band at the last moment, they used to be trained as a dance singer, but the one with white keyboard is already playing classic piano when he was young.
Please react to their albums!! Their music is non-skip and all the members are envolved in the composition process! They are always trying new genres and sounds too!
Any song song from them is freaking amazing: here are some: Strawberry cake - the voice! Knock down Pirates Test me X-mas Hair cut- out from ordinary Bicycle- hard one Freaking bad- strong Good enough-slow one Dear h- slow one Break the break - strong Pluto- my favorite Enemy- good rock Again, again- my second favorite
Xdinary Members indeed grew up with their instruments Gun-il, a drum music scholar of Berkeley Jungsu, is a grand piano player and won several awards from being 7 years old. Gaon, has been playing guitar since his middle school. There's a lot of clips of him playing. JunHan, also went to a music school and play with his guitar. He's guitar is his best friend and he is the last member to complete the band. Jooyeon, play guitar in middle school and switched to Bass. I don't know the reason but he loves his Bass because it is sexy😅. While Ode, the synthesizer was trained by the company because he was trained as a dancing trainee before training with the band. That is all for their musical backgrounds.
In reference to the question of whether they had the day6 approach of forcing/instrument boot camp. The answer would be sort of, 4 of the members (specifically the drummer, both guitarists and bassist) auditioned knowing it was for a band (even though the bassist did have to learn bass because the guitarist quota was filled), while the keyboardist and synthesizer were originally dance trainees (ie. a regular idol) that got roped into the band project (one had to fully familiarize with the instrument [synthesizer], and the other one had some experience [keyboard]).
XDINARY HEROES!!! This band is only about 2 years old but I keep getting such a thrill from how much growth they showcase in each comeback 😍 Thank you for checking them out!! So excited for this album next week! I’ve heard snippets of most of the songs from fancams of their concert last weekend. Also listened to the pre-release (Dreaming Girl) about 50 times already 😂 cried a lot the first time. Besides the lyrics, there’s something harmonically stunning in that song that just tugs at the heartstrings. 5/6 members cried onstage while performing it. The two songs you called out as standouts at the end are the two I’ve heard in their entirety and absolutely love - Money on My Mind (Rhythm guitar solo) & Dreaming Girl (“Heavenly feeling”), which has a lyric video of the complete song out on TH-cam now. Their connection to the music is very strong and I can tell they poured everything into this album. The members have writing credits on 8 out of 10 tracks and composing credits on all 10. I think you’ll enjoy their Live Samplers for previous albums too. Their mini albums in release order are: Hello World!, Overload, Deadlock & Livelock. They’re long overdue for a full album; I’m excited!! 😆💕
P.s Wait till you hear the VOICES that come out of the bassist and keyboardist omg, out of this world! And a correction to my earlier comment; Money on my Mind is the one the lead guitarist did solo in this video. MONEYBALL is the rhythm guitarist solo snippet.
thank you for reacting to xdinary heroes !!! the album is coming out on april 30! you should check out their past albums! and ofc the title tracks (Happy death day as their debut then followed by Test me, Haircut, Freakin bad and Break the brake) but the b-sides are worth listening for! You are so right when you said that they are so good live I saw them live last month and it was crazzzyyy,, they also have some live clips on their channel too and awesome covers as well! hope this helps hehe Hello, world Overload Deadlock Livelock (the previous comeback before this)
Ahhh I was not expecting an Irish lad to react to Xdinary Heroes (I'm Irish too). I hope with time we can see more korean groups coming over to Ireland to perform. We've already seen Lee Mujin and Eric Nam, as well as a kpop boy group come over to perform. The closest XH have come is London, so one day maybe they'll think of visiting us ☘ I loved all the little comments you made about their playing and stage presence - and I'm sure you have already read from the other comments, but 5/6 of them grew up playing instruments. Gunil, the drummer, is the leader - and it's a bit unfortunate that he didn't get to fully showcase himself in this medley. So just a background on him, he got a scholarship to Berklee college of music for his drumming, and once he graduated he moved back to Korea to pursue music professionally. The main guitarist who you mentioned sounding like a veteran (which made me extremely happy because he truly deserves so much love and praise) is named Jun Han, and he grew up playing music too. He was asked to learn bass, so he can play it pretty well, but his specialty is guitar as you can see, and he is heavily involved in the composing and lyrics of their songs. The other guitarist is Gaon and he grew up playing in a band. Then there's Jooyeon, the bassist - he also played guitar in a band and started learning bass for the band. The two keyboardists are the only ones who didn't join the company specifically for a band. They trained as idols, did the dancing lessons and all, but got asked to learn instruments for the band. Jungsu, the main keyboardist, actually grew up playing piano so he isn't totally unexperienced. Then Ode, the keyboardist & synthesizer is the only one who didn't grow up playing. Overall, they're all phenomenally well rounded and I'd say Junhan (main guitarist) and Gunil (drummer) are the most refined in their playing.
Thanks for commenting, nice to connect with a fellow Irish K-pop fan! Hopefully there are some good shows coming your way soon. I actually live in the US so I have more luck when it comes to that stuff but it would definitely be cool to see a show back home in Ireland.
That heavenly sound that you mentioned is already release. You can check it "Dreaming Girls". Don't forget to click the subtitle bcoz this song is beautifully written, not only on the chords choice, but also the lyrics 😊
Please react in order to their discography, they are incredibly good. Also I extremely recomend the group straykids, JYP Made amazing groups ❤ both produce their own music and write their lyrics.
A channel called XH moments has videos from one of there concerts Overture which has a mix of their own music also Korean and English speaking group covers which are all live 🖤
ahhh this one was so fun to watch. please do react to more xdinary heroes!! on top of the great instrumentals, they have killer voices as well. my personal favorites are strawberry cake, good enough, and pluto. i hope you make more of these
thank you so much for reacting to xdinary heroes!! their songs are really unique and they love to use many unexpected chord progressions, looking forward to seeing your reactions to more of their stuff!
Thank you for this reaction, as a fan of them I found your commentary very insightful, so I would love to see you react to them more often! Their new album is already out, it's their first full album, but they already have 4 mini albums out! From their new album you wanted to hear dreaming girl and moneyball, also pls check their live performances out, it's totally worth it, I promise, haha
huhu thanks for reacting to xdinary heroes 😭 i hope you can react to their cover songs and then compare it to the original 😆 the ones i really like are tomboy by g-idle, hellevator by stray kids, love me right by exo, and zombie by day6...

their age range is actually 22-26! gunil is a '98er
Also fun fact, the more you listen to their songs, the better they get. Seriously. So good
I strongly second this. You can feel them experimenting, learning, and becoming better musicians/composers as the years go by.
What makes them unique is that they are actively engaging in composing and writing lyrics. Their music shows lots of creativity and individuality.
