The indomitable Tony Geary. This was a perfect swansong for Luke. The tiny expressions that flit across his face... Geary is such an amazing and nuanced actor. People who think he has a limited repertoire are really missing out.
Greatly talented actor, but he really stuck it to the fans who gave him his success by how he ended his story as Luke. He's creative enough that he could have honored the love story and still done new things as Luke's character, if he chose to. Could've been a Cassadine robot, or a WSB agent, any number of ways to go...but a drunk gigolo who lived off Tracy and cheated on Laura was a low class move, imo.
He started out on GH as a small time crook who took a job as a hit man and raped Laura Baldwin within his first year of the show. What do you think is realistic given that scenario? The fact the show ended Luke's run by exploring his brutal childhood and the reasons he became the Luke Spencer we all knew seems wholly appropriate to me. And Geary, himself, resisted attempts to mellow or "neuter" Luke.
