I hate that they rewrote the Fluke storyline just because people were figuring out that Fluke was supposed to be Bill Eckert. They didn’t have to make him Bill. They could have made him another impostor entirely. Making him turn out to be Luke made no sense at all.
That was the plan originally but Ron Calivarti changed it because fans figured it out right away. They did Tony Geary so dirty, and I hope he never comes back.

Jerome had even stated to “Bill” one time about their paths crossing off camera before “Bill” came back. It was going to be Bill for the longest time. They really destroyed Luke with the storyline they went with.

Changing story in the middle is dumb. As George RR Martin said, when you've laid out clues then change the storyline, what you've already written makes no sense. I figured out who Jon Snow's parents were way early on and had fun laughing at others' guesses when the first book included too many clues making it quite plain. This reminds me of friends teaching me how to play Dungeons and Dragons. Three guys were playing and traveled through a desert each holding a box, two of which smelled strongly and the third jingled. Within 15 minutes of game time I made a random remark that it would be funny if these travelers turned out to be the 3 wise men seeking out the Christ child. The DM actually screamed out loud, yelling that I had ruined all his careful planning. 😏 Lesson: Don't make your story so obvious that the audience guesses the big reveal way ahead of time. Still, Tony Geary's acting in this is awesome. Luke-in-a-straightjacket is almost unrecognizable until he looks up at the end.

Ron Calivarti was really going to do Bill Eckart, but fucking changed his mind because the fans figured it out. So they went with Fluke. A cop-out which ruined Luke’s character in my opinion. Geary himself admitted he was glad it wasn't Bill Eckert. This plot twist was so much better. Storylines shouldn't be predictable. The show is complete utter garbage now, haven't watched in years.
