I just caught one today, but there is no way I would be removing it from the trap, washing and reusing the trap! It was a messy kill. I just picked the entire thing up with latex gloves and threw it away. They are cheap enough that I'm not reusing!
I caught one this morning with this trap. 1 little bugger down, hopefully no more left here. I did add the PB but recently discovered they live plan old flour. Had to clean up after many of them in a grocery warehouse where I work. They ignored all the things we would think they would like and headed straight for the flour bags. Guess they like their carbs.
The trick is to set it as close as possible to your desired location. Bait it, then hold back the kill bar with your right thumb, GENTLY push the paddle against the pull arm, SLOWLY and GENTLY pull away your finger from the paddle. If done correctly (it takes some practice), the paddle should stay in place. PULL AWAY your right thumb from the corner of the kill bar sideways like hell. It should stay. SLIDE it into place with something long, like a flathead screwdriver or stick, SLOWLY.
i’ve spent the last 40 minutes trying to set these things and i CANNOT get the yellow part to stay up, i’ve given it more than enough tension for the kill bar and it always snaps back. it’s pissng me off so i quit.
one thing you didn't show is setting the trap with slimy peaut butter on it. It's almost impossible. For one thing the yellow bait holder is slippery and will not hold the peanut butter easily. And then when you try to set it it has peanut butter all over it especially where the metal arm goes and causes it to slip out giving you sore fingers. There are better ones out there folks. I through mine away.
I just ordered and received 12 of these on Amazon, but they won't set. I have set these before, but the Victor traps I got today absolutely will not set, but I have almost snapped a few of my fingers off trying to set them. What a waste of money.
Exactly the same here! I don't even know what to do with all these traps I got. Funny though, I did set two of them and got a mouse trapped, they do seem to be pretty powerful. SO I bought some more and this time they just won't set! I guess, one can set them and they work ok, IF you can get that yellow plastic part stay up. Now that is impossible, it's incredibly frustrating...
These vector Pre bait traps suck Ace...the "FIRM" and "SENSITIVE" sections don't matter. They're a pain to set up. You have to pull the bar back, take the arm and put it over it, and while holding the arm up, you have to place the arm in the hole, and then lift up on the bar enough for it to lock in place all without snapping your fingers...or a jump scare.

You should wear latex gloves for handling the traps because your oil and scent from touching it can keep the mice away.

No one builds a better mousetrap. A little tricky to set - but very effective. I just use them once - and toss the whole mess - done.

I'm using catch master it's expensive and I'm still throwing it away once I catch a rat or mouse.
Will it work if the peanut butter is under the yellow thingy instead of on top
