Enjoyed the video.I am a mature rider 68 with 51 years of riding, still ride a sport bike but really considering a Speed Twin. A good tip when doing rear shock work is use a scissor type car jack between the top of the rear tire and underside of the seat.
I went from a 2005 Suzuki GSX1400 to a 2018 Triumph Street Scrambler and now a 2019 Triumph Scrambler 1200 XC. If I would get another bike beside my XC it would be a Speed Twin I think. Just love the sound of a parallell twin. The red Speed Twin is just gorgeous.
Great stuff! Really sells the motorcycle. At least it sold me and you were pretty steady at 127 mph, all things considered. Thanks for taking the time to make the video.
I have bought mine recently and purchased her in a dealer 500km+ far from my home. So the motorcycle debut was a quite long trip. I was really uncomfortable with that cause I am acquainted with my other bike, a big trail wich I use for such rides. Nevertheless I was surprised with its performance as far as not only it’s inherently power and torque but also its confort, manouverability and stability. Despite being a “naked” bike, I could manage the wind quite easy. So for while I have just installed a sump guard, a crash bar and my Garmin support. Good video as usual and thank you very much for sharing your experience with us. Ride safe🙏
I have exactly the same bike with about 6500 miles on it now. But mine is bog stock. I have changed nothing at all and see no reason to. It’s pretty much perfect as it is. I was tempted to mod the suspension but the mechanic at the dealer said that if you’re going to do the back you’d need to do the front too. It’s a lot of expense for what exactly? I won’t be taking my Speed Twin to the track. I just bought a second hand Ducati Supersport to fulfill my knee down cravings and let the Triumph excel where it does. Fantastic bike. At 60, I’m sort of over modding my bike. It’s an age thing. I no longer care. My 999 (currently not on the road) has all sorts of carbon bits but I won’t be modding the Supersport either. It’s fine as it is. Saves a whole heap of cash!
Your bike looks awesome, and I commend you for doing all the mods while under warranty! I bought a new T100 a year ago, and am waiting on the mods until it goes out of warranty. Your videos are entertaining and you crack me up.
Speed twin,my first bike in my life. After Triumph,i ride at - Honda (cb400,cb1100,cb300r,cb650r,cb1000r,cbr650r,cb650f),Yamaha mt09, Kawasaki 900rs. So - Triumph ST is Perfect!
Good vid. Your Speed Twin is an inspiration to the other Speed Twin owners out there and just knowing where yours has gone has definitely inspired me to mod mine as well. Although I'm still not sure what to do with my bike. But I've definitely appreciated watching your vids. To many more years of Speed Twin riding!
My 09 Speed Triple has been trouble free for 40k, my wifes 675r same. My Bonneville T100 just wasn't cut out for our freeways here in AZ. No guts over 70. Buh bye to that one. My Trophy SE had a gremlin and I sold it. Engine and trans are pretty bullet proof though. Speed Twin is next! Thanks for the inspiration and entertainment!
I have to say the mods you've done are kind of an amalgamation of oddities that somehow manage to all look a bit off somehow? We all like different stuff I guess? And you've definitely had your share of lessons learned. Keep plugged away and at least you started with something good to begin with.
Love the videos. I’m a complete coward when it comes to modifying my bikes but maybe someday I might try an easy cosmetic job! As far as reliability goes I think that’s mostly a legacy of old British bikes from yesteryear... I’ve been round the Triumph factory and seen some of the attention to detail that goes into their bikes and it’s mind-blowing. Anyway, keep up the good work 👍
Thanks for all the videos you have done on the speed twin fantastic bike glad I have mine now looking forward to riding it this year and seeing more of your video's thanks again 🇬🇧👍🏻
Great Video Adam - Nice upgrade choice and appreciate the honesty when some of them were later found to be either undesirable or just frivolous. Go catch a Tiger 900 GT Pro by the tail ! I'd love to see that upgraded
Great video! Just a point, whenever I have swapped rear shocks I have done one side at a time. I guess there must have been a reason why you didn't, maybe the length was different to the standard shocks but even so you could have wound the springs down on one Ohlin before fitting, then wound it back up to match the other when you fitted it?
Georg Dieter I despise the yellow head light. The owner of my dealership did the thing with the yellow head light on his Thruxton and to me it ruined the whole package.
Hello, Adam! You are one of the few, who puts out Speed Twin vids regularely, thank you for that! It was very useful for my Speed Twin too. During this year I was surprised how few channels are covering this beautiful creation. Outside the official test rides, that is. Do you know any other active english speaking motovloggers having a Speed Twin. Except TheMissendenFlyer and FarmerTorque, I mean. Thanks!
I bought a Triumph Bobber Black in May 2019 and I absolutely love the Bobber. You made some nice adjustments to your bike. Especially the exhaust! Too sad, in Germany (probably whole Europe) this kind of tuning is not allowed... :-(
Just amazing beautiful ✨🧐😲 ... but hey man, you just changed everything. Should be your business, so perfect 👌🏻 Guess it was a process, so thoughts had to come, but finally with patience, will and obviously love you made it. Respect 👍🏻👍🏻 - thx for sharing with us, ride safe !
Adam; Thought I loved the 1050 Sprint till owning my Speed Twin. Your comments are spot on imo. I added a set of Ackripovic fork inserts to mine. Seems to have made the ride MORE compliant though I've not taken the time to properly set it up as Winter came on. Other than that and paint it's bout like yours. No Vance and Hines or Corbin though. I love it as it is now. No more changes in the future. (Did add peg re-positioners and spongy handlebar grips. Big improvement.)
Thruxton rear shocks, want to upgrade the front suspension, seems like you bought the wrong bike? :) I love that you put the V&H exhaust with the X pipe AND did a sound check! No one seems to do that. I have the X pipe on my Thruxton but still the stock stainless cans. Yours sounds really nice! Can you comment on the use of the booster plug? OH, and if you find yourself doing shocks again, do one at a time. Bike will hold itself up with just one.
Thank you for an entertaining vid! At 3k miles in one year, you've spent more weekends modding than ridding lol. I get it though, I've owned a Speed Triple 995i and a Bonneville SE over the last 20 years and spent the equivalent of a new bike modding them and gearing up for moto camping trips. I enjoy wrenching on bikes especially since we have long winters in Canada. I applaud all your choices as far as mods, all top shelf parts and the licence plate is clean. The Corbin though is on the gaudy side, I hope it's at least comfortable. The stock seat looks much better. I bought a used Corbin (thank God) for my Speed Triple, never liked it. Locked me in the same position and cut the circulation to my nut sack. It was heavy, didn't fit right, gouged my tank and tail, soaked up water like a sponged and kept my ass wet days after. Almost gave the damn thing away. Now my question for you is since you've upgraded your exhaust, cat delete and air filter, have you remapped your ECU? If not, you're not getting anywhere near your investment potential performance wise and most likely running lean which can lead to engine damage. Mike at Triumph Twin Power has been the benchmark for tuning carb and efi twins. I don't know if he's worked on the Speed Twin yet, but it's definitely worth giving him a call, stand up guy. As for me, I've gone to the dark side and impulse bought a blacked out new Yamaha Vmax, or as I like to call it, The Horse of the Apocalypse. There no going back lol.
Thanks! Yeah wrenching is just as fun as the riding sometimes! No Ecu mapping yet, I’m sure it would be beneficial. It doesn’t seem that I’m running lean as it smells rich since I added the booster plug, however I have now hard data to back that up! I’ve always wanted a vmax! When I was in high school a guy in my class had one and rode it to school all the time. I was Jealous! For me I still like the gen 1 over the gen 2 but I’m sure that thing is crazy fun!
Ahh, well I'll take runnin' a little rich any day vs. runnin' too lean. Btw, if you've tried and liked a Gen 1 Max, snapping the throttle back on a Gen 2 is like being drunk back in college getting your prostate fingered for the first time without a heads up from that chick who was into Bauhaus.
After 9 months ownership I also love my speed twin and its performance. I miss at your videos any luggage upgrade. I fixed sw.motech LC1 black edition panniers and I love the way they suit my speed twin. Greetings from Spain.
Heya Juan, do you have some pictures on the LC1 with bracket and without bracket ? what are your feeling on those luggages ? are they enought for a long weekend trip ? what do you use if you need to make a long roadtrip ? Thanks you.
@@maelsampeur8111 Hi, I think they are enough for a weekend although they are only 10 liters capacity. However, there is a 14 liters version and even other models which use the same rack (sys bag and Urban models). So, in one rack you can use different panniers from sw-motech. The pannier attaches very solid and the brackets are quite discrete when panniers are not attached. Sorry for my poor explanations in English (I live in Spain). For any more details or pictures you can email me juanrosadosva@gmail.com and I will send you with panniers and only bracket.
Beautiful and you are fearless with your mods. I’d like one of these but I’d need to get a “sissy” seat back rest for my partner to feel safe as a pillion. Meanwhile I’ll have to stick with my T120. I really enjoyed your video. Thanks.
I’ve done many of the same mods that you have Adam. My next will definitely be the self canceling turn signals. Something that should be standard on all motorcycles and my other bike being a BMW I get so used to them canceling it’s downright dangerous when I ride the speed twin and forget.
I just hit 1 year with my 2019 Triumph ScramblerXE 1200...and year to day I clocked 12,847 miles. Over 13k now and tire set three goes on next Friday! No mods other than tires and a Dart Flyscreen. Other than that...Riding. Riding. Riding. PacNW too😉 Ride on!
I have a heavily molded Triumph Bobber Black , So I know what It Is to be passionate about your bike . Nicely done mate nicely done . PS air box delete ?
Hi Adam, a couple of questions: where did you purchase the nut/fastener in the middle of the fork? It looks quite well machined. Having purchased the Öhlins shocks, did you think about purchasing the Öhlins cartridges for the fork tubes? By the way, I love my Corbin seat. I don’t understand why you discarded yours. Cheers
The steering stem but is a stock part from the thruxton, got it from the dealership. I will eventually to the fork cartridges! The Corbin seat is ok, but I can’t use it with my rear rack or my saddle bag mounts, I’d have to have it altered. The stock seat has just been more convenient for shorter rides for now.
Hi friend, I do have a Speed Twin as well and I have overcome this issue with an old trick I‘ve been using for a long time, it is a kind of cushion made of silicon which I attach to the OEM seat. It is stealth and provides the additional comfort I am looking for and you can detach it just losening a Velcro strap. Have good ride!
Hahahaha! I watched this after eating my dinner and did a huge burp literally just before you @ 20:40, so it sounded like you immediately burped back at me! 😁 BTW, thanks for the upload, great bike and nice upgrades.👍
Hi Adam. I am seriously considering buying the speed twin in May but have some concerns. How long do you have to wait for triumph parts to come in? One youtuber said he had to wait 3 months for a warranty part to come in. What is your experience or is it to early to tell? Also have you had any problems with bike in the past year? Thank You
I have had no issues regarding parts, I had my gear shift sensor go bad and the dealership had it within the week. And when I ordered my Vance and Hines pipes they came from Europe through triumph, and it was no more than a week to receive those as well. This was all when the bike was very new, now that it’s been out for over a year I wouldn’t worry about part supplies.
Great, thank you. It's this or the Z900RS. I want the power but want to be able to just enjoy the ride. Z900 might be to much to hold a steady speed just cruising.
Last year I rode a 2019 Z900 RS and then a Speed Twin. Both have the looks to me in their own ways, but a big factor was the way each put down the power. I enjoyed the drivetrain feel better in the Speed Twin so that's what I got. Z900 RS in the Root Beer color was cheaper, so it had that as a positive, not enough to sway the decision in its favor though. Test ride both back to back if you can, it may be a difference maker.
Adam great video as usual .. I got a question .. all the reviews are of people riding the bike for the first time .. I’m on the fence between this bike and the Kawasaki z900rs .. I prefer the Triumph but I’m scare about the bike reliability.. lots of people claiming issue with gear box and poor customer service .. what’s y experience
Love the bike and your videos helped me decide to get a speed twin! With that rack what options do you have for luggage? I got the heated grips and tire pressure monitors and that’s it so far
Your bike came out perfect, I would of done all the same mods. Love the turn signals! What brand are they? I plan on getting a Speed Twin sometime this year. Rumor has that a Speed Twin R may be coming out before the summer, we shall see.
Yeah they look nice, I would never do it personally though because they are heavier than the stock ST wheels and they would no longer be tubeless. The thruxton needs tubes because of the wheels having spokes. I’ve never trusted tubes over tubeless wheels even though they’ve been used successfully for many years! If they ever made spoked wheels like BMW does with their GS series bikes being tubeless I’d then be extremely tempted!
It tricks the ecu into thinking it’s colder outside which riches up the air fuel ratio. Here is a link to their website: www.boosterplug.com/shop/cms-21.html
should of kept the stock seat...(in case needed)Personnaly think stock around LED turn signals looked lot better then what you replaced.Stock had lot of character your replacement run of the mill.Anyway enjoy it.The grill on headlight is unnecessary just looks juvenile. No you are not going to off road on it.
Hmm... Serious makeover for a Motorcycle which’d have only 3000 miles per year ! Speed Twin was my favorite Modern Classic before that sweet Inline 4 exhaust of Z900 RS made me switch sides ! Anyway, Speed Twin is no longer sold here in India and Z900 RS is insanely priced, so I’m more than happy with my ‘beauty and the beast’ - Kawasaki Vulcan S !!!
I’m 6’, it’s a very comfortable bike, you should be fine and probably even more upright that I am, you could always adjust the handle bar height to fine tune it.
Picking up my Speed Twin in two weeks, so great to watch this. You’ve been busy on your bike! Great video.
Enjoyed the video.I am a mature rider 68 with 51 years of riding, still ride a sport bike but really considering a Speed Twin. A good tip when doing rear shock work is use a scissor type car jack between the top of the rear tire and underside of the seat.

It's teue that money can't buy everything, some things are built not bought!! Great vid man!

Just simply, thanks Adam. Love the bike and your style! Real world with a few laughs thrown in!!
i'm very fond of your sharing customize process to this bike, well

Thanks for that. Taking possession in couple of weeks so really relevant stuff

bro i know what pain you've been through to edit this video. props to you brother.
12:15 To change the rear shocks you do first one side and than the other side. So you don't have this problems like you had.
Thanks for the vid. It's good to hear from an owner. I have been sold on the speed twin for a while!
Love all the mods on your bike! Thanks for the videos, If you don’t mind I’m going to steal some of your ideas. I just bought a gray 2019 speed twin.
Wow. This video is amazing! Saving this for when I get my dream Speed Twin in Silver Ice
I have to say the mods you've done are kind of an amalgamation of oddities that somehow manage to all look a bit off somehow? We all like different stuff I guess? And you've definitely had your share of lessons learned. Keep plugged away and at least you started with something good to begin with.
Keep it up mate. Funny and real. Good job.
I’ve just got a new Street Triple RS which is my 4th consecutive Triumph spanning the past 10 years and they’ve given me no trouble (I wouldn’t have kept buying them if they had). Anyway, keep up the good work 👍
This is a great video. Nice work dude. These bikes are the way.
That's gonna be my next bike! I owe a street triple 765 RS, but I just loved Spreed twin!
Awesome video. Love the way you put everything together.
YOU MADE IT WONDERFUL !!!!!
My next 2nd bike !
;-))
Greetings from VIENNA :-)
Love the bike. Love Triumphs! Enjoyed the video. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for all the videos you have done on the speed twin fantastic bike glad I have mine now looking forward to riding it this year and seeing more of your video's thanks again 🇬🇧👍🏻
sweet bike. I want one some day. I just bought a Suzuki sv 650. a 2020. was more affordable lol. I love it tho. just hit 50 miles on it.
For me it be the headlight ,exhaust, shocks setup ,but overall it looks great ride safe 👍
Great Video Adam - Nice upgrade choice and appreciate the honesty when some of them were later found to be either undesirable or just frivolous. Go catch a Tiger 900 GT Pro by the tail ! I'd love to see that upgraded

Georg Dieter I despise the yellow head light. The owner of my dealership did the thing with the yellow head light on his Thruxton and to me it ruined the whole package.
Looking to buy one this year so thanks for the insight. Mind you I’m sure the designers are having a heart attack looking at all the changes!
Good vid Adam, keep it up
Keep it up with the rubber side down. Great video.

Damn! 126 on an undivided highway! Scary!
this is what i would do, what headlight lens is that? the yellow one
I was looking to buy one, but affraid they come out with the Speed Twin R next year. So I just wait probably.
With the Thruxton out I doubt they will do an R.
Possibly the best video about the Speed Twin on TH-cam! Where did you source that horn from?
Thank you! The horn was ordered from Amazon.
One of the best videos I have seen, keep it up!
Dear Adam, comparing the speed twin to the Ducati Diavel can highlight the pros / cons for each.
Thanks
Adam great video as usual .. I got a question .. all the reviews are of people riding the bike for the first time .. I’m on the fence between this bike and the Kawasaki z900rs .. I prefer the Triumph but I’m scare about the bike reliability.. lots of people claiming issue with gear box and poor customer service .. what’s y experience
Hello Adam Croll, Have you ever seen signs of coolant leaking from the small hole in the middle of the oil pan under your speed twin?
The Öhlins rear shocks look great, but to long for my short legs.
I hope you moved the steering damper as it was rubbing on some cables in your video
Great video...I swore i'd never go for another naked living in the UK...but dam....Does it have a centre stand?
They do not have one.
Love. Your. Bike.
I love my Speed twin, even more since I took the cat out.
Love this bike but as soon as I sat on it, it was apparent it was too small for my 6'2" frame. Maybe built for a 5'6" guy/ gal!
I feel comfortable at 6’. 32” inseam.
Love the bike and your videos helped me decide to get a speed twin! With that rack what options do you have for luggage? I got the heated grips and tire pressure monitors and that’s it so far
Great Job:)
I really enjoy the vids, u r one of the best out here.
simple anda pratical, great job Great Bike.
Hi, m planning to get this bike , have u had any overheating issues with the engine. Thanks
Never any issues so far!
Gee, where did you get the honk from?
kinda funny that it tops at 130, my street cup tops at 115 too. you'd think that would be pretty low for the engine size
Your bike came out perfect, I would of done all the same mods. Love the turn signals! What brand are they? I plan on getting a Speed Twin sometime this year. Rumor has that a Speed Twin R may be coming out before the summer, we shall see.
They are Rizoma turn signals!
I was thinking that the Speed Twin would look amazing with the Thruxton Silver spoked rims
Nice video. Wat is a booster plug bytheway ? wat does it do to the bike ?
It tricks the ecu into thinking it’s colder outside which riches up the air fuel ratio. Here is a link to their website: www.boosterplug.com/shop/cms-21.html
after installing the X pipe, did you have to tune it or modify anything on the bike, or was it just plug and go?
Have you tried Ninja 1000sx, if you were to pick 1, would you pick speedy or ninja 1000sx ?
After 1 year if you still have the same money and want to buy a bike which has so much torque, will you still buy a Speed twin or a different one?
Yes I’d still buy this bike!
should of kept the stock seat...(in case needed)Personnaly think stock around LED turn signals looked lot better then what you replaced.Stock had lot of character your replacement run of the mill.Anyway enjoy it.The grill on headlight is unnecessary just looks juvenile. No you are not going to off road on it.
Like your vids, but I gotta ask- did you know your bar end mirrors are backwards? Round sides should be pointing in.
I do, this orientation keeps it as narrow as possible to aid in lane splitting on the freeways. I can still see behind me fine!
hi where did you buy the ohlins rear shocks in yellow color pls
Got them off eBay, they are from a thruxton R.
Pardon my ignorance, but what's the purpose of a yellow headlight?
Looks! I’ve since taken it off. I have seen fog lamps that were yellow though, maybe the yellow light cuts through fog better?
Is it good for touring on highways or a little bit potholes road?
The Underground Man : Thank you sir ! It’s great knowing that I’ve that ONE motorcycle !
Nice video. How tall are you? I’m 6.2 and I’m corcerned about being confortable on the motocycle.
I’m 6’, it’s a very comfortable bike, you should be fine and probably even more upright that I am, you could always adjust the handle bar height to fine tune it.
A new more padded stock seat.

Hi I’m 6’ tall this bike gonna fit well on me?
Yes! I’m 6’ as well. And I’ve heard people as tall as 6,4 still being comfortable.
Any picture? To see the sizes
