    Lyrics:
    Don’t count on me again
    I obsess on our encounters
I want us to be friends.
I’m not hopeless, helpless, or begging you to stay
It’s just turning out that way.
    I’m mapped out your lie
And you aren’t good for me.
But I’ll follow all your orders
And you can have all of me.
While I sit back, and think of how I used to be.
There ain’t nothin’ left to do
    But dream.
What if all these fantasies come rushing in at night
But it’s just too far for the ancients to allow?
And I’m trapped at home just waiting for
    You to call
    I know
    it’s over now.
    Don’t count on me again
    I obsess on our encounters
I want us to be friends.
I’m not hopeless, helpless, or begging you to stay
It’s just turning out that way.

It should be noted that Marissa did all of that animation by hand directly on a 35mm print of the film herself in the span of something like four days. Around 9,000 frames. Very impressive, and when I saw it completed for the first time I was blown away by what she had accomplished. She is an extremely talented artist in so many areas. Thought y'all should know.

Pete Larsen I'm an amatuer animator myself, which means I like and know about it but suck at it, and this is really, really impressive.
The lead made the body part/intestine looking things herself too.

When I finally listened to Screaming Females, this was the first song I listened to and fell in love with them. I couldn't afford to buy the album at the time so I just listened to this playlist multiple times a day for a month. Best of luck to them with whatever they do next.

Thank you to the members of Screaming Females for making passionate music. I am an older somewhat jaded musician myself and I rarely find new music I enjoy. I feel like I understand the problems that go along with doing something a bit off the beaten path. I am so glad to have discovered your work and I am hoping you have a long and productive career making more great music. Since I am personally aware that it is difficult to pay bills with praise alone, I am off to put some coin in the hat and buy a record or two. Keep up the good work!

Yes their music is beautiful but you won't ever see Them going big time for the soul fact that she doesn't look what the world calls "beautiful". Even though beauty comes from he soul and so does great music, she reminds me of Johnny cash such beautiful music enough to make you cry.

Stevie Ray Vaughn was said to have played so hard that the calluses on his fingertips would tear off, he would glue them back on with super glue and keep going. Marissa gets compared to lots of really talented people but fact is, she is unique among all of them. Marissa has blessed the world with her gift, it's normal for us to try and figure it out. Thanks Marissa, and Thanks Mike, and Thank you Jarret!

    So tight and so right.

This is the only Screaming Females song I can play on my guitar. All the rest are way too hard. Marissa is a magician on the guitar. She pulls melodies and rifts out of seemingly nothing and everything and her soloing is very difficult. And to sing whilst doing all this seems unreal to me.

I like the song and the band, but I'd just like to comment on the sound of the drums. It's perfect. It's clear and present without a muddy bass or an ear piercing snare. It's been a while since I heard drums in a rock band recorded this well. I swear, they almost sound like a drum machine.

My new favorite band!! A fb friend told me to check them out so I did. I just saw them for free in chicago at a festival and they killed it!! They opened with a cover of smashing pumpkins 'bullet with butterfly wings' which is awesome cause I hear a little bit of early smashing pumkins in their music, like gish and siamese dream. Marissa's voice reminds me alot of famous spanish artist called Enrique Bunbury, for anyone that is familiar with 'rock en espanol'. I want to see them a small venue when they come back. hopefully the metro,or the vic,or the riv. It pisses me off that great bands like this are not getting played on corporate radio and were forced to listen to the same fuggin bands over and over...thank odin for the internet, huh?! Same goes for my other favorite band that should be way more known, 'Kitten'. They're very 80s/90s snyth style if you're into that.

    • @juans5647
      @juans5647 8 ปีที่แล้ว

No sorry I havent seen anything yet show up. they do have 2 songs that are very smashing pumpkins inspired, like from SP's first album. She has gotten the enunciation's much stronger in the vocals to a very nice effect lately. Looking forward to seeing them end a tour in Philly on the 29th of Aug. At least there are no later gigs on their website thus far. Just a good solid band that paid their dues and sound great.

This is a monster anthem! After 7 or 8 listens, I know that Rose Mountain is stuffed with hits, but this one is a brilliant singalong earworm. Seems kind of obvious but not that easy to write or everyone would do it. The structure of the song is interesting and some of the melodies Beethoven might have written.

Proper music. Wilco Johnson used to leave blood on the guitar as well.

And Peter Townsend’s windmill right arm left blood all over him and his guitar.

This is so good, I'm watching it at work and resisting the urge to crawl into the fetal position and hyperventilate. The goosebumps have been gotten!

it's a PERFECT deathbed song. lie, 'as i lay dying', and all that...for someone who's been suffering. i mean, it is, all just a series of small deaths'til THEE 1-and-only'big' death...then it stands to reason that it would progress PAST death, to sumthin' else. whatever, i'm just sayin', w/ this song. it's like someone who's in bed dying (in BOTH cases. ah.), suffering ( & again), and is trying to call someone who can help (grim-reaper, or...); and, in the end, maybe he DOES end up coming; but, either way, it's over...time to pass energy and experiences, language, and hang-ups, on to the youngins, and all that, 'cause you DONE, Son. jaaaaayzus...i been listening to this song WAAAAAY too much. i'm scrambled AND spent.
