    I like how the first part of each of the videos is organized "Rent, utilities, savings, etc" but then the bulk of the video is just listing random expenses that they have. I think it would be better if they started with all the major buckets: rent, savings, groceries, drinks, restaurants, recurring bills, entertainment, travel, etc and then dug into it that way.

    • @frisbeeeater

      Daniel Stefan 100% agree. At least tally these miscellaneous expenses into some type of organization. I don’t get the point

      @amyelr 5 ปีที่แล้ว +21

      Totally agree. Like ok, you spent $9 on an Uber. But how much are you spending on Uber/taxis/subway for the month? I know what I spend on my car, gas, etc; and it would be more interesting to be able to compare. Listing every transaction gets boring.

    • @jolenezl
      @jolenezl 5 ปีที่แล้ว +20

      her 401k and roth ira cannot be taken out easily without losing money, and probably the same goes for her investment. Some people just don't like to take out a chuck out of their savings, in her case it would be almost 50% of her savings, so by taking a loan, she can take her time paying it off without "losing" half of her savings. I am sure that's just a personal choice :)

    • @dreamlaughwishful
      @dreamlaughwishful 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      J. C makes a great point, but also she probably wants to have a solid emergency fund still in her savings. She probably took out the dental loan because it was more of an urgent matter. Also, she's consistently working to pay off the loan, so in her mind it probs made the most tsense.

    • @suetinz
      @suetinz 5 ปีที่แล้ว +16

      Completely agree about her retirement savings. However, to me it seems nuts to save $500 per month while in debt. I doubt she’s earning more interest on her savings than she’s paying on her debt, so mathematically it makes no sense (even sitting aside the risk aspect). It would be better to divert that monthly saving towards her debt to pay it down and then restart saving.

    I love these videos too, but I feel sadly that people see this as an opportunity to criticize other people's spending. If you're not getting up each morning and getting out there to grind and bring in the income, you have no right to criticize the financials of others. This young woman is living her best life, handling her obligations and contributing to society but thats not enough for some people. Ask yourself why you feel so compelled to criticize the financial choices of other people

    • @cartoonexpert8764
      @cartoonexpert8764 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      rlp230. Comparing is not criticizing and even if they are thats why its put on here to use this as an example to some what to do and what not to do. Doesn't matter if their not getting up and making the money themselves anyone can say what they would or wouldn't do with that amount of money. Like some would pay of student loans and others wouldn't. I think they put it on here so we can explore what we would do in their shoes
