taking the sim card out and putting it back in (with no changes) is what just worked for me, Iphone XR that updated to 16 a couple days ago and then got the "No Sim" message today.
I update to iOS 16.7.1 and noticed the “no SIM card” and “SOS” in the upper left corner. I have tried a everything except the factory reset. I turned off phone, removed the SIM card, reset the network. Nothing works!! What did Apple do? Why are there so many issues when updating APPLE software. So frustrating!! Certain things I can’t do because buttons are deactivated. What’s going on! I have an iPhone 8. Not interested in buying an updated phone either! Apple should carry responsibility for this issue!!!
I appreciate the video. But I tried all of these at least twice. Some of them more than twice and none worked for me. So damn frustrating. Actually, I didn’t do the factory reset but I might if I get desperate.
Did you fix it somehow? I have the same problem and Im worried that some contact isn't working.. I don’t want to spend extra money on gettin it fixed at store..

Ok guys go into settings > cellular and switch between either Primary Sim or Personal Sim toggle between them and lmk how it goes

Not fake. It’s a really good tool may not fix your problem because it could be your carrier that’s the issue.
