    I just returned from fishing a Texas Hill Country private lake. The Zoom Magnum UV Speed worm in watermelon red was the most productive bait, by far. Texas rigged, weightless. Caught and released about 40 large mouth and Guadalupe bass in a weekend. That worm was irresistible!

    OMG! I KID YOU NOT...just yesterday evening my husband and I got $100.00 worth of those exact worms! Even in the exact brand. I had recently decided not to invest in a dedicated Frogging combo. So, I read up about that worm and went with it as a frogging substitute for my 4 Med Heavy Fast Action baitcaster combos. I had them reel the combos (4) with braid. For my 2 Medium Spinning combos they rigged me up with Flouro. I left the store with mixed feeling. Were my choices going to work well enough or would I regret not investing in a dedicated Frogging set up? I don't know, time will tell. But for now I'm very pleased based on this AWESOME VIDEO !!! You literally just gave me the KEYS TO THE TOP WATER KINGDOM, as well as the MIDDLE COLUMN AND BOTTOM !!!
    Seriously, THANK YOU - THANK YOU - THANK YOU.

    Great video (as usual!). I decided to give these worms a shot at my favorite milfoil lakes this summer. I've been searching for more info on the magnum 7" Zoom size but not a bunch of info out there. I get the feeling FL gets the dibbs on that big worm, but I'm going to give it its due here in northeast milfoil lakes cause if an 8" Bullworm works like a charm, then I can't see why the magnum speed worm wouldn't work as well.

    • @evancole3620
      @evancole3620 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      if you’re fishing from the bank you can’t beat the Lews KVD 7’0” MH. it’s very stiff but still sensitive for a 99$ medium heavy rod.

    • @pamelaklemp5615
      @pamelaklemp5615 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I use a LEWS Pro Speed Stick and have been very happy with it. Medium Heavy, Fast Action. I teamed it with the LEWS Custom Pro Speed Spool baitcaster. I think the gear ratio is 7-3-5, not sure, maybe a little faster but bank fishing I tend to slow my retrieve down more than when I'm boat fishing if that helps.

      @@pamelaklemp5615 craziness - not everyone has a fishery where every other fish is 6lbs +. I would not hesitate to fish the 6" with 1/4 oz or less on spinning, maybe 15# braid to even a 10# leader unless in very thick cover (grass, or wood) in which case you might be safer with casting gear.

      @@bruceraiken2806 I spend 5 3/4 months per year on a World Class Trophy Bass Lake in Florida so, yes, heavy vegetation and cover are always a factor regardless of the water column your fishing in. Braid and a fast reel to bring it OUT quickly before they can dive and entwine in the thick stuff...that's NOT CRAZY in the least.

      Not sure what part of the country you are in but if you have OLLIE'S Stores there then that's where I found my supply of those worms. Bought all they had in Green Pumpkin pepper, Black/Blue, Black, Black/Purple, Red flake, Watermelon Red, Purple /Blue flakes. White pearl (like a Morning Dawn color). Nice haul! I was thrilled.
      I basicly bought them in the same colors that i use in the Bandido Bugs. I use them in Florida whenever I'm down here.

      Fortunately i have a stockpile of other swimming worms....gambler, reaction innovations, etc. honestly I probably like them better. My point in the above post is that you cant find the good colors of most your favorite baits.....without paying markups. Yes some places have them, some small tackle stores, mom and pops stores, the big tackle stores on the gulf.....but most out. been like that since covid. I’ll be glad when some of these idiots at the lakes and public waterways that decided they were gonna be pro fisherman during covid give it up again. Ive seen more broken off lines and baits and trash in the lake over past year than ever. And not to mention most of them have no idea how to drive a boat or respect other anglers areas during tourneys, etc. I guess the good thing is, I found 2 jackhammers in the trees on nickajack, and I went to pull a loose line out the water one day at cumberland that had a 2lb live bass still on it with a megabass jerkbait in his lip. I really couldn’t believe it....looked like it was tied onto to 6lb mono or so....... I mean just silly. I get clear water finesse, but thats not practical and why they broke off.
