I think EUK 134 is worthy of a mention. Estee Lauder has done studies showing it reduces lipid peroxidation IN VIVO on real human subjects. Soooooo many claimed antioxidants in skincare have little to no evidence of antioxidant activity within the skin, so for a molecule to be shown to reduce lipid peroxidation in human skin is a very high bar that very few antioxidants have evidence of doing. It seems like most cosmetic companies test a plant extract in a test tube, see it has some antioxidant activity, and immediately declare it as a new antioxidant for the skin. Dr. Pinnell, the founder of Skinceuticals, has done studies of irradiating human skin to test for antioxidant activity, and found most antioxidants fail to provide any protection from erythema. Even Alpha Lipoic Acid and Coenzyme Q10 were found to have no protective effect on human subjects. Really eye opening stuff for getting through the marketing claims these companies make!

@@kathleenp3135 The Ordinary has a 0.1% EUK 134. It's also found in a variety of Estee Lauder products and some Clinique products. It would be listed as "Ethylbisiminomethylguaiacol Manganese Chloride" on the ingredients list. It's really potent so 0.1% is more than strong enough.

I thought Coenzyme Q10 was one of the few ingredients that had some researches showing the ability to penetrate the skin and antioxidant effect on human skin. Was the research you mentioned the one done by SkinCeuticals? I gotta dig back documents on Coenzyme Q10 now to see if I remember correctly.

Great review, that green color looks great on you. I LOVE the Paula’s choice Resist Antioxidant Serum. It’s a gel texture and spreads easily on damp skin. My skin loves it!

I love that you use the NIOD pump on the Survival. I buy a bunch and use on every dropper bottle I have. They fit any standard 30ml bottle.

I take orally Astaxanthin supplement (buying it from iHerb) - during Covid times my doctor recommended it as way to strengthen organism. After that I did some reading about it and realizing how many benefits it has and started taking it. I also bought to my mom. Also my husband takes it. It is the only supplement I take orally besides D vitamin.

couldn't agree more on the Niod one. Best antioxidant ever, Been using it since years. over the summer great to use. Note that the SPF20 and 30 have more matt finish and giving more unified tone on the face and magnifying hence I prefer them over summer there are bit drying. Ofcourse SPF is not enough you need to re-apply after

I hope you suggest other Vitamin C's thst you can get in the US. The G&G shipping is still very expensive for one product and the amount for free shipping is insane.

Hi Sarah I'm currently trialling the hygee serum and yes I bought the small one - for about £6 I think on offer. I also like the cosrx cica serum - all the cica components and pinus pinaster bark in it, plus it's soothing/hydrating. Best wishes.

Hi Sarah! Do you pick one antioxidant or combine more than one when you do your morning skin routine?

Skyn iceland youth serum is also a astaxanthin based serum that's around $35 but I believe it's more concentrated because it's a brighter shade of red and it doesn't contain any dye

When I got my first bottle it was because it was basically a glutathione serum which is the strongest antioxidant. I don’t know why they took it out, but it’s disappointing. I’m thinking about using the astaxanthin serum by Skyn Iceland.

TRIPLE ACTIVE SERUM WITH HYALURONIC ACID, VITAMIN C + NIACINAMIDE, FERULIC ACID
Would like to know your thoughts, I just placed an order because ages ago they had a brightening range and I truly saw results and as this also had vitamin C, though why not 😊😊
