Great tips all over to place to do it right. My lil boy uses it quite often but gets caught with Kouchimaki time to time when he doesn't get the hands on properly.

interesting you mentioned tomoe and sumi, i was thinking how similar it looks to uki waza which is considered yoko sutemi waza while the other two rear sacrifice throws are ma sutemi waza, very interesting how one move can counter others and not just be application of moves but reacting

Nice counter. We also counter Seonage from stranding. I use a sit down Tani Otoshi to counter a drop Seonage, try it but it will hurt Tories ankles

nice counter. Excellent explanations! Does this work for no-gi aswell? I mean, the kind of underhook hand works pretty sure. But the other hand? where is it supposed to grib if there is no sleeve? Head?

It is a yoko guruma variation.

Would this be considered yoko guruma?

I guess it looks like uki waza

He does circle completely to a side sacrifice so much like uki waza

Yes, it's a yoko guruma. Since there's no lifting action, it's not daki wakare.
