Great video but why is it every video I see on TH-cam the main gripe is the inner compass bezel. This has to be very loose for a precise compass bearing. If it was stiff to turn it would be pretty useless, in my opinion, for its purpose - it can be a very useful tool when learnt how to use properly.
You’re right. These are NOS still available. Didn’t know they were from 2005. Thanks for sharing. Wow, really old model. The design cues are so different. Very dated design.
@@AndyinSG yes, a little dated but unusual and I always liked this one. There's only one retailer that carries them in the UK and they have been gradually increasing their prices as the stock goes down. Maybe a future classic?
@@S-Ltd1000 Usually they become sort of classic with prices going up slightly once it's discontinued. Take for instance the Monsters Gen2. Good condition ones can fetch up to 3x the prices when they were new. But I won't get Seikos just for flipping. Too much hassle.
This is old school stuff. Straight out of 2009-2010 era where gimmicky crowns and crown guards were the in-thing. I would remember because I was a fashion victim at that time wearing 53mm U-Boats. 😹
This channel has just been knocking em out of the park…
Thank you!
Have it since 2007 and still work perfecly ❤
Fantastic! Wear it in good health.
Please be aware that the bezel moving easily is not at all an issue and won't affect in any way its use as a tool to gain a basic compass heading.

Maybe you’re right on that. Thanks for sharing. Learn something new all the time in this hobby.
I own the SKZ209J1 . It’s an extraordinary watch and love it .
Good to know. Wear yours in good health! 👍
@@AndyinSG thank you 🙏🏻
These were released in 2005. I may be mistaken but I believe Seiko no longer make it and any for sale new now are existing stock.

Crown seems a bit too small for the size. Dial too busy for me. But the watch is quite interesting.

@@AndyinSG ah yes, I remember that time big watches were the in thing. 🤣
Isn't that the 'Land Shark' and not the 'Atlas'?
Actually you could be right. Too many nicknames on these guys, can be confusing at times.
Where can I repair it
Get a new movement and swap it in at your local watch repair shop.
Wait no hand hacking? I see it working on another video.
Maybe im missing something
The 7s26 does not hack or handwind. Good that Seiko replaced it with the 4R movements that offer both.
Amazing that it can't be hacked. So it can't be synched. So it's effectively useless for accurate time-keeping. Nice job, Seiko.
Yea man. But these 7s movements are phased out so at least we have hackable 4r movements these days.
I'm sure you aren't that important that a few seconds out matter. Or days,weeks,months..
