    As an LPN, the Jehovah's Witnesses not accepting any form of blood donation can be extremely frustrating. Will try to provide any alternative that we can, including artificial blood or the collection and storage of their own blood before having a procedure done. My best friend’s grandmother is a Jehovah’s Witness, and over the years she has started to stress more and more about how her grandmothers religion is going to effect her as she continues to grow old in age. My friend lost her dad at 13, and her mom only two years ago. So with her grandmother being really the only family she has left, she worries about something happening to her and her being in a situation where she needs blood and refuses it and it ends up costing her life. She constantly stresses about being put in a place where she loses the only person she feels like she really has left because of something like this and it’s honestly one of the saddest things ever to me when she talks about it. I know it bothers her because she’s brought it up multiple times since her mom passed away

      Don't go in there, my friend. Catholic Church has been a constant crime since its creation. Everything from rapes, money fraud, corruption, pedophilia, drugs, etc etc. Every single crime you can think of, they've done it since their beginning. But they hold so much power, that no one in leading positions cares about it.

    The description of kosher slaughter here is not quite accurate. Kosher slaughter requires the butcher to cut the major artery and major nerve both with one cut, exactly to cause as little pain as possible. The butcher's knife must also be exceptionally sharp and with no nicks or notches, for the same reason. As for the non-use of anesthesia, do secular butchers use that? I never heard so. What's more, American law requires cattle to be hoisted off the ground before slaughter to keep it from falling into its own blood, a process which in a heavy animal like a cow invariably breaks the animal's pelvis. Talk about pain.

      I agree to a point. But you have to remember that in a lot of these polygamist cults, the children are indoctrinated into believing that their way is what the god wants and any other way is wrong. And if the young girls, who are basically picked out of a lineup like they're being sold as sex slaves, decide to leave, they're excommunicated from their religion, their families and homes and they can never go back. If they turn on the leaders of the cult, they're shunned for life. So the choice is, get married or you're on your own, no ifs ands or buts. It's devastating to these young women who leave, because they have no education, no skills, and no way to support themselves. A choice like that is no choice whatsoever.

  • @nHans
    @nHans ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Dude, this video sounds prejudiced. You're calling out specific religions for practices that are carried out by many other religions as well. For example:
    *Self-injury:* In addition to the Taoists that you mentioned in the video: Shia Muslims injure themselves during Muharram; Murugan-worshiping Hindus pierce themselves for Kavadi; Sri Vaishnava Hindus brand themselves with hot irons; Catholics crucify themselves on Good Friday; ritual scarification upon coming of age in several native and indigenous tribes etc. And that's after excluding forced genital mutilations of both sexes carried out as a religious or social practice.
    *Polygamy:* Judaism, Islam, Mormonism, Jainism, Taoism etc. permit *polygyny.* Hinduism, Buddhism, and several native and indigenous religions allows both *polygyny* and *polyandry.* Among major religions, only Christianity and Sikhism insist on *monogamy.* The LDS officially doesn't support polygamy either. (I'm only talking about religious laws. Modern civil laws may be more restrictive. The United Nations has asked member-states to ban polygamy.)
    *Choosing to Die:* Not just Buddhist monks. Hindus and Jains do it too-called _mahasamadhi_ by the Hindus, and _santhara_ or _sallekhana_ by the Jains. Excluding _seppuku / hara-kiri_ as it's not a religious practice.
    Cruelty to animals? Warring against governments? Refusing modern medical treatments? Absolving sins? Celebrating bloody victories? Many religions are guilty; you can't single out just one. And who hasn't used religion to justify discriminating against, subjugating, enslaving, and even killing people who look different from you?

      Not forgetting that Gospels are eyewitness accounts written, when some of the eyewitnesses were still alive. The followers of Jesus would logically tell more about Jesus in their accounts than nonbelievers, that were hostile to early Christians and only confirmed that Jesus existed, he had followers that were called Christians and that Jesus got crucified.
      All non believers called Jesus either witch or trickster, but none of them denied His existence.
