One of the fewer scenes were nearly all details are accurate (not that I would expect that generally from a film version - the book version gives us more of an individual perception of it) - the music, the traditions, the singer (Ehsan Aman an actual popular afghan singer).... I am glad we got a representation like this.

what a terrible movie, Amir shows no signs of regret or shame during the whole movie.
i read the novel and the movie is nothing close to it.
i understand how difficult it is to get the exact same people from the book into the movie, but the choice of actors were horrible. not even one person`s features matches the ones in book. and not even one person can talk dari. seems like they read a line with no emotion. the book made me cry several times but movie, stopped watching it after 90 min bc of how horrible it was.
what a shame, the movie took everything away. people who read the book understand what i am talking about.

You're right, in novel Amir becomes insomniac we see non of it in the movie. Outstanding lack of resemblance in characters comparing to the book. Glad you pointed out the broke Farsi, I grew up in Afghanistan nobody talks like that that's way too formal specially amongst the child characters.

In Afghan Persian wedding ( this is an Afghan wedding belonging to Afghan persian speakers) the bride wears green during the religious part of the marriage which is called "Nikhah". This is when they ask the girl if she is happy and wants to marry the man she is marrying and some older men from the wedding ceremony pray in presence of a religious cleric. The bride then changes into white for the reception as the dancing and celebrations begin. In the movie the decided to show the reception as its more entertaining I guess
