Something about watching CGB play commander makes me happy. Every single toy at his disposal and just outright savagery. Our boy was MADE for this format.
On the topic of aggro in this format, I've got a Samut deck (the naya creature, not the gruul planeswalker) that I've been having a lot of fun with and winning more often than not. It's got a number of the exert creatures from Amonkhet, the idea being that you use Samut to untap them so you can just keep exerting them every turn. That doesn't actually come up that often though, what happens most often is you just crash in with some of the biggest, scariest creatures in the format. Just today I won again a Jodha deck when I attacked with my Etali and hit his Kiora Bests the Sea God and my Ulamog, Etali's ability casts the spells he hits, so I even got the Ulamog trigger and was able to exile two of his mana sources, which is all he had because I ramped on turn one and two so this was all happening on turn four. Another game I just kept untapping Glorybringer and that was enough to get the opponent to concede after a couple turns. As CGB has said ramp is king in this format, similar to commander, so green just smooths out so many games, so a boros deck like Winota has a much harder time than a naya deck like Samut, whose flash and haste granting just makes your deck get super lethal right out of nowhere.
I was sceptical about the Brawl matchmaking algorithm, but after seeing what you were playing and what you got matched up against, maybe it's not so bad. If I had to deal with those commanders with my Kaalia or Nethroi decks, I just wouldn't play the format.
My second favourite memory of mtg from my early days on mtg arena, opponent about to win the game I'm playing a janky Temur Elementals, I have a couple of creatures, but they have like 3 times as many, they say GG, I have a bunch of land along with nissa, whom shakes the world (tons of mana available), I play Mass Manipulation, and steal all of their creatures, respond with GG, and win.
missed opportunity to call Baral The Chief for the intro haha seems like a legit nickname...i thought Baral was banned in Brawl long ago, guess it must of just heard the new from MTGO and just assumed it was cross platforms, surprised i havent seen him in a match until this historic brawl event. Im kinda for this format of everything un banned instead of such a robust ban list. Uro, Oko, Omnath, Baral, sheeeeshh 5 color control is so busted. Been loving the videos across different formats. I wonder if CGB ever plays limited in his free time, i would be interested to see him evaluate packs, making picks, and building a powered down deck. In any case the standard mythic ladder grind is what i fell in love with, and will always have a special place in my heart, hope the channel continues to get new subs and grows exponentially, if any one deserves to see success its CGB, what an incredible feat and display of hard work, creativity, and determination....new video everyday for almost 1000 days is no joke. amiright??
When I suggested playing Baral during the Omnath stream you said you wanted to play Magic, but I'm glad you cahnged your mind and gave us your take on it. Also i know this is the dark side of Brawl but if have Golos/Omnath/Kinnan as a commander, then Baral is only justice
Blue needs a proficiency in the game to "get" a lot of the time and it can feel unfair or annoying even to veterans, but it sure is the spiciest colour
My entire EDH group disbanded and all stopped playing paper because I used a mono blue deck. I won virtually every single game and everyone got tired of playing a match for 3-4 hours just to inevitably lose. 🤣

I love Baral. I play a Mono Blue Tempo Control with 2x Baral and 2x Barals Expertise in Historic Ranked ( Mythic ~ 95% ) Stomps Elves and Goblins about 65% of the time according to MTG Assistant. This Deck has the extra Wincon of the enemy scooping as well.
I built my own about 3 days ago after pulling him in a pack I randomly opened. Two-thirds of my games are conceded before we even drop the first land. Very powerful.

Nothing like watching an Omnath player, commanding one of the most broken cards to ever get printed, give the salty ropes once the tide turns because they feel it's unfair. Most Arena players are simply children.
I always find it funny, with 100 cards no one comes up with cool and insane decks that no one ever seen. It's all net decks and locals decks. I love playing my pirates and just controlling everything.
These types of decks are the main reason why I watch this channel! I like to see these extremely rude decks, and tell myself I'm a good person for not liking that play style 🤣🤣

Baral is an absolutely brilliant commander, but Mizzix holds a special place in my heart as the most obnoxiously brutal counterspell deck I have ever played.
When i first started playing commander. I went to this group with like 12 or so people from my work. This one guy came my second or third time with a very similar deck. Not finishing this video I know how it ends.
Imagine playing 4c omnath with out bonders enclave. Also one of my friends brought baral to the table and I was playing Kenny. He countered all my creatures to watch them eventually rise from my grave. Also had containment Priest out to reanimate the muldrotha players spore frog into oblivion! Can we get a Kenny video?
I was temporarily looking forward to seeing what you'd do with the FNM event this week, but it turns out it's a bunch of turn one wins, so probably not.
I’m surprised you saw that they only give you 24 lands in a commander deck that should be running 38/40 lands for a deck to work right. I hope they fix that if they keep this format. They show you with only 24 lands they are rigging the games.
can you do friendly matches of 100 historic brawl? or is it only playable in this specific event? If anyone knows please let me know, because if I can play this format with my friends then I might just get back into Mtga
It'll definitly be available while the event is up, not sure if it'll stay after that. Doubt it tho. You can always play 60 cards historic brawl (~ friendly brawl) instead, but the format is a bit different

Biggest downside of Mtgo is doesn't have the need/ability to know what cards are during shuffle so it can stack it and rig the game like mtga. Ohh wait is that a downside?
