Wrote out pattern for myself! Am a beginner so just wrote it out in way easy to understand for myself. Might be helpful for others.
    - Magic circle
    - Round 1 = 12 dc, tighten magic circle
    - Round 2 = Slip stitch into first stitch, 2ch, in same stitch 2dc, then 2dc for whole round (24 in total)
    - Round 3 = Slip stitch into first stitch, 2ch, 1dc into same stitch, in next stitch 2dc, 1dc in next stitch, 2dc in next stitch (so increase per 2nd stitch, repeat for whole round, 36 total)
    - Round 4 = Slip stitch into first stitch, 2ch, 2dc then increase on 3rd stitch (48 total)
    - Round 5 = Slip stitch into first stitch, 3dc then increase on 4th stitch (60 stitches)
    - Round 6 = 4dc then increase on 5th (72)
    - Round 7 = 5dc then increase on 6th (84)
    - Round 8 = 6dc then increase on 7th (96)
    - Round 9 = 7dc then increase on 8th (108) = you can continue after this, in video she stopped at 8.5 inches
    - Round 10 = Slip stitch into first stitch, 5ch, from that stitch, skip 2 stitches and single crochet into 3rd stitch (insert, yo, pull through, yo, pull through 2 loops), 5ch, from that stitch skip next two stitches and single crochet into 3rd stitch, repeat. At the end you make 5ch and there are still two empty stitches in between
    - Round 11= At the end of the 5ch make a single crochet into the first loop of round 10, 5ch, in next loop make single crochet, 5ch, repeat for round
    - Repeat this for as many rounds as you want (she did total of 27 rounds so round 12-35)
    - Round 36: Sc into loop (like before), in same loop place one more sc, in the sc between the two rows (the one that connects this loop and the next loop) place a sc, sc into the stitch between the loops, repeat for the round (total 108 stitches)
    - Round 37: Slip stitch into first stitch, 1 chain, single crochet into the same stitch, then single crochet all stitches for the round
    - Round 38-41 = Repeat round 37
    - End = Cut yarn, use yarn needle, insert thread into first stitch, insert into top of previous stitch, weave in tail
    Handle
    - Choose any stitch, place another stitch marker at 54 stitches (half), place 2 markers 15 stitches from 0 and 54
    - Round 1 = insert yarn and tie knot, pull through and chain 80, insert chain into next marker, single crochet, slip stitch into next stitch, 1 chain, turn, in same stitch single crochet
    - Round 2 = single crochet along chain (inserting into back of chain), at the end of round 1 single crochet into first stitch where knot it , slip stitch into next stitch, chain 1 and turn, single crochet into same stitch
    - Round 3 = single crochet along the row
    - Continue for as many rows as you want
    - End = Single crochet into last stitch, on next stitch single crochet, slip stitch into next stitch, 1 chain, use needle to put yarn in

@@JellyjoJelly it took less than one skein to make, like one of the big ones (355 yds). i would also suggest cotton instead of acrylic. i also used a 4 weight yarn with a 4.5 mm hook (my personal favorite)

wonderful tutorial!! For anyone wondering how much yarn I used , I used 3 small skeins of 100% gauge 4 cotton warn- 360 yards/7.5 oz with the appropriate hook size. I did make my bag a tad bit taller (a couple more rounds of the mesh body portion) and added for a total of 7 rounds at the top band. I'll definitely be making this project again, but with homemade plarn the next go around! Great beginner project and a now wonderful everyday bag!

Nice little pattern but I did change up things a bit.
Since I have been doing cotton dishcloths/vase bottoms in a round pattern with half double crochet I did the bottom with those using a 5.5mm hook. Worked up to row nine. Eighteen rows the mesh, need shorter bags. Two rows of single crochet for the top edging, then two rows of decreases, I like the tops of my bags to narrow.
I do plan on different handles because of my shoulder problems. I am also going to figure out an edging on the outside of the bag around the last circular bottom.
When this tutorial popped up I thought this is perfect for all the leftover bits, different sizes, of cotton from my dishcloths I gathered the leftovers and just grabbed them, worked each end grabbing another and working till the bag was 5he size I wanted.
I now have a very colorful bag. Thanks for the inspiration of what to use my leftovers for. I will have more and save them for other bags.
To those who might think of a scrap yarn bag, beware all the extra strings to hide. I do not try to hide as I go.
    Thanks again,

I’m a novice and this was very easy to follow. Unfortunately, I didn’t use the suggested cotton yarn (used an acrylic nylon blend) and learned my lesson. The bag had too much give and when I tried to use it it stretched to the floor and hit my ankles! 😂😂😂 I just ordered a cotton yarn and will do it again.

One question though: why cut & tie off when you finish the bag part? Why not just start the handle from that last stitch? 🤔

This is so easy to follow-and I don’t really crochet! The base and the netting were exactly what I needed to make hanging sacks for the ripening cantaloupes vining up my fence. I used a heavier cotton (Sugar and Spice), single strand, and arbitrarily stopped at the netting so I could thread some other string through the loops and attach to the fence. Thank you! By the way, your magic loop is really cool!

Just made this bag for a friend’s bridal shower! She’s a farmers market girlie. I did the base, rim, and handles in a neutral-pink (pumpkin pie pound of love yarn), and the netting in an off white color (also pound of love yarn). My yarn was slightly bigger, so I just adjusted the stitch and chain counts to match what I wanted. It looks so cute and is very easy.

Thank you so much! This was my first "big" project and it came out beautiful, I even surface crocheted a different color into the border. The only thing is I wish I did less rows of the chain 5, as it droops alot when it's filled. Other than that it's great

Thanks for posting! I was almost finished with this project (and feeling like the bag was a bit big for me) when I read your comment. Realized I did want mine to be smaller. Frogged about 1/3 of the chain netting rows. I think I'll be much happier with this size. Worth the re-do, for me. Thanks again!

Just finished this…sort of. I have a horrible memory so I ended up making 9 increase rows on the bottom instead of 7. Then I followed the pattern for 3 rows, got bored and started to do my own thing. Ended up utilizing the top as it is in this pattern and made the handles the same way as well. Turned out wonderful! I’ll be making my bestie a bag following this pattern correctly next. Thanks for this video!

Thanks for this tutorial, I started mine 1.5 days ago using Bernat handcrafter cotton yarn gauge #4 , size 5mm hook. It's a fun and easy project to do. I'm now doing the handles and I'm so excited to finish this bag so I can start using it. We don't use plastic bags like many others out there ,this will be a nice addition to our reusable bags. I'll be making more to gift to family and friends. Thanks again for sharing 😊
