It was a little flimsier than I expected. I had to add a 2x2 piece of wood to the bottom on the rear side in order to stabilize it better th-cam.com/users/postUgkxXTh-lz-8W6GcB219vTLp27-MxbZYObBX . It is also starting to bow a little at the outer wall ( I've had it up for about 6 months), I've already had a shelf tumble down because of the bow and the fact that the little shelf brackets are quite short. I went out to home depot and got some longer ones so that the shelves don't tumble down again. Overall, it looks very nice for the price and it holds a lot ( I use it as a pantry). I am very satisfied with my purchase. I just strongly suggest reinforcing it before putting it up.

Thank you for this. I have a huge cabinet that needs to have the shelves converted to pull outs. So happy to see this is an option. I've been fighting with this cabinet to find anything for years! so many things don't get used because they're hidden in the back.

Love it! I'm imagining a pullout organizer for my wife's hairdryer and curler that could fit inside our bathroom cabinets using some metal "cup" inserts to receive the hot items and an integrated power strip. Seen this done? The trouble is we have only door cabinets with the center stile.

Thanks for the education. I just found six large slide out draws with high end hardware.
Went to Habitat for Humanity Store....each draw was $2.50 each...what a find.
Very happy on how they came out ...hardware even has a automatic pull in slide.
No more having to bend down and dig while making a mess.....GREAT JOB !!

The tip is pretty cool and definitely doing this. Easier to install the cab member first, with drawer member inside already. Then pull out drawer member partially to attach the drawer; less margin of error. Also, on the drawer slides, those little tabs along the outside can be used for easy width adjustments. I myself learned the hard way lol. Great vid and your eyes are to die for :)

Not everybody has a table saw, router table, or pocket hole jig.
Your joining method of wood glue and staples are plenty strong enough for this little drawer and should last for a very long time, especially since you didn't use MDF material as well.
    Keep up the great work.

This is a great addition to any cabinet. My wife is disabled and can't stoop down to find out what is in the back of the cabinet, so I added these types of rolling shelves to the cabinets when I built her kitchen. Now she just pulls out the drawer and can see everything without wondering what is at the back that she can't see.
Just found your channel and I can tell I am going to enjoy looking through your projects and techniques.

Recently I converted our whole pantry (cupboard style) into pull-out trays. Each side had 3 shelves, plus the bottom. So 4 levels. With the trays, I was able to increase it to 5 levels, because I could make 1 or 2 levels very shallow to hold small things like cans or small items. That won't work on regular shelves, but for pull-outs it's perfect, because you can open it to get the small things at the back.

I am surprised you didn't put a drawer slide on the bottom of the cabinet to hold your pots and misc. I am not into carpentry I am into quilting and I must say you did a fantastic job. I had to hire a local cabinet company to install my drawer pullouts two per cabinet. The reason for the bottom cabinet slide out was because I had to have a total knee joint and knee cap replacement from a bad fall and therefore I am unable to get down on my knees to fetch items from the back of the lower shelf. It allows me to utilize all of my lower cabinets with ease and I am thankful for these slide outs for sure...you are a very gifted lady and did a beautiful job.

Look up her basic tool-use tutorials during which she describes how she and hubby were building their own home and she didn't feel comfortable enough with the power tools to use them so was only fetching and carrying so to speak until he convinced her to use the circular saw to trim a board so he wouldn't have to climb down and back up to the rafters for one small cut. She gained confidence from there on to become the inspiration for other small, inexperienced DIYers like myself!

Hi, Ana. I love this idea. It'll make for much more organized storage. I don't think you took into account the finish on your shelf/ drawer bottom, though. It'll prevent the glue from bonding to the bottom. Staples may be enough to hold it, or you could scrape/ sand off the finish before applying the glue. Thanks for the video.

Could’ve also cut the plywood spacers (slides are attached to), the height equal to the spacing of the holes for the pins used the shelves. Place the plywood (slides) with pins under and pins above. That way you could just have the shelves sitting in there and could raise or lower them when required. They wouldn’t go anywhere as they’d be held up by the pins top and bottom. Great tips. 🇨🇦👍🏼

Several years ago I did this for the lower shelves of my Mother-in-Law's pantry. What a difference. When she emptied the shelves she found six cake mixes on the bottom because they kept getting pushed to the back out of both sight and reach. I built my own kitchen and there isn't a single fixed shelf in any of the lower cabinets. Even the very bottoms are pull-outs.

Cabinet drawer conversions are exceptional, Ana. Cabinets with pull drawers are sold all over the place these days )7 years after this vid. You showed us how to make them as good/better, and significantly less expensive. Winners, winners, chicken 🐓 dinners!

I added pullouts to our kitchen a total of 14, 2 per cabinet. I wish I had used shelf pins for level what a great idea!!! Also your hair is fine some aways need to find fault. I even cook on a gas stove with my hair down .

Hi Ana! I love your idea for full use of space in lower cabinets. I might just mention that one shouldn't let the tape measure retract uncontrolled and let the hook at the end smack the housing. Over time letting that happen can make your reading not true when exact measurement is important. The hook is made to be a little loose, but repeated whacks will change the attachment. I hold my index finger under the tape as it retracts and it stops the hook before the whack. 😉

One option would be to create a rack on the inside of the cabinet door to store all your oot lids. That makes them very easy to get to and frees up space in one of the drawers.
