Evolution - Six Flags Great Adventure - 1999

This is one of the three Nauta Bussink Evolution rides ever built. Max Eberhard ran the ride at German Fairs starting in 1992.The Evolution was sold to Mirabilandia Park in Italy where it ran a number of years. Vekoma brokered the deal to send the sixteen forty foot containers to Six Flags Great Adventure as part of a major ride expansion in 1999. This ride was frequently not operating at Great Adventure and as a result it was sold to Six Flags St Louis where it was rethemed as Xcalibur and some mechanical and electrical updates resulted in a more reliable attraction.
This video is one of the few times I was able to ride and catch the Evolution in action at Great Adventure. Other than that we used to call it "the worlds largest lawn ornament".
