I played this game on release. The biggest issue it had was bugs. Gamers expect PS studio games to be polished on release and this was not. Once the bugs got resolved it was a great experience.

It would make a great movie even. Every aspect was awesome even the soundtrack..... this game is truly EPIC. I don't get tired of starting over. And the syphon filter rifle in ng+ on realistic makes it a whole new experience

I played Days Gone on ps4 and did not like it. Then I played it again on Ps5, and loved every bit of it. I platinumed it and still think about it's emotional story till this day. The most underrated game in the history of the world.
This game is unbelievable and unbeatable. Super story line, very realistic graphics. Each mission is super exciting. Background score is of the next level especially during hordes. Kudos to the developers 😊😊😊
Got a PS5 because I missed out on PS4 exclusives (I had an xbox one) and played basically all the big PS4 exclusives by now and this is my fav... tragedy they arent doing a sequel as the game and some of the systems in the game had so much potential

For about 10 years zombie stuff owned a large part of entertainment. People got burnt out, plus towards the release of days gone. Walking dead had 2 of their worst seasons. For a show that a lot of people loved talked about and were obsessed over. Days gone was delayed at least once. It was announced in 2016 peak zombie craze give or take. Delayed in 2018 not released till 2019. Such a shame too because the zombies in days gone. We’re more of a problem on the side. They were there and a problem. But mostly just to set the tone. Most of the game you’re dealing with human enemies. 🤷♂️ oh well a hidden gem for those that played it. At least they didn’t get a chance to make it worse with a sequel.

Days Gone is a underrated gem, such a fun game, the story was surprisingly deep, Deacon was a really well defined, likable character, the gameplay, riding around on your motorcycle, the horde mechanics, one of my personal favorite open world games of the last console generation.

Recently kill counted it and having never bothered with it before, I was absolutely blown away with the story, setting and especially how they set you up to take on the hordes… I’ve never had such sweaty palms since Alien Isolation… but this was action packed edge of my seat stuff! Excellent 10/10 for me.

Fighting hordes is awesome. You get such an adrenaline rush… and the weapon / skill progression is great. You actually feel deacon get stronger as you get more guns and unlock more skills

After completing all the trophies and 100% finishing the game, I can now give my honest opinions on it. Overall I'd probably give this game about a 8/10 or 7.5/10. While the story isn't nothing new, it was executed well for the most part (besides some small things that didn't make sense or could've played out way better). The game play aspect was intriguing, the zombie hordes were pretty unique and fun to take down. The crafting mechanic kept you on your toes, as well as the wildlife you encountered. The way you moved around the map was pretty unique with the whole gas mechanic, though annoying at times. I don't know if anyone experienced the amount of glitches I got playing this game but it was pretty annoying. Many times I had to quit out or load game from a different time I saved, considering I got this game 4 years later this shouldn't be happening. All in all while I don't think the game is masterpiece ( like all the comments below mine lol), I don't think it deserves the amount of hate it got. There have many games that don't do as much as Days Gone does but get way better feedback. The game was 100 percent worth the 30 dollars I spend on it, hopefully we get a sequel in the foreseeable future.
The bugs on release my man, that's why it did not get the recognition it could have. All devs should learn that you need to have a polished experience even if it impacts what features you ship with.
As an xboxer, I’ve been picking up these Sony games for my steam deck that I missed out on. Picked it up for cheap thinking it’d be a fun little game. I’m deep into the story now and man does it just keep getting better. A fantastic game.
Xbox guy as well but recently bit the bullet and added a PS5 to the house....The Last Of Us was one of the first titles I bought and I loved every minute of it so look out for that one when its released on PC.
Investigating the bunker in the ambush camp is the way to complete that, otherwise it’ll all just respawn. I know you kind of had to retreat but still you didn’t have to leave entirely. The same goes for the horde you were fighting, they’ll all just respawn unless you finish off every one of them.
I admittedly didn’t enjoy it when it first came out on PS4 and stopped playing after an hour. Not sure why but then I played it on the ps5 and I know it wasn’t upgraded but I really really enjoyed it. Most underrated game ever.

Investigating the bunker in the ambush camp is the way to complete that, otherwise it’ll all just respawn. I know you kind of had to retreat but still you didn’t have to leave entirely. The same goes for the horde you were fighting, they’ll all just respawn unless you finish off every one of them.
We need a fucking sequel…that o’brian scene really ends the story cliffhanging…
I must agree this game is so underrated it's just incredible.
I admittedly didn’t enjoy it when it first came out on PS4 and stopped playing after an hour. Not sure why but then I played it on the ps5 and I know it wasn’t upgraded but I really really enjoyed it. Most underrated game ever.

Look, I really liked this game, but it 100% deserved the bad reviews. Days Gone was an absolute shitshow at launch and the following months because of all the game-breaking bugs.
