- Hurricane Ida is expected to make landfall in Louisiana Sunday as a Category 4 Hurricane, bringing deadly weather conditions as it crosses over Southern Louisiana.
Preparations have begun across the state as parish officials and residents scramble to get ready ahead of the storm.

Thank goodness Louisiana all across the South have made better provisions and precautions for hurricane season after Katrina. They survived worst storms, the south is resilient

Why did they name it IDA? 2009 Hurricane was named IDA too? We will see if this not a Katrina?
NOAA reuses hurricane names, with every list being repeated for every six years. If a storm becomes a major hurricane then the name is retired.

Nobody talks about poor Mississippi. They were destroyed by Katrina. New Orleans only had flooding because the pumps couldn’t keep up

But the ppl of MS got up n started helping one another n then folks that were safer got down there n started helping!! They were staging in safe zones sitting on ready!! The thing about Mississippi is that the people there didn't do the victim thing and wait for someone else to come in and clean it up. The people of Mississippi dusted themselves off and set to work cleaning up the carnage and helping each other. I've always viewed Mississippi with a much higher regard than LA, because of this.

If I were in the path of this thing, I would secure my valuables in a place where they would be safe when my house blew away or was damaged beyond repair. I would be digging a hole about four feet deep at the base of a big tree or under a slab. Money and valuables must be secured. Don't just leave them in the house. If the water buries your house, it will also wash your valuables out the doors and windows. Your attic may not be safe if your roof is gone. Your car may be gone too, so that is not safe to secure your belongings. If you bury stuff make sure it's wrapped in plastic and secured well. Go deep enough as much topsoil will be lost.

(1). Get an axe or something n set up in your attic in case you have to resort to your attic n no way out to cut through
,(2) don't forget after Katrina they made a law that motels, hotels etc have to let you bring your pet during evacuations.
