The latest Infrared satellite imagery shows Ida is really winding up with a well defined eye and concentrated central core. I would not be surprised if the 2:00 a.m. update conservatively has Ida's sustained winds at 120 mph at 956 mb. The wind field has expanded significantly as well.

In fact, anywhere I've done damage to myself - did a little gymnastics & trampoline when I was young & stupid - begins to ache & throb. I live 300 miles from the coast, but I've been through Hurricane Frederick in 1979 when I was living in a dorm at Jacksonville State; Katrina, which I never want to go through again; & Ivan. We lost power with Katrina & Ivan - we live in the sticks, & there are a lot of trees. The wind blew all night, & each time, I thought the wind was going to blow the roof off. I hope the people of Louisiana heed the warnings this time & evacuate. Please don't make the rescuers' jobs any harder. I also hope they'll have free bus rides for people who can't afford to drive or who don't have a car. They should also evacuate the nursing homes...PLEASE...let's not have another tragedy like Katrina. Lastly, we'll be seeing more & more of these violent storms until we start reversing climate change - if it's not too late already.
I am so sorry for all of you there I survived Michael and I have PTSD upon occasion still it’s a nightmare for sure but God will see you through trust in Jesus ,rely on Him and help other people as much as you can
Reed If you have to hunker down, try the Marriott in Gulfport Mississippi. It survived Katrina- 28 foot storm surge. Get at least to the third floor. Good luck.
