Everyone notes on his listening skills. But the thing that impresses me the most about Adam Driver is his speaking. His delivery is at such a constant pace, with very little pauses that show him processing the rest of his thought. They just stream together like flowing water. That in and of itself isn't the impressive part. He is very talented in viewing what he is saying, as he is saying it, from and empathic point of view. He pauses only to "couch" the possible ambiguity, and then continues his flowing stream of thought. That is the mind and spirit of a man that is centered and open.

They have great chemistry on screen and I get this feeling that they both really respect each other as actors and castmates, so I think it would be interesting to see them speaking to one another like this, just as friends
Can't tell if I'm more attracted to Adam Driver or Charlize Theron 😍 Love these interviews where actors interview each other and there's no fake host always rushing. We get to hear them really talk about their work.
Omg... We're on the same page, lol. I don't consider myself bi, but i was totally gay for Angelina Jolie in the early 2000s. She made me question my sexuality, because she eas soooooo MMMmmm. And the only other woman to make me feel that was is Charlize. Present, past and probably future, lol. And Adam looks like he is really hung. That height, that nose, thr bone structure and muscle tone. I just know whats going on downstairs 😉
@@safiiiyyyaaa Also, that casual, CONFIDENT, coolness. He is so laid back like hes not trying to impress anybody. Like he knows something we don't know. Comfortable in his own skin... Yep... Big 🍆
Being a muscular marine you would think Adam would play action roles. But he is so good at being a neurotic intellectual type... Let's combine the two and have him be a nervous commando. Instead of dropping catch phrases, he'll just stammer and dry heave whenever he stabs a bad guy with a survival knife.
I love this between them. She's talking about herself and Adam just patiently listens. Adam is like the therapist and Charlize Theron is the patient of course. It's so nice to just see two people talking and having a conversation without phones being a distraction. They're both actors so they can relate to each other a lot. We need more of this.
What a great, in-depth conversation. Loved when Charlize talks about relating to characters who are deeply flawed yet very human in that regard, and Adam's point that being an actor forces you to be empathetic in ways other jobs do not. Such talent and intellect.
These two actors show real decency and sincerity, giving each other lots of space to talk and lots of support in what each is trying to say. It's great to see, in contrast with high ego celebrities fighting to get attention.
I feel as if I've learned so much here from both Charlize & Adam; they are in a class all their own. They are fully invested in what the other is saying. The praise and line of questioning doesn't feel fake, nor is it rushed. I'm ready for a part II please...
I love that Adam wasn't all that interested in how long the application took in the makeup chair but rather on "figuring out what was too much". The creative process can be so all-engrossing that one might lose focus on the bigger picture or lose the plot. It's such an interesting question. I also really liked how Charlize talked about women as unique individuals and not some singular hive mind in their shared experience of the same environment or event. "We don't always do good things for the right reasons." Such a good quote. Charlize's transformation into Megyn Kelly is one of the best I've seen. She really nailed the voice in particular. So cool that Bombshell had the same prosthetics artist as Gary Oldman in Darkest Hour, Kazuhiro Tsuji. He also worked with Nicole Kidman on Hemingway & Gellhorn.
Joe McKim I guess. She's always kept her hair short or short-ish. I mean mostly not always. Maybe she prefers it that way more. She can pull anything off tho.
marriage story was such a wonderful, emotional ride. the ten-minute argument scene was amazing, as was the scene where scarlett's character is talking to her lawyer in her office. as adam says, the film was a lot like theater.
Remy Azhary Yosef I agree. He is very intense and unwavering in his responses. Both in listening when she replies to his questions as well as answering hers. He does not appear to worry about being a yes man or trying to make the other person feel comfortable necessarily. He’s very poker faced, doesn’t give away many clues with his physicality at all. I think less confident individuals would be intimidated with or by him. Seems to have a solid sense of who he is and doesn’t really give a crap about people feeling warm and fuzzy about him.
Maybe it was the set up / situation he was in? He comes across way more relaxed in his interview with the SAG-AFTRA Foundation, but I think it's because there it feels like he's talking to peers, whereas here... I don't know. Hard to put into words (and I am not a native speaker)
She is super comfortable in her skin as an actor and it shows in the way she opened up! He is still cautious about what he is letting us have... loved this!
Adam Driver is from Mishawaka, Indiana which is literally ten feet from where I grew up (South Bend) and I cannot feel more proud about him being from this area. He absolutely steals every scene he is in, no matter if it’s Star Wars or Girls or Marriage Story. Truly one of best up and coming actors in the world
FINALLY! It seems you saved this interview for last. I've been waiting for it. I love seeing Charlize talk. She's so insightful and analytical. So self reflective. I can't wait to see #Bombshell !!!!!
2 faves right here!!!! Charlize is a Goddess, so cool and SUCH a brilliant actor. Adam is reaching the DeNiro level of great acting. I truly hope Tarantino involves him in his final film.
Maybe Adam can play a corrupted version of Neo and the movie turns into a brawl reminiscent of the Jack/Evil Jack fight in Samurai Jack. I'd watch the sh** out of that.
With the short hair she becomes such an intimidating beautiful smart sharp looking lady. When she has longer hair, she just seems less intimidating... oh the power of hair.
Being loved or hated in a character is part of the reward to be admire and loved, and as you do it, it will take time to remember that it is a character we hated for around two hours or perhap we take with us the gifts presented there, and in life we love sometimes and we hate sometimes, but what makes us better humans is to forgive, forget and love again. Great talk!!! Great actors
Charlize is a godess. Just a beautiful and great man like him can face that kind of greatness and stand ground. She is a lioness, she leads, she rules. And he goes with it, being younger without being diminished. Love them both.
Gosh I love how Adam is just truly listening to Charlize! Look at his intense gaze. Damn! I hope they have a movie together now 😍 This interview is so serious and professional and I learned a lot from two pros. Love how Marriage Story is treated like theater and have those long takes.
he seems like a really good listener, patient and thoughtful while giving a lot of consideration to his own answers as well. in a lot of these interviews, it can feel like they've just thrown two random actors in a room together, but with adam and charlize you can tell that these are two pros who really enjoy their craft and learning from other people.
I love this series, you can actually see the moment they both become comfortable with each other in conversation. Been binging this over the past few days fantastic!!
Charlize is so talented and different. Very unique.. ♥️ Not the average cookie cut blonde. She never acts dumb. Never plays up to that stereotype. There is something tough/strong behind the eyes..
Interesting....I also had my lifelong partner say he was afraid I was going to die from cancer because I smoke....and therefore distanced himself from me..told our daughter, don't get too attached to mummy, she's going to die soon. So...that's a real thing that his character touched on. Not a bad person but a real person who exists in many people's lives. Thank you Adam Driver and Scarlett Johansson for making this film. Bless you both!
She says actors are "walking insecurities". He does not seem like that at all. Adam seems so secure, which is, of course, expressed in a calm, easy manner.

They have great chemistry on screen and I get this feeling that they both really respect each other as actors and castmates, so I think it would be interesting to see them speaking to one another like this, just as friends
Why did they avoid putting them together
Can't tell if I'm more attracted to Adam Driver or Charlize Theron 😍
Love these interviews where actors interview each other and there's no fake host always rushing.
@@Boobalopbop LoL he probably is 😋😂
@@safiiiyyyaaa Also, that casual, CONFIDENT, coolness. He is so laid back like hes not trying to impress anybody. Like he knows something we don't know. Comfortable in his own skin... Yep... Big 🍆
@@Boobalopbop yass girl! But then he be acting all shy when he gets compliments. Makes me love him even more 😍
Agreed.
I can see the Marine in Driver.
Amarr P. It’s in the way he approaches acting as a discipline
She's utterly brilliant. So thoughtful, self-reflecting, interested. Just amazing,
Being a muscular marine you would think Adam would play action roles.
After watching a Marriage Story, I admire Adam Driver as an actor. He's sooooo good!!!! 💯
Revanchist he’s in Blackkklansman too I recommend that movie. It’s super good. That’s the first movie I seen Adam star in.
Ol
What a great, in-depth conversation. Loved when Charlize talks about relating to characters who are deeply flawed yet very human in that regard, and Adam's point that being an actor forces you to be empathetic in ways other jobs do not. Such talent and intellect.
adam is like "my father is Keanu reeves and you have been with him with couple of times. so, how was it?? it must be so fun."
Rhany Anugrahaeni DUDE!!! Keanu and Adam should have a movie! 😍
Really
All of that BUT! with the kylo ren mask sound
yassss, adam in some part of his face looks like keanu reeves! keanu can cast adam to be his son 💁🏻♀️
@Sterman99 But much less charismatic, lol.
Omg Adam driver! My fav
He watches and listens so intently. Ugh, I love him.😍😩
Me too girl, me too😢❤
He’s just “ acting” like he’s listening intently...he’s very good isn’t he?😂
This interview: LEGS LEGS LEGS LEGS LEGS
They are so very tall and gorgeous
Kitty Hello they really are, I wish he’d show them off more often. Maybe wear some shorts next time?
Yes
I know.... right!! I kept looking at them. Lol..
Jullyo Lima watch his movie, Tracks. he wears shorts and his legs are incredible 😂
@@KashXz Was hoping for a polarizing comment to clash in, but love how defusing this comment was. We need more people like you in the comments.
This is the interview I never knew I needed.
"if it's bad writing.."
"that's when actors act." LMAO
Joker itself is a fine example.
eggsywafflex the writing in joker isn‘t bad, but it‘s defenitly very dependant on the acting.
@@Jjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjj630 it's very flat and illogical. If it weren't for Joaquin Phoenix, the movie would have been bad.
Adam Driver might win the Oscar for Marriage Story
Lmfao Right. 👏
Not against Phoenix.
As much as I love to,
but Joaquin will definitely have it
I wanna hear another joke Murrray !
He'll get what he fucking deserves!
("Hello, World!")
The prosthetic is spot on. She looks exactly like Megan Kelly. Charlize is so well spoken and analytical. Love this interview.
I assume the reason she has her hair so short is they don't have as much to cover up when they put on the Megyn wig.
Yes as well spoken and analytical as she was when she said her three year old son told her he was a girl.
Joe McKim I guess. She's always kept her hair short or short-ish. I mean mostly not always. Maybe she prefers it that way more. She can pull anything off tho.
When I first saw a trailer of this I thought it actually was megan.
See Christian Bale in Vice last year?
The Bombshell makeup team might win that award at Oscars in February.
"Everyone knows who Megyn Kelly is."
Me Googling: who is Megan Kelly?
Jessica Crystal I had no idea! But I’m not American so that might be why..
I came here to post this 😂 I didn’t know her by name but as soon as I saw her pic I remembered. So funny.
Yeah you guys are the kind of people that think trumps racist aswell learn some politics dummy’s
Uncle Chael because we didn’t know who Megyn Kelly is? You’re a moron.
kung Few yea as soon as I saw her I knew who she was.
marriage story was such a wonderful, emotional ride. the ten-minute argument scene was amazing, as was the scene where scarlett's character is talking to her lawyer in her office. as adam says, the film was a lot like theater.
Is it just me or does watching Adam Driver kinda intense. Maybe his stare and voice.
He was in Marines before he went to Juilliard.
He's a scorpio.
Maybe it was the set up / situation he was in? He comes across way more relaxed in his interview with the SAG-AFTRA Foundation, but I think it's because there it feels like he's talking to peers, whereas here... I don't know. Hard to put into words (and I am not a native speaker)
Christian bale and Joaquin Phoenix it was someone else’s suggestion but it’s a good one
I WANT JOAQUIN PLEASE HAHAHA
HAH. Joaquin Phoenix hates interviews and the like. He would never be caught dead on this show. Not that I would be unhappy if he did appear on it...
obiwantchocolate fair point haha
EpicHysteria yeah can’t blame him but this style of interview is different
bongo Yo! I care about Joaquin eversince Inventing the Abbotts which HBO always shows when I was a kid!
I have the biggest man crush rn for Adam Driver, every movie he is in melts me!
Ur weird
He's such an amazing actor! Even in Star Wars he kills it. I will watch anything these 2 amazing actor's do period.
@@jeffescanto no he's not weird. i'm the same with charlize
💪💪💪
@Fuzzy McBabyHead and what about it?
Adam Driver is literally the best ever!
i love how Charlize talks clearly and honestly. she is a true professional. adam is a great interviewer and the make this conversation work
His shoes are 1000% more comfortable than hers.
Only a man would think that.
("Hello, World!")
She is super comfortable in her skin as an actor and it shows in the way she opened up! He is still cautious about what he is letting us have... loved this!
Easily one of the best Actors on Actors.
I love how much it emphasized everyone reinforcing each others' talents to make a great story. Thank you for the interview!
2 faves right here!!!! Charlize is a Goddess, so cool and SUCH a brilliant actor. Adam is reaching the DeNiro level of great acting. I truly hope Tarantino involves him in his final film.
Boobalopbop THIS
Would be a fantastic pairing, QT and Adam. Especially given Adam Driver has worked with nearly every living "auteur" filmmaker out there
Omg hush, I have not accepted Tarantino not doing movies anymore. 😭
Whoa whoa whoa approaching De Niro levels??
Tarantino one of my favorite director, Adam my crush and favorite actor
Adam is my ideal type. He is mesmerizing, actor wise and person wise
two of my all time favorites, I haven't enjoyed an interview like this for a long time
and
LEGS FOR DAYS, lol.
Can Adam Join the next Matrix movie? So that he and Keanu can wear black and just be in the same shot together 😏
Maybe Adam can play a corrupted version of Neo and the movie turns into a brawl reminiscent of the Jack/Evil Jack fight in Samurai Jack. I'd watch the sh** out of that.
Yessss! I NEED ITTT
("Hello, World!")
With the short hair she becomes such an intimidating beautiful smart sharp looking lady. When she has longer hair, she just seems less intimidating... oh the power of hair.
Megan Sampson is she intimidating or are you intimidated?
she looks 'spicy' and bitchin'
I sooo want to blast you on this comment. So her intelligence is tied to her hair? You may want to rethink, re-read your comment before pushing send.
Utter and complete nonsense
How does Charleze Theron do it? 20+ years in the business and still so fresh and beautiful! Here is me aging every hour🙄😅
I simply ADORE Adam Driver💜
im so addicted to Marriage Story movie because of Adam's performance. so so raw and so heart-wrenching.
Happy birthday Adam 🎂🎈♥️
Adam asked great questions ♥
This video deserves 1million views!😁 This was so intriguing to watch. I could listen to these two amazing people talk all day long!🥰🥰😍😍
I'm glad Kylo took off his helmet for the interview.
This was an excellent interview. Im glad to be able to hear Charlize talk about her work and not an outfit she wore. Great job Adam.
("Hello, World!")
Two of my favorites! Thanks for putting them together! I feel the COOL vibes spewing from the room!
Charlize is a godess. Just a beautiful and great man like him can face that kind of greatness and stand ground.
She is a lioness, she leads, she rules. And he goes with it, being younger without being diminished. Love them both.
"are u worried peolpe won't like you?" ....bruh... the dude killed han solo
Though the J's stole the show, I will always love Charlize and how shockingly down to Earth she is. Not to mention gorgeous.. 💘
the long-legged session.. love both of them
I don't think an interview gets classier than this both elegant actors.
Gosh I love how Adam is just truly listening to Charlize! Look at his intense gaze. Damn! I hope they have a movie together now 😍
This interview is so serious and professional and I learned a lot from two pros. Love how Marriage Story is treated like theater and have those long takes.
he seems like a really good listener, patient and thoughtful while giving a lot of consideration to his own answers as well. in a lot of these interviews, it can feel like they've just thrown two random actors in a room together, but with adam and charlize you can tell that these are two pros who really enjoy their craft and learning from other people.
and you can see that Charlize really enjoyed the movie and his performance.
He's wearing the air Jordan that he bought like 10 years ago
No, That color way came out recently. They’re called the gym red Jordan 1.

@@danielmaxfield4368 I have no knowledge about shoes so my bad 🙅🙅🙅
I thought so too but he said in another interview that he waited so long to wear them, they grew bacteria.
So what? Maybe he dont feel a better ator or person Just because he bought a new shoes.... today's crisis i think..
We are actors, we are just walking insecurities - Charlize Theron 2019
Henji'sPlace actors are shapeshifters
Walking insecurities with huge bank accounts
Couldn't agree more! That s one big n undeniable truth
Charlize Theron's voice is soooo perfect. I'm surprised she doesn't sing.
("Hello, World!")
I love this series, you can actually see the moment they both become comfortable with each other in conversation. Been binging this over the past few days fantastic!!
Adam voice is so deep than Indian ocean😂😂😂
Yeah. There's some intensity there, isn't there?
"Adams voice is deeper than The Indian Ocean" FTFY
The Pacific is deeper than the Inian ocean but I get you. I have a friend that looks like Adam and yes he's beautiful 💙

Imagine Keanu Reeves and Adam in a movie
Maybe a John Wick 4 movie where they are father and son?
Great conversation, loved their depth and insight
Charlize looks so classy, and beautiful, and I love her short hair style, what a fantastic look for her!
Kylo Is always so dark and serious. I like that!
Adam Driver is so intimidating
i want to see adam driver again soon on this series. he's such a wonderful energy. great listener. great actor. insightful and amazing to listen to.
She says actors are "walking insecurities". He does not seem like that at all. Adam seems so secure, which is, of course, expressed in a calm, easy manner.
I disagree. He won't even watch him own films because he can't stand watching himself.
He has spoken about how watching himself gives him anxiety attacks. He’s as insecure and neurotic as every other actor.
@@Itsjustkat1003 Neurotic? What a heartless comment.
I am loving Actors on Actors series really informative and just letting them talk to each other is a great idea
