The kiddos announced his first at-bat. Stephen's last at bat was a Homer. His first at-bat for the A's was a Homer in the same place. That's what sent us in attendance into the stratosphere! Great day.

I was 20 years old watching Field of Dreams at the theater crying like a baby. Feeling sad while simultaneously feeling this unmatchable happiness and peace. Just want my boy to be able to feel that about this unique sport. The only sport that MUST have the brotherhood of a team sport, but yet it's a full one on nine. Not just an individual one on one.
In my opinion, there is a lot of ignorance required to hate this game. I remember being almost resentful of the fact that it existed, and naturally it was a problem with me, not the game itself. Funnily enough, it was when the Cubs won the World Series in 2016 that I started to warm up to the game.
It’s late at night & I’m like 10 minutes from going to bed. I usually check my iPad one last time before lights out, and I’m so glad I did. This is the sweetest, most loving video I’ve seen all day. What a lucky man to have his parents, wife & children at his last MLB game. But it only got better when he smacked that bomb, congratulations Mr. Vogt.

I played in little league with this man and nobody deserved it more. He still plays the game like he did when we were 12. Nobody has more fun. #ibelieveinstephenvogt #vogter
I worked for the minor baseball team in Alabama, the Montgomery Biscuits, in 2011 and remember watching Stephen play and thinking to myself that this guy will make it in the MLB. He was one of my favorite players on the team. I'm proud of his career and happy his last at bat wl be a home run. Congratulations 🎉
