    F'n legend! Thank you so much for this video. I've watched so many, but only this one showed me what I needed to know because similar to the one you cut, the leaf stem I have grew horizontally for about 4" and then up at a 90° angle. So many people telling me it won't propagate and grow "correctly".

I had one question: when I take it to soil for planting what is the best medium to use? thanks for this video!!
    I am a little confused about where new leaves can grow from.. if you have one plant (one main stem with multiple nodes/roots and leaves), new leaves just grow out of the stem of the newest leaf. If you are propagating and you cut the plant into sections, each with a stem/leaf and node or root, and then try to propagate the cuttings, is it possible for new leaves to grow from all the cuttings, or only a cutting containing the plant's newest leaf? And if you take a cutting from a mother plant and the cutting contains the newest stem, node, and leaf, can that mother plant still produce new leaves? Sorry if this is confusing I'm new to all of this! Thank you!!

    • @JohnDennery
      @JohnDennery 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The answer to all of the scenarios you have listed is: YES! All of these plants will begin producing new leaves once again. There are multiple dormant points on the plant that will begin to grow into the next growing tip, once the current one is removed. After your cutting has a sufficient root system it will begin to grow more leaves. If your cutting contains the growth tip it will probably win the race but the others won't be too far behind. Monsteras are incredibly vigorous growers and respond very well to pruning and propagation. Best luck with your plant experiments!

I am asking because I wonder how high is the survival rate, how often to trim the roots, how often do you add seawood solution to it?

    • @darganx
      @darganx 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      With these plants you don't need to overthink things - put in water for a month or two until you see well formed roots, then plant in soil and keep in a bright area, not in direct sunlight. Lightly fertilize once a month.
      Only caution is not to have outside in winter, they like warmth so perfect near the light source in the kitchen or bathroom.
