Fyi....incorrect on size for LMM and LML. The LMM is NOT a 1.5" plug.....I have a LMM and per your advice I went and got a 1.5" but it actually needs a 2" plug. So back to Home Depot I go. Maybe this helps the next guy...
My deleted lml still has its resonator, and it sounds like that can’t wait to see what it sounds like without the resonator

just did this on my 2016 2500, not a noticeable difference but for 3$ at least the engine bay looks less crowded.

The Helmholz resonator on the Duramax is there to cancel out or minimize the acoustic waves bouncing between the turbocharger and the intake valves. The Helmholz resonator stabilizes the uninterrupted airflow between the turbo and the cylinder by making the airflow to the heads much smoother and more constant. When you remove it, the resulting, unopposed acoustic bounce between the turbo and the intake valves destabilizes smooth airflow, costing you power and efficiency. If you remove it, pay attention to throttle response and acceleration. My LLY was noticeably slower to respond and had some fall off of power in certain throttle settings when I took it off and plugged the hole. I put it back on the next day.

You have to remove that piece of plumbing pipe cap off of your resonator sleeve..
And install a k&n air filter for a '92 Kawasaki EX500.. fits perfectly more airflow looks beautiful and sounds better..
Have you noticed a difference in mpg/engine response?
K&N air filters across the board are terrible filters of small particles. Research it. You’ll see.
@@markdavid4897 Ik it’s been 3 months and I’ve seen plenty of people with bad opinions on k&n but as long as u keep them clean and OILED they work just fine I’ve have 4 different trucks and ran it in all of them and I’ve never had a problem. I think the main issue is that people aren’t cleaning them and if they are they aren’t putting oil back on them.
Mine says fernco……yes its a 2” gem cap!!! Rubber plumbing fitting….only fitting considering im a 20+ yr veteran plumber!!!………same exact cap as what you used just 2”

What exhaust system do you have? My stock exhaust is super quiet on my 2500 and I want a nice deep tone to it. I don't care too much about the whistling
Get a turbo back straight pipe, and at least a 6 in tip, that’s gonna do what you want
It’s what I have and it’s not to loud but definitely loud enough and sounds good, I just have the turbo back I’m waiting to get the tip

Did it on my 16 lml and couldn't tell any difference what's so ever ! Waste of 2.5 mins to do it
It worked for me. Not a huge difference but noticeable.

I understand tuning can really help gas milage but will it fail an emissions test or cancel a warranty?

Fail emissions, yes & cancel warranty, yes.
If you truck uses DEF it has a DPF in the exhaust system so will need to be removed by replacement pipe or full exhaust. I’m sure you could tune without removing the equipment but that would be pointless not to remove it
What cold air intake would you recommend? Does the aluminum win over plastic? I want one for my l5p but not sure there are so many to choose from. Any advice will help. Thanks so much! I will try to delete my 6.6 box too.
S&B is honestly they only one I’d get man I know it’s been 10 months but they make quality stuff that will actually draw more air and colder air if you cheap out you’ll likely get just as much sound but will also just suck hot air from the engine bay
What brand of exhaust do you have.
I have a 2015, so is it a 1.5" or 2" for the resonator? It says 1.5" for lml then he says a 2in. Which is it?

I dont think it makes any power but it definitely makes the turbo louder.
Does the truck have to be deleted to do this? Will it fuck with the egr if the egr is not deleted when you delete the resonator

Yes. Its slightly different but you'll see the box when you open the hood. Only one nut holding 2020+ on . Not sure on the cap size though. Might still be 1.5"..

Did you do a dpf delete? Can you also delete the dpf without deleting the egr?
Just take my advice and do a full delete. Delete the egr and straight pipe it. Will make the truck run better and last longer.

I am not sure but at the top it might be the same as mine. You can get all 3 sizes and use the one that works for you.

Just bring your L5P to Saskatchewan Canada have it deleted and 5" turbo back straight pipe exhaust with 6" chrome tip. These L5P deleted straight piped Duramax's sound sooooo goooood

@@marklavrentyev1309 Also there's impact diesel in Saskatoon Saskatchewan there's a diesel performance shop in Regina SK I just can't think of the name at the moment but there's is some very serious diesel performance shops in Alberta aswell but the L5P isn't cheap to delete I think give it some time it'll get cheaper but they sound so dam good I heard one in person 5" turbo back with different turbo and 230 hp tune I can't describe how good it sounded I didn't have time to take a video. It was a welding truck I didn't get time to get details on the turbo and the cost of the build and all the details but it sounded like a jet at idle and 6.0 Powerstroke straight pipe sound but just a bit deeper as he left Tim Hortons I'd guess he was at a half throttle. Nice thing about Saskatchewan emissions delete will Never be illegal here 🤘😛
