White Winged Dove

Sometimes called "Mexican White Wing", these doves live in the southern half of Texas, through Mexico and Central America, to the Caribbean. They are starting to spread throughout the rest of Texas, eastward along the Gulf coast, into Louisiana and Mississippi, because of backyard bird feeders. They are beautifully marked, with white on the wing edges (visible in flight), a blue skinned ring around bright red eyes, a brown streak on the cheek and pink legs.
