Showing off Carolina bass fishing ! Good fishing in northern Carolina to Va border all waters are good from Bugg’s to Jordan, East and west from Chowan to High Rock good luck guys welcome to NC
Brent Between the Chowan and Roanoke Rivers you guys will catch a bunch of 6, 7, and 8lb Bass. Learn the current and you will learn to crush them in both rivers. 20 to 30lb bags of 5 fish are going to be had in every tournament.
Brett the entire Albermarle system is 1,900,000 acres 12 rivers. You guys are only getting Chowan Roanoke the first 25 miles of it and Cashie To bad you don’t get it all The Roanoke is 410 miles long June will be way different we usually have a algae bloom And have since they sprayed for grass 8 yrs ago
Awesome! There is a tournament there this weekend for the VA Elite 70s. Woo Daves, former Classic Champion, fishes it. Should be a great event Saturday.
It's a unique fishery to be sure. How it holds up to a BPT event will be interesting. If you can run up the Chowan almost to the NC/VA line that may help keep the fishing pressure down. Good ;luck to you. I'm about 1 1/2 hours away. If I can attend one of the days I will.
It took 29 pounds to win a club tournament two weeks ago. None of the rivers that feed the Albemarle sound are true tidal rivers like the Potomac or James rivers. The salt content in the alligator river is slightly higher due to it being further east . This sometimes has a negative impact on the spawn in that river. The wind direction has the biggest impact on these rivers. There is no “running the tide” like you find in the James river or Potomac River.
I agree there is no running the tide. It’s nothing like Potomac or a ‘true’ tidal river. I was only saying that navionics shows a tide chart. Looks further out than where we will be fishing though. I’m excited to get back there for sure!
It is a tidal river…. But it does not fluctuate very much. (According to the tide charts online.). So it’s not very noticeable. But I agree that the wind is a much bigger deal.
@@marlowe61 I hear ya…. I’m going by my research. It has a tidal chart on the navionics app it shows a tide chart for edenton, NC. Tidetime.org too. Less than one ft fluctuation… but it says it does. Not trying to argue, just saying what my research shows. But I could be wrong. The internet is full of misinformation.
You think chowan good you ought to fish Roanoke omg biguns my favorite place to fish use black and blue frog or black and yellow spro walking frogs when yall have the tournament at chowan

If it blows it can be one of the roughest places you’ve ever fished The shallowness makes for big waves
You are 💯 percent correct.

Will you guys be allowed to fish the roanoke or pasquotank or alligator? Just wondered if you already knew the boundaries.
So much is off limits when we get back there. But the good news is that I can fish the alligator and have some fun on my days off.
What spinnerbait were you throwing?
It's not tidal. It is wind driven.

No Brent it is not a tidal river. I live in Edenton. The ocean tides do not affect the he river.
