    The best thing is that you show how many days from seed to transplanting. I have been rushing the process. Gardeners need patience! Great videos, thank you.

    This channel is a PERFECT 10👍 for gardening tips. You suggested diluted fish fertilizer during growing season. Is it best to use liquid fertilizer in fall and dry or granules during spring/summer?
    Thanks for this excellent channel.

    • @TowardGarden
      @TowardGarden  ปีที่แล้ว

      Wow, delighted to see your comment. For fast growing leafy vegetables I prefer to use liquid fertilizer for its quick effect. If you will harvest for a long period, dry organic fertilizer works too. For green crops, blood meal is a great choice. I hope this answers your question and thank you so much for your support!😊🙌

    Thank you for a clear, precise informative video. How much sun does your planters get?

    • @TowardGarden
      @TowardGarden  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I had them in a location with about 6 hours of sun. Kale can do well in anything between 4 to 8 hours of sun. The good thing about planters is that you can move them around so plants get the best sunlight. Hope this helps and thank you so much for your comment!

    • @TowardGarden
      @TowardGarden  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      So glad you enjoyed the videos. You can lightly firm seeds in place but avoid making soil packed. This will make it easy for roots to develop and also when you water, the soil will get compact as required. Hope this helps and thank you so much for your comment!

    THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH FOR YOUR VIDEOS! 💛 When you stated to "thin to one seedling per plug", are you throwing away the sprouted seedling or should it be planted in a different container?

    • @TowardGarden
      @TowardGarden  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      It depends if you have room to grow extra seedlings. I usually have enough seedlings and with my limited garden space, I just toss them in my salad or compost them. Kale seedlings will be fine if you replant them in another container. It is totally up to you. I hope this helps and thank you so much for your comment!😊

      Kale is a cool crop and usually I don't have that much issue with pests like I do in summer time, but I have used neem oil and Spinosad mix few times. If you don't want to use any sprays, cover them with a garden netting. I hope this helps and thank you for your comment!

    • @TowardGarden

      We have mild winters and usually grow cool weather crops such as kale in late fall thru early spring. Kale performs well in cold, but if it is too cold, germinate seeds in a controlled condition and you can transfer them outside. Happy growing and thank you for visiting!

    How do you prevent hungry bugs destroying crop ?

    • @TowardGarden
      @TowardGarden  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Since kale is a cold crop, I usually don't have much problem with bugs. I check the leaves daily and if I see any signs of pest, and depending on the type, I use neem oil mix or spinosad mix which both are organic. If you don't want to use any sprays, covering them with garden netting is a great option too. Hope this answers your question and thanks for visiting.

    Is there a benefit of planting seedlings versus direct sowing seeds into containers/grow bags?

    • @TowardGarden
      @TowardGarden  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I prefer to start my seeds in a controlled media with no nutrients or soil fungi. This is to make sure disease like "damping off" don't effect seeds/seedlings. I suggest to sow few extra seeds in different media so if some don't germinate ,you don't miss your growing season. But direct sowing is definetely doable too. Happy growing and thank you for visiting.
