its a comfort to know that as strange and diffrent fallout 1 is to new vegas that i can still go on that journey with my favorite gun....just hope its as relevant in f1
It's odd hearing someone say that 44 magnum ammo is difficult to acquire, back when i still played on xbox 360 with my primary character i had so much of it stocked up i used the Mysterious Magnum to take out "varmints" and other such lower threat enemies. Saving the Ranger Sequoia and the 45-70 semi wadcutters for more dangerous game.
@@jamestiberius9730 It's best to buy it, it is always available at Gun Runners. You can stock up hundreds of rounds of any ammo in the bade game from them. I just got the Anti-Materiel Rifle and I'm already at 450 rounds of 50 MG
I believe it would have been correct to say it's "Rare" for the level required for them to appear in the wild. Granted, there's a set spot or two one will always be and of course Mysterious Magnum but if you rush to acquire one ASAP the ammo availability is still scarce. But, after a certain point everything is available to a point it's laughable.
@HeyaMaya heavy handed only works with melee and unarmed. It's a good damage boost for melee/unarmed weapons that can't crit However crit builds have a lot more ways to boost crit rate/damage then a heavy handed build. for a crit build you can stack finesse, light touch, grahms amor, 1st recon beret, better crits. just lucky I'm alive, laser commander, built to destroy, ninja, fight the power, true police stories, Elijah's ramblings. Better criticals, just lucky I'm alive, and elijah's ramblings stack multiplicatively to a 237.5 % crit damage bonus which for most weapons is more then the 20% bonus from heavy handed.
Big Dongo No, I still would use that emoji. The sweating emoji implies that Texas Red tries to appear confident, but really he is unsure of his sense of self; due to the Ranger having so many guns.
I always get the ranger sequoia by going to camp golf and using the Mister Sandman perk on a ranger with it equipped. A great end game revolver for sure
i stand behind the Chief, blow it out of his hand and then holster and run past him to grab it before he can get it and run away, they return to neutral and since u didnt kill any1 no negatives. it's how i get most of the NPC-owned unique weapons, only downside is having to repair the things, but since Jury Rigging is pretty much on my character stats as much as their name is its a quick and cheap fix.

The 12.7mm pistol will always leave an impression on me from when I first visited the Skumm Pit, and saw Neil make bloody paste out of one of the Skullz with his 14mm. That's a gun that says "don't trifle with me, boy". Actually kinda surprised Killian only had a lousy Desert Eagle.

I was immediately going to protest lack of Police Pistol presence in this video, but then the very first thing you talked about was was my all-time favorite revolver. Thank you...
i feel like it was a bit of a nod to the .357 magnum users in-game also. while there is Lucky, myself and I know a fair few like to do 'themed' runs where you might only use something like an NCR Trooper basic gear for the majority of the run etc etc for some spice, and here was a .357 revolver that was loaded via a swing-out cylinder instead of a gate-loader AND called a police pistol so even moreso for some RP runs to literally be a 'cop' on a mission etc.
Later in the game, it’s actually pretty easy to get a lot of the ones that you can buy. Just take the long haul perk, farm ambush spots, and reap the benefits.
@@mr.grimms321 Firstly I said go look up at the most popular mod site. Secondly there is no gameplay mechanic in the base game that lets you leveling up your weapon. I am sure you can put two and two together by yourself.
Small tip that I found helpful for early game is if you hotkey guns that need to be single loaded(cowboy repeater and lever action shotgun for early game usually) you can fully reload by switching guns so if you fire all but one shot then press the hotkey for another you can keep that chaining. If you accidently fire the last round you can cancel the reload animation by spamming fire and pipboy and don't for get to try and be holding a movement key other then forward while doing it just to try and dodge a bit. If you find yourself with only one single loading gun you can try firing all but the last shot then opening vats and shooting twice so you reload during the slowmo, just know that larger clip sizes(even just the 2 more the cowboy has over lever action is enough) that slowmo will runout mid reload leaving you a sitting duck so at least don't use that tip against groups or even at all in some situations. It will take some getting used to and frankly you'll probably die more trying to get used to it at first but even on my build where my highest weapon stat is 25 I can really lay out some damage.
Never stopped, albeit never “bought” the dlcs I’ve finished all but lonesome road and to this date still the single handed best game I’ve ever played besides maybe flashpoint dragon rising
A Light Shining in Darkness is a pretty great little pistol. But i won't lie, the standard .45 Auto pistol is probably my personal favorite handgun in the game. With it's modifications, it's very powerful, has a fast rate of fire, and it's a serious contender for strongest holdout weapon in the game. I always feel like James Bond everytime I sneak into somewhere with a silenced .45 Auto, putting silenced rounds into people's heads without alerting anybody that I'm around. If I can, I will figure out how to mod this game to give me a black .45 Auto with a silver grip that has all it's modifications already installed. Beef up it's stats a little to match A Light Shining in Darkness, and there you go. :)
the best place to get lots of ammo and for the best price is the Grate Khan Armory. If you have at least 80 in barter (my character had when I checked) you can sell your stuff at the best price to. So when I have a lot of gear I will go there and exchange my gear for ammo and then go to the gun runners and buy their uniques and give them ammo in return
my brain is a literal encyclopedia of everything to do in New Vegas, a hard drive backup of the entire datacombed game. and yet, I love sitting here watching your videos. very comfy vibe to it, found you through your Fallout 1 tutorials, great content
It might be worth noting that you can reliably 'acquire' a .44 from Miguel's pawn shop. Along with a few other goodies including a lever action shotgun and a set of reinforced metal armor.
Regarding rarity of 45-70 Govt. ammo, I believe you'll get a constant supply of them at Big MT at high level since lobs use Hunting revolver or brush gun. On Sequoia, the rangers with helmet won't appear until you progress through main quest to the point of activating Mk.2 of securitrons on the fort.
Fun fact, the glitch as to why the mysterious magnums theme play twice can be observed, sometimes when you pull it out with the quick draw perk you can see it come out the disappear and then get pulled out again. The gun gets pulled out so fast that it draws twice, this can also be observed with other guns, but the double draw causes the gun to double the theme.
I recently found out how good the police pistol actually is I use it with hollow points bringing it's base damage to I think 56 roughly with 100 gun skill plus the maxed out stealth suit from the big MT and the first recon beret and sneak attacks it's a soft target/armor slayer it also sounds amazing
My pc barely running the game and my own personal skill makes me kinda bad at close range with revolvers, but oh man, there are hardly better feelings in video games than shotting down an enemy with accurate revolver hip shots in new vegas.
the beautiful thing about the ranger sequoia is that once you get the handloader and juryrigging perks, both of its main downsides are practically neutralized. SWC ammo is stupid strong and even though it will degrade your gun even faster than normal, the fact that it's repairable with any .357 magnum or 9mm makes maintenance a non-issue. A simple run through powder ganger territory ever couple of hours is more than enough to keep your gun pristine. Also, make friends with the khans. The great khan armorer has a metric ton of ammo, including a whole lot of .45-70 govt.
Lucky is my favourite gun in the entire game. I know it's low damage but it's so easy to get and when you have ten luck and finesse, I fall in love with it. Three shoting deathclaws
My favorites were always Lucky and the Ranger Sequoia. I just felt like a real gunslinger using such beautifully engraved old revolvers. I’ve always loved cowboy actions so New Vegas is always fun.
You can get 2000+ 12.7mm Rounds from Sgt. Contreras in Camp McCarran's Supply Shack... Keep Li'l Devil fed and happy for a very long time... (A godsend for the Survivalist's Rifle, too)...
It's intentionally hard to reward players that invested into lockpick early. Lucky is actually really good. it has a super high crit chance, low ap cost, is easily repaired, and uses common amo. It also only needs 3 strength and no gun skill to use without sway. It also has decent but not spectacular spread. Also it's relevant perks such as cowboy and rapid reload are low level perks with low skill requirements. Biggest draw back is the reload speed.
@@MrGhosta5 Still, i feel like a 75 was way too high. If nothing else, a 50 would have worked. And maybe put in a key somewhere. Just seems like by the time youd normally get this gun you have others that would easily outclass it, like the Mysterious Magnum or That Gun even. And they're loads easier to obtain...
@@comettamer 75 seems just right to me. If lockpick is one of your three tagged skills, you should be able to get up to 75 lockpick well before reaching level 10. At least I was able to.

Fun fact “that gun” is the gun from blade runner
Are you sure it's not "that" gun from blade runner?
Another fun fact: The weapon originates from Fallout 2, as it was called 5.57mm Pistol. But nobody called it like that, and referred to it as "That Gun". Obsidian re-added the joke to the game as a special-type pistol.
Auga Kem It was in Fallout 1 too,but was a unique weapon there
its a comfort to know that as strange and diffrent fallout 1 is to new vegas that i can still go on that journey with my favorite gun....just hope its as relevant in f1

Ok, but saying 44 isnt rare because 45-70 is rarer is like saying $99 isnt valuable because $100 is more valuable!
Leaf Finite He’s got a point though it’s semi rare but after a while it’s easy as hell to find
@@jamestiberius9730 It's best to buy it, it is always available at Gun Runners. You can stock up hundreds of rounds of any ammo in the bade game from them. I just got the Anti-Materiel Rifle and I'm already at 450 rounds of 50 MG
@Awkward Seal the ncr merchant inside the hoover dam has way more ammo usually
I believe it would have been correct to say it's "Rare" for the level required for them to appear in the wild. Granted, there's a set spot or two one will always be and of course Mysterious Magnum but if you rush to acquire one ASAP the ammo availability is still scarce. But, after a certain point everything is available to a point it's laughable.
For me my top has to be the misterious Magnum. That song. THAT DAMAGE. Love the gun.

@@therealbubble4696 WAAAAAAAAAAAANG (Whan you holster it)
Base damage isn't actually all that important. Critical hits is how you deal the big damage in new vegas.
@@MrGhosta5 thats right crit build is the easiest way to play.

The sweating emoji implies that Texas Red tries to appear confident, but really he is unsure of his sense of self; due to the Ranger having so many guns.
So glad people still do new vids on NV. I have played through it 10 times and still look forward to my next playthrough.
I just do the reverse pickpocketing trick.
3:20 If you're doing the quest "Come Fly with me" and the task is finding the fuel, you can go to him to ask about this. If you have enough science points, you can get acess to his room and stolen that gun easily. And complete the fuel task if you pick at least 3 of this rocket's, that why this room have radiation
You still make guides for new Vegas omg I used to watch this channel all the time when playing new Vegas glad you’re still making great content
Your videos are helpful, as I recently got all the achievements for Fallout 3, I've been thinking of restarting New Vegas, now I know where unique weapons are I'm most likely gone restart playing New Vegas. Thank you for your videos
After I'm done with Outer Worlds, it's back to a modded new vegas playthrough.
No mods. Only dlc
Please keep up the videos on this amazing game, they are so entertaining. Let’s keep fallout: New Vegas talked about for 9 more years to come!
Personally I'd just use the Lil' Devil to save ammo for the Medicine Stick.
Good move.
Later in the game, it’s actually pretty easy to get a lot of the ones that you can buy. Just take the long haul perk, farm ambush spots, and reap the benefits.
That Gun is that one special weapon I always get during a playthrough, use it a couple times. Then leave it in the Lucky 38
Lucky revolver for a 10 Luck build playthrough.
Bonus, use Lucky with Signature Weapon Mod which allows you to leveling up your specific weapon.

I love Lil Devil. It's like a Fallout post apocalyptic desert eagle.
"Six bullets...more than enough to kill anything that moves...". That's what Revolver Ocelot said in one of the MGS games.
A Light in Shining Darkness is a must have. Also Joshua’s armor is badass and practical.
For anyone who wants the hunting revolver you can get the normal variant at the Repconn facility, Black mountain and bloodbourne cave.
Worthless advice
A light shining in darkness, simply the best pistol, shoots quickly, deals decent damage, has nice crit multiplier, can be reloaded quickly

I am, right now im doing the old world blues dlc
The that gun is just a sci fi ye haw gun
the best place to get lots of ammo and for the best price is the Grate Khan Armory. If you have at least 80 in barter (my character had when I checked) you can sell your stuff at the best price to. So when I have a lot of gear I will go there and exchange my gear for ammo and then go to the gun runners and buy their uniques and give them ammo in return
Is it better than the one at hoover dam?
my brain is a literal encyclopedia of everything to do in New Vegas, a hard drive backup of the entire datacombed game. and yet, I love sitting here watching your videos. very comfy vibe to it, found you through your Fallout 1 tutorials, great content
It might be worth noting that you can reliably 'acquire' a .44 from Miguel's pawn shop. Along with a few other goodies including a lever action shotgun and a set of reinforced metal armor.
You are so kind and really an expert, thank you for your amazing work bro!
Pretty sure those helmeted rangers will appear much earlier in NCR assassination groups if you get on their bad side.
@@OneBiasedOpinion All they drop are hunting shotguns or assault carbines
No one dared to ask his question, no one dared to make a slip, cause the stranger there among them had a big iron on his hip
You didn't mention that "That Gun" is a reference to the sidearm Deckard uses in Blade Runner.
My favourite movie referenced in my favourite game. Priceless.
After seeing the thumbnail it appears that Revolver Ocelot was wrong. Engravings do give a tactical advantage when you play New Vegas.
I recently found out how good the police pistol actually is I use it with hollow points bringing it's base damage to I think 56 roughly with 100 gun skill plus the maxed out stealth suit from the big MT and the first recon beret and sneak attacks it's a soft target/armor slayer it also sounds amazing
When you find a beautiful revolver but it's double action😭

Look at all those big irons I gotta get them all to use them all against Texas red
My favorite set are Lucky, Mysterious Magnum, that gun and the big iron Ranger sequoia for rifle I use Medicine stick I like everything cowboy
I agree. My main character is big into the cowboy stuff.
YIP
I found lucky at the beginning. I should not have this kind of power right now
My pc barely running the game and my own personal skill makes me kinda bad at close range with revolvers, but oh man, there are hardly better feelings in video games than shotting down an enemy with accurate revolver hip shots in new vegas.
I got lucky recently and damn, they weren't lying
That critical chance can multiply
caedo uploads a vid

the beautiful thing about the ranger sequoia is that once you get the handloader and juryrigging perks, both of its main downsides are practically neutralized.
Lucky is my favorite pistol because it's .357 and a Colt 1873.
You can get those in real life too, uberti makes a pistol called "the cody" which is an 1873 chambered in .357
Using the little devil in vats with the steady chem makes for a nice combo
Lucky is my favourite gun in the entire game. I know it's low damage but it's so easy to get and when you have ten luck and finesse, I fall in love with it. Three shoting deathclaws
With ulysses duster lucky shades and a 1st recon beret its amazing
really high quality video for your average reach. you deserve a lot more subscribers

I used That Gun throughout the entire game. With the Cowboy Perk, it's all I ever really needed in a handgun.
My only issue with the Police Pistol is that despite being a revolver, it doesn't get bonuses from the Cowboy perk which makes me sad
Li'l Devil and 12.7mm(with silencer) supremacy with me
Mysterious Strangers .44 Magnum.
the fact this is a very resent video makes me happy
I feel like with Lucky, the devs meant to put in a key and forgot, or else meant to lower the difficulty to make it more accessible but forgot.
@@mr_beezlebub3985 Yeah, but that specifically requires tagging and using points that could be better spent. It sorta kills any RP plan and is overall a bit annoying.
@@comettamer Of course it requires tagging. So does any other skill you want your character to specialize in. And for some role playing perspectives, that would be a good thing.
