After the first video I was wondering how you were going to do the doors. I was chuckling to myself: "Ha ha, he forgot the doors". Nope. You had a brilliant solution. Very well done.
Great build. loved the game back in the day when it originally came out, not played it for decades now since all grown up and everyone I played with are scattered all over the place. The board looks amazing, you should talk to the owners about making them for everyone as not everyone (e.g. me) can make it or even pain anymore. Hope you and your family really enjoy your new board!
LoL....i was watching parts 1 and 2.....first thing that came to mind as you were building the second layer of wall was.....yup this board is cool....but how da frag can they forget about doors at this stage. But it really was a clever way to make those doors. A+ on the project !!
This is really cool! If you purchased the new version of this game, your board will still be the perfect scale but will also have updated miniatures and 3d (cardboard-less) furniture
Incredible HQ board! I love how home-made it is, down to each and every brick! Really dig the aesthetic and tribute to the original board! Definitely a work of love, congrats! I learned a lot from watching this as I'm working on my own board so thank you for the great inspiration. Happy adventuring!
Thank you! You know someone else asked me about that and I do have the file. Here is the link: drive.google.com/file/d/1k60FhVk7k0Ky4DWRGS137FIXbSRTaL0h/view?usp=sharing
I was just browsing youtube for some HQ related inspiration (working on my own board) and then I stumbled upon this video. This is a great looking board with a lot of details. Awesome work, liked and subscribed ;)
Simply amazing. I was looking for the best way to make my 3D heroquest and i think we have a winner. Would It be possible for you to upload those Doors files? They look amazing. You have make an incredible job
Thank you! I am so glad you enjoyed it! You know, I found the original AI files I drew of the doors. See if you can download it by this Google Drive link: drive.google.com/file/d/1k60FhVk7k0Ky4DWRGS137FIXbSRTaL0h/view?usp=sharing
What kind of hot wire foam cutter did you use to make the bricks? I feel like making this board would cost like -$500+ haha. It looks soooo good though
I used the Proxxon 37080 Hot Wire Cutter. It is right here: www.amazon.com/Proxxon-37080-Wire-Cutter-THERMOCUT/dp/B0017NS8H6/ref=sr_1_2?gclid=CjwKCAiA3pugBhAwEiwAWFzwda2LGb38AjalE2U5jluKr93CyjoYPfuIbbRxJ0kl2Cs1nbeEsFs3FRoChJMQAvD_BwE&hvadid=243337896450&hvdev=c&hvlocphy=9012664&hvnetw=g&hvqmt=e&hvrand=17202405514947238831&hvtargid=kwd-410750868467&hydadcr=29042_10166002&keywords=proxxon+hot+wire+foam+cutter&qid=1678252983&sr=8-2
Thank you! It is a bit hard to store, but I found a way. I don't even know how many hours went into the project. It was made over several weeks on and off.
I am very flattered, but we are not making more of these. This one was built to be on the Dinner and a Boardgame: th-cam.com/video/ptzeXj2x1Ow/w-d-xo.html It isn't something we are making again.
It has been so long since I painted these, I can't remember. But I did use the Army Painter paints and tried to match them as closely to the colors on the original release of HeroQuest as possible.
@@EHeathRobinson great job btw with the channel! I loved the dinner and board game with your friends. Never heard of the game before but i bought it in a instant after seeing you play it! I really love it. Please make some more videos with Heroquest!!
@@deusjesp3405 I am so glad you found the channel and the game. It has been our family favorite for years. I did a solo HeroQuest last Friday night th-cam.com/users/liveLpeEu67rEuE . I am planning on doing it again this Friday night.
@@EHeathRobinson well it looks fantastic. I would have guessed the better part of a year considering the time it took to have the doors made and everything. Really nice work dude! 👍🏻
I can’t believe this doesn’t have a ton of views, feel like I’ve just found a gem, the patience and detail put into this is outstanding
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it!

question, would 1k be enough for you if I ordered the board fully finished with the walls and the open closed doors?
