My band Nova Sutro played at the Boardwalk several times along with other bands I was in. It was like a home to me.
We played a show earlier that day in Auburn. I planned to come down for this show, but I got sick. I saw him with VR in 2006.
    Thanks for posting this.

Oh too bad you couldn't make the show. I've probably seen your band play, I've been to do many shows over the years. Thanks for watching!

@@EdCollects In 2014, my band Crazy Dog opened up for Faster Pussy Cat and Orgy. In 2017 Nova Sutro opened for Last In Line. This besides a bunch of other small gigs at the Boardwalk.
In 2014-15 was awesome, you could go in during the day and the owner, Marcy I think would open her schedule book and you could pick the shows you wanted until it went to Live Nation and it became a lot harder to get gigs.

I was lucky to see Scott perform live twice.
*Once with STP on July 8, 1993 at the Seattle Center Arena. Seattle, WA.
*And once with Velvet Revolver on April 22, 2005 at the Everett Events Center. Everett, WA.
He stole both shows, with very different unique styles, 12 yrs apart.
In 93 he was almost manic in his never ending movements & spinning all over the stage. Just killing the Stone Temple set, sounded great!
In Everett, even alongside 2 other superstars, Slash & Duff.. Scott demanded your attention while commanding the stage. Had the presence of a Bowie, a Mercury, a Morrison.. Big voice and big movements.
    Sounded and looked fantastic.
A brilliant & troubled soul gone too soon. R.I.P. Scott..
    Gone, but never forgotten.

I'd give anything to have been able to see STP in the early 90s! I saw them in 2000 and they were still great. Scott was all over the place and sounded great.

He apparently had one of his main arteries 90% blocked. All the years smoking and drugs did it in the end. It’s no wonder he didn’t have the energy anymore. I never saw him, wish I did. But I am in Boise. The only time I could have was Velvet Revolver. Kick myself for not going.
The way she moves is on of my favorites. So good.

  • @EchavezB

Fuck this makes me so sad, there was so much pressure on him and he just couldn’t keep up. And of course the horrible decision of trying drugs destroyed his life. His situation was managed so poorly. So avoidable, thank you for the footage

Saw him twice with Velvet Revolver and he killed it both times. 3 times with STP. 2 of them he was sober and they crushed it. I did unfortunately get to experience an STP show where he was obviously impaired and it was not good to say the least. You could definitely tell when he wasn't sober. STP was my wife's favorite band and it's sad we'll never get to see Scott perform again .

The last 10 or so years of Scott's life was a battle not only with drugs/alcohol but mental illness. He was paranoid and had hallucinations from meds he didn't take as directed add in alcohol and drug abuse and it was a slow suicide. Know the VR song "Loving the Alien"? Yeah he would get paranoid and see aliens for a while, he thought the FBI or CIA was watching him. I always had hope that he would get better but there at the end (especially the Corpus Cristi show) you could tell he had just sort of given up on ever getting clean. He needed to be in care not on the road. It's a damn shame he's gone.

    • @EdCollects
      @EdCollects  2 ปีที่แล้ว

Yes, the infamous Corpus Cristi show was horrible! I wonder if he was too far gone at the end. The toll all those years of abuse caught up with him. He had heart disease as well. I got to see him live 4 times with STP and VR and of course this last show. I'll never get over that he's gone...

@@EdCollects Same. And I read that he was terribly depressed about not being able to see his kids. If she was worried that he would be inebriated around them, she could’ve set up supervised visits. You don’t just rip a father away from his kids. ESPECIALLY when he is funding her lavish life. I’m a single mum of a daughter whose dad was not always the best dad but I understood that he was young and it was still better he be in her life and now that she is 20 they have a great relationship and I KNOW having him in her life stops her from doing stupid shit because she wants his respect.

OMG he looks horrible. I will make anyone a promise that I will never become like that and drugs are a very serious matter. I joke about it and yeah I was addicted to drugs. He should have got on Suboxone it's a drug a smart drug designed to keep you from not getting sick and you don't get high you're normal it is a godsend I've been on it 14 15 years. I wish I could replace him I don't know what the band is doing and I would certainly devote all my time since I practice for 5 hours a day singing STP Alice in Chains Soundgarden audioslave and whatever but mainly those four I practice I feel like I need to do it I wouldn't care if I got paid or not just to help rock and roll get back on track. Hey thank you I haven't seen this I really appreciate that that's cool 🙏👍
