Thanks Norcal again really love the in-depth diagnostic and inner engineering skill you have. I’ve got a Yamaha DSP735 in causing me massive problems, intermittent power issues only for the customer though 😭 I could not find a fault with the unit when it was first sent too me, tested it for a week or so I quoted for a full recap, I recapped it set the bias up and all working great. Customer has the unit for a day and it’s back to clicking on and off, unit sent back and I’ve had it two weeks now and still cannot replicate the fault. Solder joints on the amp boards are fine along with the PSU and protection pcb. The unit doesn’t react to vibrations or cold/warm temperatures, will play music loud all day and power cycle with out fault. I’m really stumped on what todo 🤔

Check the customers speakers for shorts, even the midrange and tweeters. Also I have had a WIFI router too close to the unit cause strange issues. Have the customer power it up without anything connected and see if it still shuts down, even in a different room also.

Lucky you were able to source a donor unit to fix this one as many blown-up parts would be unobtainable new.
Certainly a challenge but hopefully a happy customer.

Yep, It is easy to slip while testing and popping other components. Especially with the newer electronics.

Very good job. Keep on going!!!👍May I ask what is that brush you are using in cleaning the oxidization on jumpers?

Very impressive repair - thank you for sharing this. I assume that all transistors prior the bias stage probably had been blown due to the misterious liquid impact that you have determined in your first video part. From what I have seen on my Onkyo repairs, these transistors survive if a power transistor got shorted - which is the usual case if this amp turns into protect mode . But if I understand you right the power transistors had been changed before, correct? Did you got any feedback from your customer what exactly happend to this unit?
And ...since not everyone have so much luck in having a spare unit for parts, may I ask over here if someone watching this already made some good experience in finding compatible transistor types to replace f.e. these INC and INA6006?
